Love Symphony: Let Your Heart Beat for Me
Chapter 20 - 007 Unexpected Encounter_2
CHAPTER 20: CHAPTER 007 UNEXPECTED ENCOUNTER_2
Su Wan was momentarily stunned upon hearing it. She didn’t think much about the meaning of the words, only that his smoking or not had nothing to do with her... The words she wanted to say were swallowed back, and she remained silent.
After the car drove for fifteen minutes, spotting a familiar Cantonese tea restaurant ahead, Su Wan asked, "Mr. Fu, do you like Cantonese dim sum?"
Fu Weiheng pondered, "It’s okay."
Su Wan said, "There’s a Cantonese tea restaurant there, the dim sum is quite good, want to try it?"
Fu Weiheng: "Sure."
The reason Su Wan agreed to Fu Weiheng’s dinner invitation was because of the meal they had with Fu two days before National Day. It was initially agreed that Su Wan would treat, but it ended up being the God who paid. Then, two days later, she very ungraciously claimed not to know the God, feeling uncomfortable inside, so she agreed.
Su Wan found a window seat and sat down. After Fu Weiheng parked the car and came in to sit down, she proactively handed him the menu and poured him a cup of Pu’er tea, recommending, "The char siu buns here are delicious, and so are the rice rolls, the egg tarts are also good."
Fu Weiheng glanced at the menu, set it aside, and said, "You decide."
Su Wan nodded and waved over the waitress.
The waitress was a young girl, and upon seeing such a handsome man as Fu Weiheng, her mind was unsettled for a moment. Then looking at the girl across from the man, with her rosy lips, white teeth, and clear, beautiful appearance, she sighed, a handsome man matched with a beautiful woman.
Su Wan ordered several baskets of snacks and pastries, finally adding an egg tart. After confirming Fu Weiheng had no objections, the choices were settled.
Before long, the table was filled with exquisite dim sum. Seeing the teacup in front of him nearly empty, Su Wan picked up the teapot and added some tea to Fu Weiheng’s cup, her tone light and easy, "Mr. Fu, dig in."
Fu Weiheng murmured assent, picked up his chopsticks, and grabbed a piece of beef tripe.
Su Wan took a sip of tea and asked him, "Mr. Fu, are you here in Yi City for a vacation?"
"No, just stopping by to see a friend," Fu Weiheng looked up, his deep black eyes full of gentleness, "What about you? Are you home for a short stay over the holiday?"
The phrase "home" reminded Su Wan of her deceased father. She lowered her head slightly, her eyes showing a hint of sadness, "Yes."
Fu Weiheng caught the emotion in her eyes, picked up an egg tart and placed it in her bowl, shifting the topic, "Would you like to go to a concert?"
Su Wan looked up and saw him taking two tickets out from his coat pocket, pushing them in front of her.
"They were from Grandpa Weng," Fu Weiheng stated lightly, "You can take your friend along."
So, is that why he sought her out tonight, to hand over concert tickets?
Su Wan, sharp-eyed, noticed the words on the tickets—Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Her heart instantly excited, as that’s a famous German symphony orchestra. She was tempted, "How much?"
He said, "They were originally from Grandpa Weng. His legs and feet aren’t doing well lately, so it’s inconvenient for him to go out. It would be a waste to keep them, so I wouldn’t charge you."
But the truth was, he specifically had Zhang Lin reserve two tickets to give to her. Grandpa Weng was merely an excuse to make her accept.
Su Wan loved listening to symphonies. Since Fu Weiheng had put it this way, she didn’t insist further, thinking she would repay the favor next time, and agreed, "Then thank you, Grandpa Weng and Mr. Fu."
Fu Weiheng frowned slightly, not quite satisfied with the title, but his tone remained gentle, "Weren’t you going to have the egg tart? Go ahead and eat."
Su Wan smiled, "Okay."
This time, Su Wan was a bit smart. As the meal was nearing its end, she seized the opportunity while going to the restroom to pay the bill in advance.
Unaware, when Fu Weiheng went to the counter to settle the bill before leaving, the waitress informed him it had already been paid. Just then, Su Wan happened to walk by him, gave a soft smile, "I’ve already taken care of it, let’s go."
Some uninformed men nearby inadvertently heard what Su Wan said, and in their hearts, it felt like a million wild horses running through: Look! Look! Other people’s girlfriends! All other people’s girlfriends!
When she returned home that night, everyone was back. As soon as she entered, her uncle, who was watching TV in the living room, turned his head upon hearing the noise, "Wanwan’s back."
Her aunt happened to walk in from the balcony and casually asked, "Went out with friends?"
Su Wan nodded with a smile, "Yes, went for a late night snack."
A burst of slipper-clad feet pattering sounded, and Qin Mu barreled out of the room like a whirlwind, "Sis! Where’d you go?"
"Went for a late-night snack," Su Wan replied as she sat in a chair to change her shoes, thinking of the concert, she asked, "Want to go to the concert tomorrow night?"
