16 Entering the dungeon

"We don’t exist to get rich in the dungeons, we exist to protect those who can’t protect themselves, do you understand?"

Alex was witnessing the difference between reality and fiction, in the stories he read and in anime, such moments were rarely shown, and when they were addressed, they were done artificially, usually in the form of statistics.

The four enter the pilot leader’s tent, the man was robust and aged around forty.

"Sword Saint, the general has warned of your arrival, I am glad to have you here to deal with the situation."

With a straight posture and a solemn voice, the leader continues to provide his report.

"All the monsters that will come out of the dungeon were killed in a joint effort between the hunters and the military, now, according to the experts’ calculations, the next wave is expected in two hours, the assessment of the destroyed and damaged structures is still being collected"

Arnaldo received an illustrated report on a tablet showing the surrounding area.

"What’s in this building?"

Arnaldo showed a building that appeared to be partially destroyed.

"I don’t think this damage was done by monsters."

Alex looked at the rubble, but was unable to notice the difference in what Arnaldo showed the same was true for the military.

Joana pointed out a marker among the wreckage, Félix received a tablet and gave his contribution through its analysis.

Arnaldo asked with a frown, to which Felix quickly researched and provided the answer.

"The building is entirely occupied by the Galax branch aiz "

Joana continued with the explanation

" Galaxy aiz is a cryogenics company, it has been operating in conjunction with the pharmaceutical industries in the region for 10 years, this branch has only been active for 10 years"

Félix continued where Joana left off without losing the rhythm of the conversation.

"With the emergence of new medical classes, the pharmaceutical industry has expanded a lot lately, for those who can afford it, organ transplants and limb regeneration are done in a matter of hours."

"And what does this have to do with Galax? aiz ?"

Arnaldo asked curiously, the one who decided to answer was Joana

"Researchers are looking for a cure for death, and when this news became public, cryonics companies became quite popular."

"Do people really believe there can be a cure for death?"

Alex asked expressing disbelief

"At first no, only the rich requested these services, but now even hunters believe they will be able to return to life one day."

"Let’s take a look at this Galax branch aiz , anyway we have about two hours before the next wave arrives, Pilot Leader could you come with us?"

The sword saint’s team of four was accompanied by five armed soldiers to the building that was a two-minute walk from the temporary base where they were staying.

"We are from the hunters’ association, we are here to investigate the dungeon breach that occurred in this block, we appreciate your understanding and cooperation"

"What does the breakup have to do with us? It wouldn’t be a problem for the guilds and the association itself because you’re evading."

Joana approached the sword samite and said softly

"It seems like he’s hiding something."

Since the man appeared, Joana paid attention to everything about the man, how he moved, spoke, his breathing, his fingers and eyes.

"Apparently I don’t see any irregularities, Felix, now it’s up to you."

Felix smiled slightly, snapped his fingers, moved to the nearest computer, and began typing at a surprising speed.

"You can’t do this because the association is interfering in our business? We’re going to file a lawsuit against you."

While speaking, the obese man tried to stop Félix from carrying out his activity, but seeing the soldiers’ weapons pointed at him, he restrained himself by biting his teeth.

Felix looked quite disappointed as he said these words, when several screens opened he continued saying, not paying attention to the surprised face of the obese man who looked at him as if he were a monster.

Alex was genuinely surprised by the speed at which Felix typed; it seemed like he had much greater dexterity than him, and what about his agility?

Joana and Arnaldo asked at the same time and even Alex was stunned in a negative way

"They are smuggling the bodies of dead hunters under the pretext that they are preserving them for a future revival. Not only do they keep the monthly fee, they also sell the bodies and continue to receive payment for the preservation."

Seeing the signal given by Arnaldo, the pilot leader, used his intercom to call more of his men

"You’re lying, we didn’t do this kind of thing, our services here are legally certified by the government and the pharmaceutical order"

Hearing Felix’s words, the obese man panicked and began to retreat as he spoke in a trembling voice.

"Platoon leader, arrest all the employees here. Joana, you have one hour to conduct an interrogation. Find out what you can. Felix, show me the building’s layout and report the situation to the general. Alex, come with me. Let’s take a look at the cryogenic chambers."

" Yes sir"

Everyone received their orders and acted accordingly. Alex followed Arnaldo to take a look at the cryogenics chambers and what they found there left them speechless.

80% of the chambers had already been opened and the hunters’ bodies had already been sold, leaving only a few bodies of normal people. Arnaldo was able to detect necromancy activities.

Arnaldo picked up the intercom and gave orders to lock the place; no one could enter or leave without his order.

After an hour, Félix and Joana had uncovered almost the entire operation and reported everything to both the general and the investigators who took over the investigation case. There was only about forty minutes left until the next wave.

Normal people could not enter the dungeons, that is why hunters were so precious to the State and the guilds, without the hunters it would be necessary to wait until the monsters came out of the dungeons to be able to kill them with modern weaponry.

It would also be impossible for the world to benefit from materials that could only be acquired inside dungeons.

"This must be your second time in a dungeon, isn’t it, your majesty?"

Alex nodded slightly at Felix’s question.

The four of them were in front of a gigantic gate that radiated strong radiation and ordinary people could not approach, because the radiation would kill them in a short period of time, only hunters could withstand this energy hostile to human beings.

At the sword saint’s command, everyone took their positions, Arnaldo and Joana took the lead in the attack, Alex and Félix taking care of the rearguard.

Felix didn’t have a combat class, but he had his own way of fighting and keeping himself safe if needed, two platinum spheres were removed from his inventory that floated and transformed into two platinum robots.

"Your Majesty Meet Platinum 1 and Platinum 2, I built them myself"

Felix grabbed a PS remote and bragged about his robots to Alex
