CHAPTER 69: CHAPTER 69 HE IS STILL HER ARLO

The dinner table was silent. Ariel Morris lifted her gaze and sneaked a glance at the person eating quietly across from her before softly asking, "Arlo Seys, how much did you spend today? Why did the supermarket send an entire box over?" When she opened the door to sign for the items, she was stunned.

Who goes to the supermarket to buy ’bread’—and purchases an entire box of it? Dozens of packets... enough for a year!

"I don’t know, I used my card," Arlo Seys continued eating, his voice somewhat deep.

He hadn’t even looked at the bill.

Ariel blurted out, "How am I supposed to pay you back then!"

Arlo’s fingers holding the chopsticks trembled slightly. He looked up, his eyes gradually growing colder, "Ariel Morris! If you can’t talk, then just shut up!"

Ha, payback? Needing him and calling for help, then paying back and saying goodbye when he’s not needed.

Arlo didn’t speak, but his eyes grew colder and he stared directly at Ariel.

Ariel felt shaky under his gaze and weakly replied, "I won’t default on you. I was planning to leave in a few days, but I’ll repay everything I’ve spent today before I go. Just that I currently have no money, I can’t pay back now."

"Ariel Morris, you should never have come back!"

Arlo suddenly stood up, kicked back his chair, and went upstairs without finishing his meal.

"..." Did she say something wrong again? He got her fired, and she didn’t even ask about it, so why was he angry? Ariel felt bewildered.
