Leisurely Farm Life in Beast World
Chapter 1321 - 1320, Embarrassment
CHAPTER 1321: CHAPTER 1320, EMBARRASSMENT
At this moment, Ji Nuan looked somewhat worriedly at the forest in the distance, which was already starting to darken; Xiu Yan and Casa hadn’t returned yet.
In front of the cabin, the orcs had lit two fire pits, and the fire seeds inside were blazing fiercely. On the other side, the people of the Bitter Tribe, having eaten, were seeing such a large fire for the first time—it was both curious and frightening.
Ji Nuan and several orcs sat by the fire. Harry occasionally glanced at the forest with some worry: "What are those two guys up to? Why aren’t they back yet."
Ji Nuan smiled at him: "Didn’t Casa tell you when he left?"
Harry frowned: "This morning, I was gathering herbs around with Norz, and when we came back, only Tuya told me they’d gone out."
Ji Nuan laughed: "Brother Xiu Yan said our beast skins have been around for a long time. Now that we’re settling down at the Bitter Tribe, they went hunting for some good prey and getting some fine beast skins."
Harry’s tightly knitted brows finally relaxed: "I knew it, then they don’t have to go hunting now; it’s to get beast skins."
At this point, Luo Gan had already brought over two cleaned deer legs: "Shaman, do you want me to roast the deer leg for you?"
Ji Nuan pointed to one of the legs: "You can roast this one; leave the other one for Xiu Yan to have when he returns."
Luo Gan nodded and skillfully skewered the large deer leg on a wooden stick, setting it over the edge of the fire pit to roast slowly. This way, the roast meat was fragrant, but the speed was nothing worth praising.
Ji Nuan was already hungry. She took a clean wooden board from the cabin, then pulled out a small knife from her waist and took another piece of meat from the leaf, cutting it into fingertip-sized cubes.
"Shaman Harry, get me some jointed trees and split them into finer sticks."
Ji Nuan very casually ordered Harry around, while Luo Gan and Tuya lifted their eyelids in a sly manner, sneakily glancing at Harry sitting by the fire pit.
Only to see Harry respond with a simple "Hmm" and get up. After a while, he returned with a bundle of split jointed tree branches, and the ends of the branches were shaped to a sharp point.
Ji Nuan reached out for a branch, somewhat surprised looking at him: "Did you scald it with hot water?"
Harry nodded and sat down next to her, taking a branch and, following her example, threading the cut meat onto it, placing it on a nearby large leaf: "Didn’t you say these things have invisible bugs or eggs on them?"
Ji Nuan laughed: "But I’m going to roast these skewers over the fire later; it’s also fine without scalding them with hot water."
Harry’s expression stiffened, feeling somewhat awkward. He glared at her without speaking, silently threading the meat skewers.
Ji Nuan chuckled twice. Luo Gan and Tuya’s shoulders were slightly shaking beside her.
Until Harry’s slightly murderous gaze swept over, the two beasts’ expressions stiffened, and they solemnly went back to their tasks.
Harry snorted coldly and continued with his work.
Ji Nuan pushed the remaining pieces of meat and branches to Harry’s side: "You thread the rest, I’ll roast what I’ve already done."
Harry glanced at the blazing fire pit: "I’d better do it; the fire is a bit too fierce."
Ji Nuan looked at him with much disdain: "Forget it; I’m afraid you’ll char the skewers I’ve painstakingly made."
