Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth
Chapter 1105 - 487: Sudden Mutation (Part 2)
"You're right, it definitely needs to be dealt with." As Hugo spoke, he pulled out a silenced pistol from his coat and shot directly at the Mexican man.
"Bang bang."
"Bang!"
The first two shots were muffled, not loud.
The last shot shattered the night sky.
The Mexican man clutched his chest and fell to the ground helplessly.
This sudden change stunned Tom, who looked terrified. The cigarette in his right hand slipped and fell, "He's going to kill me to silence me, please save me!"
Before he finished speaking, Hugo also fell to the ground, his head blown open, blood splattering on John's face.
After Hugo fired, the police sniper also shot.
All of this happened in an instant.
Afterwards, officers rushed out from all directions, surrounding the gray Volkswagen, and smashed the glass directly.
"LAPD, don't move."
"Let me see your hands."
"Raise your hands!"
Sofia was showered with shards of broken glass, her face showing a look of panic, "I am unarmed, please don't shoot."
Blackie opened the car door, pulled Sofia out, and searched her, "Where is the hostage?"
"In the car trunk."
Luke went to the back and opened the car trunk, and indeed saw Isa Redman huddled inside, her hands bound, her body writhing and struggling, making "mmm" sounds.
Luke could sense her fear and comforted her, "Don't be afraid.
We are police, here to rescue you, and I will help you unlock the handcuffs."
Then, Luke instructed Jackson beside him, "Go get a blanket.
Jenny, you take care of her."
"Yes, sir."
Soon after, an ambulance arrived to treat the injured.
Isa Redman was overly frightened and slightly dehydrated, but otherwise unharmed.
The other two injured were not so lucky, Hugo was shot in the head by a sniper and died instantly.
The Mexican man was shot in the chest, it was very dangerous, but fortunately, the ambulance was nearby and was able to stop the bleeding in time. It was up to his will to survive now.
Luke hadn't anticipated Hugo suddenly turning murderous.
As for why Hugo wasn't apprehended immediately, the main consideration was the safety of the hostage.
The other kidnapper never showed up, and the exact location of the hostage was unclear. Arresting Hugo the moment he got out of the car might have led the other kidnapper to harm the hostage.
So, Luke wanted to find out the hostage's location, or lure the other kidnapper out of the car before taking action, not expecting Hugo to get murderous with the two accomplices handling the ransom.
Although the process had some twists and turns, the hostage was successfully rescued, the kidnappers either killed or captured, making the mission a success.
Luke did not interrogate immediately; he dealt with the scene and then went home to sleep.
Slept until nine in the morning the next day.
Luke ate a hot dog by the roadside and went to the station to prepare to interrogate the suspects.
Hugo Joduri had been killed.
The Mexican kidnapper was still being treated in the hospital.
The interrogation targets were Sofia and Tom.
The deputy team was responsible for interrogating Tom.
Luke and Jackson were responsible for interrogating Sofia.
In the corridor, Jackson softly said, "There were four kidnappers in total, and only one female kidnapper named Sofia. Could she be the hostage Sofia from ten years ago?"
Luke thought for a moment, "I don't know, ultimately we'll have to wait for the tech team's report."
Jackson said excitedly, "Could we solve the kidnapping case from ten years ago as well?"
Luke shook his head, "It's not that easy, after all, it's been ten years, many clues and evidence have disappeared, convicting anyone would be a big problem."
During the conversation, they both walked into the first interrogation room of the Robbery and Murder Department.
A short-haired girl was lying on the interrogation table. Hearing the sound of the door opening, she looked up at Luke and Jackson, rubbed her eyes, "Can I have a cup of coffee?"
The whole squad hadn't rested well in two days while investigating the case, Jackson had already prepared a pot of coffee, poured a cup, and handed it to her.
The girl took a big sip of coffee, "Thank you, I feel much better."
Luke sat opposite, opening a file, "Your name is Sofia?"
"Yes."
"What's your last name?"
"Good question, I'd like to know too, if you find out, remember to tell me."
Luke stared at her, "Sofia, we not only caught you but also your accomplices, hiding your identity now is meaningless."
"I'm not hiding it, I truly don't know my surname.
When I was young, I had a severe head injury and lost most of my memory. I only remember my name is Sofia, and I'm not even sure if that's my name.
It could be the name of some TV character that left a deep impression on me." Sofia lowered her head, revealing a scar on her head.
Jackson leaned closer, took a look, and touched his own head, "I have a similar scar, it's a painful memory."
Sofia said, "At least you still have your memories, and I... only have this name."
"Do you remember your parents?"
Sofia thought for a moment, her expression complex, "I can't clearly remember what my father looked like, but vaguely recall he was a very gentlemanly man, quite tall, around forty, with a small mustache.
Also, I remember he once gave me a bicycle, a very beautiful bicycle. I can't recall the brand, it seemed to be red.
