CHAPTER 51: CHAPTER 20: MEANING UNCLEAR_2

When Su Wan snapped back to reality, she found Fu Weiheng had somehow ended the call and was standing in front of her, leaning down to make eye contact. His deep, dark eyes made Su Wan’s heart skip a beat, and she froze on the sofa, unsure of what to do.

As Fu Weiheng’s handsome face drew near, Su Wan came to her senses, her gaze falling on his lips, suddenly feeling dry-throated and flustered: "You... what do you want to do..."

Fu Weiheng remained motionless, slightly tilting his long eyelashes, his voice low and enticing: "Kiss you."

Su Wan’s throat tightened, she quickly turned her head and sprang up, nervously sputtering: "I, need to go to the bathroom!"

Watching her flee in disarray, Fu Weiheng couldn’t help but chuckle, casually picking up the cello from the sofa and following her out.

When Su Wan emerged from the bathroom, Fu Weiheng was already waiting by the elevator. He was looking down at his phone, her cello slung over his left shoulder. Standing there, his posture was tall and graceful, the hallway lights casting a soft shadow across his features, making him appear irresistibly handsome.

Su Wan glanced at him for a moment, thinking to herself: He really is good-looking.

She stepped forward, pressed the elevator button, and stood beside Fu Weiheng, reaching out to take the cello: "Let me have it."

Fu Weiheng, however, held her hand instead, his eyes full of tenderness and indulgence: "It’s too heavy, let me do it."

Her figure was reflected in his dark pupils, unfathomable.

Su Wan’s heart softened. Thinking it was past working hours and unlikely anyone else would be around, she stopped refusing and entered the elevator with him hand in hand.

The elevator went straight to the underground parking lot. It wasn’t until they were near the Cayenne car that Su Wan belatedly remembered the main issue: "What did you call me upstairs for just now..."

Fu Weiheng unlocked the car, placed the cello in the back seat, then walked over to the passenger side door for her and asked: "Did you look at the sheet music distributed today?"

Su Wan nodded and sat down: "I did."

He closed the door, got into the driver’s seat, fastened his seatbelt, started the car, and asked her: "Do you think it’s difficult?"

Su Wan shook her head: "There’s plenty of time, I will get it with practice, why?"

He smiled faintly, his eyes gentle: "I’m just worried you’ll be too tired."

Su Wan was indifferent: "It’s nothing much." Secretly she added, you have to practice even more.

Turns out he called her up just to ask about this.

Little did she know, Fu Weiheng’s real intention was not the music but simply to go back together with her.

"What do you want to eat?" Fu Weiheng pressed the accelerator, leisurely driving onto the road.

Su Wan lowered the car window, casually said: "French fries..."

Mr. Xu frowned: "Why do you like eating these things?"

Su Wan gave an awkward smile: "...I just said it casually."

Fu Weiheng said nothing, eventually driving silently to the McDonald’s near Yan University.

Well, indulging her once in a while wasn’t too much.

On Friday after class, Xu Chengyang suggested going to karaoke to unwind with some drinks, and Yao Ye and Su Wan couldn’t withstand his persistent insistence. Thinking she had been holed up in the practice room day and night recently for a competition, she agreed.

After dinner, the three of them arrived at the KTV a little after seven. Xu Chengyang booked a small private room and ordered some snacks and beer.

Yao Ye had spent all day buried in the library and wasn’t feeling up to it.

Su Wan... couldn’t hold a tune.

And so, in this large private room, Mr. Xu held an ice-cold beer in one hand, raised the microphone with the other, dancing energetically in front of the TV screen as he sang: "Flying freely in your heart..." After singing five songs in a row, even Xu Chengyang was worn out. Putting down the microphone, he opened a bottle of beer and approached the two: "You two, what are you, doorkeepers? Stand still, come sing!"

Su Wan: "..."

Yao Ye, exhausted: "You sing, just vent yourself."

Xu Chengyang urged: "If you’re here, join in, let’s make it worth the money." Saying this, he poured a glass of beer and held it to Yao Ye’s lips.

Yao Ye glanced at him, hesitated for a moment, then took a sip, thinking oh well, I’m already here.

So Sister Yao got up to choose a song.

Xu Chengyang picked up an empty glass, grinning mischievously at Su Wan, who reached out to snatch the beer bottle from him, turning passive into active: "I’ll do it myself."

And thus, Mr. Xu was thoroughly contented, indulging gleefully with Sister Yao.

Su Wan, not a good drinker, hadn’t eaten much dinner, after three bottles of cold beer, her face was flushed, feeling a bit dizzy.

Her phone rang with a WeChat notification; she took a glance, it was a message from Fu Weiheng: "What are you doing."

Su Wan honestly replied: "Drinking."

The next second, Mr. Xu’s call came through: "Where are you?"

Su Wan rubbed her temples, stepped out of the room: "KTV."

Fu Weiheng grabbed his coat from the hanger: "Specific location."

Su Wan: "Red Hall in East Lake District..."
