CHAPTER 40: CHAPTER 015 FONDNESS FOR ONE THING ONLY
Never in her life did Su Wan think she’d set foot in a police station. The car owner, unwilling to be scratched and beaten, reported the incident to the police on the spot.
Xu Chengyang, undeterred, angrily added another kick, standing firm: "Bring it on, I’m ready to wait it out!"
So, accompanied by the rhythmic police sirens, the three of them were taken to the police station together...
Their statements were taken by a kind-looking middle-aged policeman. Su Wan finished her statement first, and when Xu Chengyang came out of the interrogation room, the policeman seriously reminded them: "Since you resorted to violence, you’ll need to resolve it privately or proceed with a lawsuit, depending on the victim’s decision."
In the end, they were told they needed relatives to bail them out.
Yao Ye had returned to her hometown, Xu Chengyang was not local, and Su Wan had no relatives here. Suddenly, there was no one to save them.
Her phone vibrated with a new message, and Su Wan opened it to see a message from Fu Weiheng: "What are you doing?"
She absentmindedly replied, putting the phone back in her pocket.
Xu Chengyang felt guilty: "Wanwan, I’m sorry. It’s all my fault for being impulsive and dragging you into this..."
Su Wan smiled and reassured her: "I’m fine, don’t overthink it."
Waiting like this wasn’t a solution. Xu Chengyang thought for a moment and reached into her pockets. Her fingers touched something hard and sharp on the left, which she curiously pulled out to see. It was a business card she’d asked for from Lawyer Jiang a few days ago!
Xu Chengyang suddenly seemed to grab onto a lifeline, waving the card excitedly in front of Su Wan, exclaiming: "Wanwan! I’ve found someone!"
Su Wan focused and took a closer look—
Lawyer Jiang Zhiyan.
Without a second thought, Xu Chengyang pulled out her phone and dialed the number on the card.
Before long, the call connected, and a clear and gentle voice came through: "Hello."
Xu Chengyang felt a bit relieved, nearly tearing up: "Lawyer Jiang, help..."
Jiang Zhiyan understood the situation, chuckled lightly, and said calmly: "It’s a small matter, I’ll be there soon."
Xu Chengyang was immensely grateful: "Thank you so much, Lawyer Jiang, I’ll make sure to pay your lawyer fee later!"
"No need for the lawyer fee, just have Fu Weiheng thank me properly instead." Jiang Zhiyan put on his coat, heading out the door.
Xu Chengyang: "God?"
The call ended, and Su Wan looked at Xu Chengyang’s bewildered expression and asked, "What’s wrong?"
Xu Chengyang said, "Jiang Zhiyan said I don’t have to pay him, just have the God thank him properly. But what does this have to do with the God?"
Su Wan pondered for a moment and shook her head.
Fifteen minutes later, Jiang Zhiyan appeared at the entrance of the police station.
Su Wan’s gaze had just met his when, in the next second, she was caught off guard by the person following behind Jiang Zhiyan.
Fu Weiheng, dressed in a black suit, looked somber and somewhat displeased.
Su Wan immediately lowered her head, staring at her shoes, feeling extremely guilty.
She had just told him she was in her dorm reading...
At this point, Xu Chengyang noticed the two striking figures, quickly stood up, and waved: "Lawyer Jiang, over here!"
Hearing her, Fu Weiheng’s eyes immediately followed the direction, seeing them sitting safely on the bench, his expression relaxed, and he felt some relief.
Jiang Zhiyan was well-known in the industry for his efficient and decisive work. In no time, all matters were settled. Not only did the bullying car owner not demand any compensation from them, but he also properly apologized to both of them.
Xu Chengyang glanced at the car owner’s sneaky demeanor, crossed her arms over her chest, and scoffed dismissively: "Know your place and scram!"
Jiang Zhiyan: "..."
The night had fallen, and the streetlights outside the police station illuminated the cement road beyond the door. In the empty parking space, two police cars were parked, with a shiny Cayenne parked between them, appearing somewhat out of place.
Fu Weiheng took out the car key and unlocked the car. Su Wan dared not take a big step, pausing intermittently while following behind, gradually falling behind the person in front of her.
Fu Weiheng reached the car door but didn’t open it. Instead, he stood there, waiting patiently for the person advancing at a snail’s pace.
At this moment, Su Wan raised her eyes, meeting his. He gestured for her to come forward.
The deep, dark eyes appeared even more penetrating in the night.
Thus, someone couldn’t help but quicken her pace...
He opened the passenger door for her, the meaning was clear.
Su Wan hesitated for a moment, reluctantly got into the car, only to find that Xu Chengyang was nowhere to be found. Slightly puzzled, she hurriedly asked, "Where’s my roommate?"
"I had Jiang Zhiyan take her back first."
"Back?"
