CHAPTER 461: CHAPTER 461: YOUNG LI 2

"I’ve heard ghosts are even scarier than Fog Corpses." The young man looked down at the Fog Corpses wandering in the dense fog and glanced at Jinsheng: "Aren’t you afraid to go and become a ghost by yourself?"

"Not afraid!" Jinsheng retorted stubbornly, but her hand gripping the other end of the long stick was trembling uncontrollably.

Why are people afraid of ghosts? Isn’t it because they imagine ghosts to be terrifying in their minds?

If ghosts were good-looking, then the fear of them would diminish somewhat.

At this moment, when the young man said ghosts were even scarier than Fog Corpses, Jinsheng completely believed it.

She’s already traveled through time; what can’t she believe now?

"Let’s go, together." Li took the opportunity to snatch back the long stick: "Even if we unfortunately become ghosts, I’ll be with you."

"Oh, shut up! Not a single word is auspicious; both of us must survive well." Jinsheng said stiffly, her eyes slightly red.

She definitely didn’t want to die; she hadn’t lived enough yet.

Determined to live, Jinsheng moved very lightly and cautiously as she climbed down the water tower.

The young man walked ahead of her, soon reaching the ground first.

"You wait here, I’ll go down and clear the way." The young man said weakly.

"No way." Jinsheng shook her head.

The young man was so weak that he was shaking even as he walked, holding on with his last breath.

She was trembling out of fear.

"You said that we’d even become ghosts together." Jinsheng said angrily.

The young man, Li, didn’t expect that what he had just said would be thrown back at him by Jinsheng.

"I’ve got this." Jinsheng carefully took a keychain out of her pocket and handed it to Li.

Li looked at it; it was a little black dog.

When the switch was pressed, it would light up with multicolored lights and play music.

"Press it once, and it can make noise for a minute." Jinsheng whispered: "We’ll throw it far away to lure the Fog Corpses away."

Upon hearing this, Li glanced at the Fog Corpses wandering below.

Now, all that remained here were One Star Fog Corpses; their strength wasn’t great, and their eyesight was poor.

They could indeed be lured away just by sound.

With the fog obstructing the view, and the limited distance, as long as he and Jinsheng were a bit careful, these Fog Corpses wouldn’t be able to spot them.

"Get ready." Li squeezed the dog keychain, reminding Jinsheng.

As the two climbed down the water tower ladder, with five steps left to the ground, Li observed the surroundings and pressed the dog keychain.

As the unknown music started playing, the dog keychain was thrown more than a dozen meters away.

"Go quickly." The young man Li endured the pain in his leg and swiftly descended the stairs.

With a trembling and anxious heart, Jinsheng quickly followed.

As soon as the young man landed, he reached out to catch Jinsheng.

Once Jinsheng landed, she hurriedly supported the young man as they quickly moved towards safety.

Fortunately, after a night passed, the Fog Corpses had dispersed.

Moreover, Li’s vision wasn’t much obstructed in the fog; he could see clearly up to ten meters.

The two of them supported each other, following Jinsheng’s guidance, arriving at the Radish Head supply station.

Although it was called a supply station, it was just a metaphor.

In reality, it was a small house built by the robot Radish Head outside for sheltering from the wind and rain, allowing it to hide when it’s raining.

But seeing the supply station she had hoped could save her life, with its broken door and missing pieces of the roof, and the inside covered in dust and cobwebs, Jinsheng felt as if the sky had collapsed.

This small house that had obviously been abandoned for a long time—could it still have the medicine she needed?

Unwilling to give up, Jinsheng supported Li into the small room and began to search.

Fearing to attract Fog Corpses, she moved cautiously and lightly.

The cabinets were all empty; when opened, some even had insect eggs and little black droppings.

"There must be something, there must be." Jinsheng prayed in her heart: "There must be something overlooked."

Thinking of Radish Head’s habit of liking to dig holes.

When she couldn’t find anything in the cabinet, Jinsheng took Li’s long stick and started tapping on the moss-covered floor.

Listening to the different echoing sounds, Jinsheng occasionally looked up to check outside, fearing any Fog Corpses might come.

Until she heard a different sound in a corner.

Jinsheng looked joyfully at Li, who had endured his injury and was lying weakly: "I’ve found it!"

She gripped the long stick and forcefully pried at the corner of the wooden board.

But Radish Head’s defense was well-made.

She pried for a long time, but the wooden board didn’t budge a bit.

"Let me do it." Li supported himself against the wall, took the long stick from Jinsheng’s hand.

The little strength he had just regained was entirely spent on prying the wooden board.

Fortunately, the wooden board opened smoothly, revealing the iron box covered with weeds inside.

Jinsheng joyfully picked up the iron box: "It’s a first aid kit."

The first aid kit had a combination lock, and Jinsheng also noticed that the remaining power was low.

Only enough for her to try the combination three times.

If she got the wrong combination three times, and the power ran out, it would never open again.

Fortunately, Jinsheng remembered Radish Head’s habit of setting passwords.

After she entered six eights, the box opened smoothly.

Inside were some disinfectant ointments, and even two energy-replenishing sugar blocks.

Jinsheng held the box as if it were a treasure, motioning for Li to sit down quickly.

First, she gave Li a piece of sugar to eat while she took out disinfectant medicine to bandage his leg wound.

As it was a first aid kit and considering Li’s injuries,

after one use, the remaining medicine wasn’t enough for a second treatment.

Jinsheng looked worried, concerned about the coming days, when she heard Li calling her: "Look at this."

"What... mmmm!" Jinsheng looked over, puzzled, not even having finished asking her question when Li stuffed a piece of sugar into her mouth.

"You either cry or frown, have something sweet." The young man chuckled.

"This was for you to eat." Jinsheng opened her mouth in disapproval.

She wasn’t injured, but the young man was a wounded patient now.

And, there were only two pieces of sugar.

"Aren’t you hungry?" The young man asked.

"I’m not hungry." Jinsheng had just answered when her stomach growled embarrassingly.

"Remember," the young man folded the candy wrapper and held it in his palm, looking at Jinsheng: "No matter who you face in the future, you must treat yourself better."

"Of course I treat myself well." Jinsheng retorted.

She reached out, grabbed the other piece of candy from the young man’s hand, unwrapped it, and directly put it in his mouth: "You, too."

"Hurry up and eat it, after that regain your strength, you still need to protect me."

"You’re really not polite." The young man couldn’t help but laugh.

He pushed the candy in his mouth with his tongue and found it very sweet.

Just as he was thinking, he met Jinsheng’s close-up face.

A little uncomfortable, the young man turned his head to avoid her gaze, puzzled: "What are you looking at?"

"You look better smiling than when you’re glaring." Jinsheng teased.

"Who’s smiling?" The young man instantly put on a stern face: "Laughing looks so dumb, like a silly dog."

"Doggy?" Hearing the mention of a dog, Jinsheng moved her smiling face even closer.

The young man quickly pushed her away with his hand: "I told you I’m not a dog!"

"Alright, doggy." Jinsheng selectively listened.

Unable to correct her, the young man sighed in surrender and took the long stick to stand up.

He reached out to Jinsheng: "Let’s go."

If they didn’t find something to eat soon.

He feared they would starve to death here, together with Jinsheng.

The dilapidated wooden house was not safe.

Jinsheng packed the remaining medicine and left the house with Li, supporting each other.
