Lingering Passion: Mr. Sutton Wants to be Your Male Lead!
Chapter 33: They All Deserved It
CHAPTER 33: CHAPTER 33: THEY ALL DESERVED IT
Hearing Sue Woods’ voice, Flynn Shepherd didn’t respond immediately on the phone.
After a while, he took a deep breath and said, "Sue, let me speak to Stella Grant, I have something to discuss with her."
Sue glanced towards the kitchen, seeing Stella not turning back, she walked a little farther with the phone and said, "If there’s something, just tell me directly. Our Stella doesn’t have time to take your call."
Flynn’s tone was anxious, "What’s she doing?"
Sue lied without missing a beat, "On a date with her new boyfriend!"
Without waiting for Flynn’s response, Sue continued, "Flynn, you don’t think our Stella can’t see the whole forest because of you, the crooked tree, do you?"
Flynn, "Sue, I know you have opinions about me, but I really have an urgent matter. Can you give the phone to Stella?"
Sue, "No, if you want to say something, say it to me. If not, I’ll just hang up."
Flynn, having been in a relationship with Stella for years, naturally understood Sue’s personality.
Hearing her words, he gritted his teeth and said, "Sue, can you ask Stella if she has time to help me with something urgent?"
Sue asked, "What do you need help with?"
Flynn nearly ground his molars to bits, "The hotel, Creston Hotel, I’ve been cornered by our President Wright."
After Flynn finished speaking, Sue was unresponsive for a few seconds, then burst into laughter, "Serves you right!"
With that, she hung up the phone.
When Stella came out with the heated food, Sue hadn’t wiped the smile off her face yet.
Stella raised her eyebrows, curiously asking, "What’s so funny?"
Sue was laughing to the point of tears, "Flynn, that Flynn got cornered by their President Wright in a hotel."
Stella, "How do you know?"
Sue waved the phone in her hand, "He just called asking for your help, and I answered it."
Speaking, Sue wiped the tears of laughter from the corner of her eye and continued, "Really, some people are shameless, really, trees without bark will surely die, but people without shame, nothing fazes them. I wonder how he has the nerve to say that?"
Stella smirked lightly, "You can never fathom a scoundrel with a normal person’s thoughts."
Because such people have no boundaries, no limits.
What you think is the endpoint of shameless behavior might just be their starting point.
After Stella finished speaking, Sue nodded in strong agreement, "Indeed."
Mrs. Grant had brought Stella her specialties, and Sue couldn’t stop praising them as she ate.
After a few bites, Stella suddenly thought of something, curiously asking, "How did President Wright catch him?"
Sue, "I don’t know. I didn’t ask. I’m not interested in his disgusting affairs, but for someone like him, walking by the river often, it’s inevitable to get your shoes wet."
Stella, "That’s true."
The last time, during a company party, the two couldn’t hold back; who knows about normal times.
After dinner, Sue had a shoot the next day and didn’t dare linger long.
Seeing Sue off, Stella returned to the dining room to clean up the dishes.
After tidying up the dining room and kitchen, Stella walked to the sofa and picked up her phone, discovering several messages from Flynn.
The first few were pleas for help.
Various complaints, grievances, saying how tough it was for him to get here, interspersed with some reminiscing of the past.
Probably because Stella never replied, the last message turned as quickly as flipping a page, directly turning into insults and threats.
"Stella Grant, you’re not helping me this time, are you? I’ll tell you, if you don’t make it easy for me, I definitely won’t make it easy for you. Let’s wait and see!"
Looking at Flynn’s final message, Stella pressed her lips together.
What does he mean she didn’t make it easy for him?
Does he think the reason he’s in this position now is all her fault?
Stella gave a light scoff and added all of Flynn’s contact information to the blacklist.
Since they’ve already torn faces, and he’s still cornered by President Wright at the hotel, personally and professionally, they won’t have any contact anymore, and she has no concerns.
The high-intensity work lately, along with all the personal matters that are hard to untangle, had left Stella without a good night’s sleep for a long time.
So tonight she took a bath, watched some shows on her phone, and went to bed early.
The next morning.
Stella arrived at the company as usual. Just getting to the project department, she heard the gossiping voices of a few young employees.
"Creston doesn’t even need to advertise now; everyone in Veridia knows about it."
"Ten years of ads went unnoticed, but two affairs made headlines."
"It’s really hilarious. Yesterday, a bunch of paparazzi went to catch Silas Sutton with two young models, but ended up capturing President Wright’s wife and their company’s VP, Flynn."
Speaking of Flynn, the group lowered their voices, "Isn’t Flynn Stella’s boyfriend?"
The group hushed, "Shh, don’t talk about it."
——"Manager Grant! Morning!"
Stella, "Morning."
The young gossiping employees froze.
Stella glanced at them, her expression indifferent, "It’s alright, we’ve already broken up. Continue."
With those words, Stella stepped into her office.
With the office door closed, an older employee outside said quietly, "Caught gossiping, huh?"
Back in her office, Stella set down her handbag and arched an eyebrow.
Silas Sutton and Flynn were caught in the same hotel?
Quite a coincidence.
At that moment, Silas Sutton, the leading man in a gossip scandal involving him and two women, had just walked out of the Sutton Family’s old house with difficulty, his white shirt stained with blood.
Forrest Keller saw him and stepped forward, taking off his suit jacket to give to him.
Silas waved his hand to push it away, his expression cold and hard, and pulled a cigarette from his pocket, biting it in front of his lips, and asked, "Has Stella come back?"
