"Continue walking a bit further, there are many Red Scorpions there, it’s the place where the Firebird Beasts hunt for food."

The bearded Orc looked at him: "Aren’t we here to lure those Orcs?"

Xiu Yan nodded: "If we’re putting on a show, let’s make it convincing. If we’re not hunting, what will they raid?"

The bearded Orc agreed and went ahead to lead the way.

The group traveled a bit further until the oasis appeared as a wide green belt in their view, arriving at the place the bearded Orc mentioned.

Around them were many Thorn Fruits, almost like a small Thorn Fruit Breeding Base.

This reminded Xiu Yan of the scene when they first encountered the Red Scorpions; back then, the scorpions seemed to emerge from the sand around the Thorn Fruits.

"Do these Red Scorpions really like Thorn Fruits?" The Orc’s cool voice sounded beside him.

The bearded Orc glanced at him and nodded: "Yes, though we don’t know why, these Red Scorpions just love to build their nests where there are lots of Thorn Fruits."

"When we just entered the desert, we were attacked by Red Scorpions at a place with Thorn Fruits, but those Red Scorpions were huge, several times the size of these Fire Scorpions, and their venom was strong enough to easily break through the defenses of a fifth-level evolved Pangolin Orc."

Xiu Yan seemed peculiarly engaged in idle conversation with the bearded Orc beside him, showing no concern about imminent Orc attacks.

The bearded Orc’s attention was drawn to what he said: "The kind of Fire Scorpions you’re talking about is very rare unless in areas where Firebird Beasts are sparse; otherwise regular Fire Scorpions couldn’t grow that large."

Not to mention being able to ignore the defenses of fifth-level evolved Orcs.

They hid behind a sand dune downwind, and after a while, sure enough, many Firebird Beasts ran over from afar, hungrily diving into the Fire Scorpions.

Xiu Yan slightly raised his arm: "Prepare to hunt. Don’t concern yourselves with other matters, our target is those closest to us."

The Orcs nodded discreetly; there were roughly two dozen Firebird Beasts near them, and if they coordinated well, they could capture all of these Firebird Beasts.

They had just been disturbed by those mysterious Orcs over the past few days, unable to hunt properly, so capturing some food to bring back was good.

The Firebird Beasts were extremely skilled at eating Fire Scorpions, devouring them in one gulp, while the surrounding Fire Scorpions desperately burrowed into the sand to escape the clutch of the Firebird Beasts.

Unaware, the Firebird Beasts enjoying their feast were also delicacies to the eyes of the Orcs.

The number of Fire Scorpions was slowly decreasing as they fled and the Firebird Beasts fed.

"Go!" With a low shout from Xiu Yan, the Orcs around him charged forward.

The flock of Firebird Beasts panicked briefly before scattering in all directions, but the Orcs, focused and determined, ignored the fleeing Firebird Beasts, instead concentrating on surrounding a specially selected group.

The Firebird Beasts posed no real problem to Xiu Yan, but the problem was he couldn’t use his full strength, for if those Orcs didn’t show up, it would ruin the plan.

Pretending to struggle, he fought arduously with the surrounding Firebird Beasts, taking much longer to kill a Firebird Beast which he used to dispatch easily with a single swipe.

While the battle had no suspense, it did waste some time.
