CHAPTER 35: THE DECISION IS MADE IN HALF-HEARTED ATTENTION.

The decision is made in half-hearted attention.

"No way, you will not leave this cave until rescue arrives." Rouke stood in front of Tiffany, preventing her from following Alex.

"You can’t stop me from going, I’m not going to stay here waiting for my death when something can be done to change the situation we find ourselves in" her eyes looked resolute.

"I am the one who makes the decisions here, and no one under my command will leave this cave while I am here, even if I have to use force to do so." Rouke pointed the axe at Tiffany.

"At no time was I under your command, it was of my own free will that I decided to invade this dungeon for the guild, and the same way I will leave here. I don’t need you to tell me what to do." A sword was raised to confront the axe.

"Don’t be spoiled, you brat. You know how many of us died to keep you safe. Now you decide to throw your life away? What will you tell them when you meet them in death? That they threw their lives away for nothing?" Rouke’s questions sounded harsh, but Tiffany didn’t flinch.

"Don’t come at me with that, I didn’t ask any of you to die for me, if you have any complaints save it for when you tell my sister, anyway you were just doing your job, and I believe the guild will compensate your families very well for your deaths"

Hearing such words, Rouke bristled and prepared to slap her.

"You damned brat, how dare you?... "

Rouke was stopped by Sarah before Rouke could say anything else, she stood between the two and said in a calm voice.

"You guys should calm down first, it was 11 days of complete tension, I know that, but that’s not the reason you want to fight, we belong to the same guild, you still remember that, right?"

"Leader, if she wants to go so much, why don’t you let her?"

"Let her go? You’ve lost your mind! You know the vice-guild leader was very clear when she ordered us to protect this spoiled girl above all else. If even one hair of hers is missing, you know very well what the consequences would be."

The voice carried both fear and long-suppressed anger.

"Are you that afraid of the vice-guild leader?" Hearing Sarah’s question, Rouke laughed dryly, he shook his head.

"That woman is crazy, why wouldn’t I fear her? If you were just for me, I wouldn’t fear her so much, but I have a daughter, who knows if the vice-leader decides to cause trouble for her."

Hearing her companion’s argument, Sarah decided to retreat. She, more than anyone, knew the temperament of her vice-guild leader and knew that Rouke’s fears were not entirely unfounded.

"You will not leave and that’s the end of it."

Rouke decided to knock Tiffany unconscious with his axe, when lightning crackled and he was sent flying, everything happened so fast that when he realized something was already on the ground on the other side of the cave.

"She wants to leave on her own, why are you stopping her? I won’t allow it. I’m a member of the hunters’ association, upholding the rights of a hunter. If you want to keep her here, you’ll have to stop me first?" Meaningless words were spoken with the majesty of a king reverberating in the cave.

A disdainful laugh was heard suppressing Alex’s words, Rouke laughed loudly and got up and prepared to attack with his axe, from the previous blow he didn’t suffer any real damage.

Alex made a mental note that his strength attribute needed to be improved as soon as possible.

"You, a mere one-star hunter, think you can stand against me? Boy, you better run away from here before I finish you off before those spiders."

The words were spoken with derision.

Alex snorted coldly and a figure with a ghostly beauty appeared beside him wearing black armor, as expected after having leveled up and increasing all his attributes by two points, his knight was also stronger.

"How about we test your theory? If I remember correctly, your deputy leader wasn’t able to handle me, I just want to see your subordinate try."

The majesty of a king returned with weight in every word that came out of Alex’s mouth, Sarah recognized Alex’s strength, the boy was strong and if a fight started everyone here would end up killed by the spiders.

"You guys should stop this, if you fight here, in just a few seconds we’ll have a spider infestation. And when that happens we’ll all be dead."

Sarah’s words calmed the atmosphere a bit, but neither of them backed down.

"What do you suggest we do then?" Alex asked looking at Sarah, who in turn looked at Rouke and said softly.

"Because we don’t hear what his plan is to begin with, then we can decide whether to participate or not."

She looked at Tiffany and told her without waiting for Rouke’s confirmation.

"Tiffany, if his plan is unrealistic, you will stay with us and wait for rescue, do you understand?"

Tiffany nodded before asking a question.

"And if the plan is credible, will you let me go without complications?"

Sarah glanced briefly at Rouke and said with determination.

"Well, if the plan works and works, not only will you be free to go, but Rouke and I will go as well. I believe Rouke wants so much to save our imprisoned people and even more to return to his daughter, so he won’t oppose the plan if it works."

All this, the atmosphere in the cave relaxed and everyone focused their attention on Alex, who in turn asked a question.

"The monsters, the spiders, they don’t bring our deaths down right away, right?"

"Yes, they will feed their king, who has not yet awakened, with our living bodies," Rouke said annoyed, he thought Sarah had told him this before.

"Very well, that’s what we’ll do to clear this dungeon..."

Slowly Alex unfolded his plans for the Blue Spirit Guild, the whole time he spoke, everyone made odours of complete disbelief.

When Alex finished telling everything, Rouke stood up and said angrily.

"Are you crazy? What kind of shitty plan is this? This is clearly not going to work."

"Rouke, calm down, it’s very risky but it might work." Sarah lightly tapped Rouke’s shoulders as she said these words.

"We’re going to end up dead, that’s what," Rouke said, a little calmer.

"It’s much better than staying here waiting for rescue, are you guys in line with my plan?" Alex asked as his knight turned into a purple light that disappeared into thin air with the cancellation of the skill.

"We agree"

Sarah spoke up for everyone, even though she didn’t trust such a plan. They all knew they would die if they carried out this crazy plan, but they still risked their lives to try.

"Since we are heading towards death you should use that artifact, this way our chances would increase a little" Rouke said looking at Tiffany.

Tiffany’s eyes lit up with realization.

"Ha! Yes, of course, I must use it" with that, a red stone took shape in his hands and then a bluish-white orb was floating in front of him.
