Fu Weiheng responded pleasantly, "Hmm, no rush, we have plenty of time."
...
After a brief lunch, Fu Weiheng took Su Wan to the ensemble.
The black Cayenne stopped in front of the Endless building, Su Wan looked curiously at the exquisite LOGO at the entrance, then turned to Fu Weiheng and asked, "Didn’t you say we were changing locations?"
Fu Weiheng unbuckled his seatbelt, unfazed, "Yes, from the small practice room on the tenth floor to the large practice room on the seventeenth floor."
Su Wan: "..."
...
The two entered the elevator one after the other, heading straight to the seventeenth floor. As the elevator doors opened, standing by the entrance was a young man in a suit, looking refined and handsome. Seeing Fu Weiheng come out of the elevator, Zhang Lin gave a slight bow, "Sir."
"Zhang Lin, please take her to the practice room first." Fu Weiheng instructed in a deep voice, then turned to Su Wan with a gentle expression, "I’ll be there shortly."
Su Wan: "Oh."
In the practice room, everyone sat on chairs, holding their instruments, chatting and relaxing. Seeing someone push the door open, they all quieted down and looked toward the entrance.
Behind Zhang Lin was a beautiful woman with fair skin, willow eyebrows, almond-shaped eyes, and long, glossy black hair cascading over her shoulders. She wore a beige sleeveless long dress, looking fresh and charming.
Zhang Lin stepped aside, introducing with a smile, "This is the newly recruited cellist for the ensemble, Su Wan."
Su Wan nodded and smiled softly, "Hello everyone."
"Hello, welcome to Heng Yan." The first to greet her was a tall foreign man, holding a dark brown violin in his hand, smiling slightly at Su Wan. His Chinese was quite clumsy, "My name is John, I’m the First violinist."
Su Wan replied with a smile, "Nice to meet you."
Subsequently, the other members of the ensemble greeted Su Wan one after another, offering simple self-introductions. Although the ensemble was founded abroad, most of the members were Chinese who had studied overseas, along with a few enthusiastic and cheerful foreigners.
The door to the practice room was pushed open once more, and as Su Wan was chatting with a young girl, she instinctively looked up. The person who entered was a man she knew, wearing a shirt and trousers, appearing steady and composed. He wore gold-rimmed glasses, exuding warmth and elegance.
Su Wan knew that Ye Yin Huan had once been an outstanding viola player, so she wasn’t too surprised by his presence here.
When Ye Yin Huan saw Su Wan, he was briefly taken aback, but quickly recovered and greeted her, "Reporting to the ensemble?"
Su Wan smiled and nodded, "Yes."
Ye Yin Huan patted her on the shoulder, encouragingly, "Work hard."
"Ivan." A low male voice suddenly came from behind.
The two instinctively turned their heads, Fu Weiheng with a stern face, furrowed his thick brows slightly. He walked over to Su Wan, forcefully creating a distance between her and Ye Yin Huan, expressing his displeasure to Ye Yin Huan, "Aren’t you going to prepare for practice?"
Ye Yin Huan found Fu Weiheng’s sudden displeasure rather baffling, but then remembered what his wife had mentioned last night about Neil and Su Wan, and suddenly everything made sense. It just wasn’t obvious that Neil was this jealous.
"Alright, alright." Ye Yin Huan smiled slightly, then turned and walked onto the conductor’s podium.
"Mr. Ye he..." Su Wan opened her mouth in surprise, looking up at Fu Weiheng.
"Just an unprofessional conductor." Fu Weiheng was greatly displeased with Ye Yin Huan’s earlier action of patting Su Wan’s shoulder.
Su Wan: "..."
