Chapter 96: Verdant Cauldron Resonance
CHAPTER 96: VERDANT CAULDRON RESONANCE
The bell finally struck, signaling for purifying basic spirit herbs.
Liu Wei then controlled his flames to grasp not just one but all of the spirit herbs at once.
The spectators were stunned. Other participants near him were also distracted by his decision.
Even the judges from the Judges Pavillion had their eyebrows raised.
If only they knew it was the first time Liu Wei attempted to act rash in purifying the spirit herbs, they would puke blood.
However, Liu Wei was uncaring, he was not overconfident for nothing.
Using his flames, he controlled the basic spirit herbs and supposed to put them inside the cauldron to refine it.
However, he simply levitated the basic spirit herbs in mid-air and began to purify it.
The spectators drew a sharp breath, not understanding Liu Wei’s actions.
"What is he doing? That’s untraditional!"
"This guy has his own refining process. How unbelievable."
Even the judges’ felt unsettled.
One of the Senior Alchemists said, "That’s not untraditional. That’s an ancient method, before the cauldron was invented. Is he perhaps a reincarnated ancient figure?"
Another Alchemist replied, "Who knows? But even a reincarnated ancient figure would know that utilizing a cauldron than that brute method is a million times better."
They continued their discussion until the Master Alchemist chimed in.
"Or what if he discovered a method where he becomes a cauldron instead?"
The Judges’ Pavillion instantly went quiet.
They glued their eyes to Liu Wei, who began to extract impurities from the spirit herbs... and surprisingly, he did not damage them.
It would take a whole lot of different concentration to extract impurities perfectly just by the single spirit herb, but Liu Wei did it with five spirit herbs at once.
Everyone, who was watching him, was flabbergasted.
Liu Wei’s surprising action did not end there, as he completed the spirit herbs purification in half of an incense stick, leaving other participants, who noticed his action, in shock.
They were distracted to the point they damaged their herbs and one of them even burned their own.
Liu Wei then placed all the purified spirit herbs and even managed to gather all the impurities into identical, evenly sized beads.
All without breaking a sweat!
His action was so stunning that even the participants at the other end of the dome noticed his action and were deeply shocked.
His tray ended up with all herbs appearing in uniform colors—all refined at identical temperature and timing.
The spirit herbs also released a uniform scent, as Liu Wei successfully maintained his spiritual flame purity perfectly from start to finish.
And what was the most shocking in his tray was the zero burn scars. There were not scorch marks on the herb trays, not charred corners, not black spots from flame instability, and not even ash stains.
It only meant one thing, his flame never flickered, never wavered, and never leaked.
"A natural alchemy prodigy..." The Master Alchemist said.
One of the Senior Alchemists asked, "Do you know who he is, Master Yan? It seems like you recognized him."
The Master Alchemist shook his head and replied, "I really don’t know him. However, little Cai Hui asked for a recommendation token for me and said she would give it to someone. I am pretty sure that the recommendation token from that boy comes from me."
"Little Cai Hui knows that boy? If that’s the case, then it must be that boy, who discovered Cai Hui’s talent and unlocked it. We must befriend that boy!"
However, one of the Senior Alchemists, Huo Wu, said, "Or question him about his method."
The Judges Pavillion was instantly quiet.
The Senior Alchemist who proposed befriending Liu Wei glared at Huo Wu, "Do you even know what you’re saying?"
"Of course, I do." Huo Wu grinned. "I’m not an idiot like you. Look at him, do you believe there is a powerful faction backing him? It doesn’t seem to be the case. There’s no tattoo or any symbol that he might be affiliated to any powerful factions."
"Or what if he is, and that powerful faction is simply hiding in the dark. Do you think you can offend, let’s say, a faction from the Spirit Ascension Domain?"
"Look at you." Huo Wu chuckled. "You’re being delusional. There’s no way that happens. Just think of this way, a boy was just looking for treasure and he stumbled upon it, and succeeded. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s his fault for possessing a treasure he can’t protect."
"Enough," said Master Alchemist.
The Senior Alchemists who were arguing instantly went quiet and stared at him.
The Master Alchemist looked at Huo Wu and said, "Look at him, he’s already at the early Foundation Establishment Stage, not only is he a natural alchemy prodigy, in terms of cultivation speed, he’s a monster. Where do you think he gets the resources from? Nobody?"
Huo Wu sighed and shook his head. "Or what if he stumbled upon a place where he has all the resources."
Master Yan was taken aback and soon shook his head.
He did not want to argue with Huo Wu anymore and focused on Liu Wei.
He said, "We don’t know that boy’s secrets. But one thing is for sure, he is talented enough because he achieved resonance during the purification process."
The Senior Alchemists were stunned, even Huo Wu.
The Senior Alchemist who was against Huo Wu stared at him and grinned, "So, he’s not just lucky that he stumbled upon a treasure. His Dao comprehension is absurd, too. Then, that only means we can’t offend him."
Huo Wu snorted and rolled his eyes, not bothering to reply.
Meanwhile, Liu Wei, who was unaware of the judges’ discussion about him, was staring at his tray with an ambiguous expression.
He thought. Verdant Cauldron Resonance, huh? Never thought I’d really be able to manifest it.
According to the manual, if his dao of alchemy’s comprehension was high, he would be able to achieve the Verdant Cauldron Resonance, even when he was still in the sixth stage.
Earlier, he was not trying to manifest it, he simply went bold and synchronized his flame with the natural rhythm of the herbs.
Liu Wei soon discarded his thoughts and swept his gaze to other participants and was stunned he was the first one to finish.
With nothing to do, he waited for them, but suddenly, a table with an incense stick was summoned behind him.
That was then, he realized he would take the third test earlier than the participants...
