I screamed, shoving my way through the crowd and grabbing her arm, rage burning through my veins like moltenva. “What the hell are you saying? SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!”

She sneered at me. “You really are a pathetic fool. How long are you going to keep protecting that rapist?”

“What rapist?!” I shouted back. “Grayson is my boyfriend! God, you’re doing it again–you’re ruining my life!”

“Yeah, everyone in the pack knows Alpha Grayson and Ms. Collins are together,” someone in the crowd muttered. “You’d better be careful. using a noble is already a serious crime. using an Alpha is basically suicide.”

“I’m not afraid!” my mom lifted her chin, her voice sharp and fearless. She acted like a martyr. “As long as I can protect my daughter, as long as I can get Aria what she deserves, I don’t care who I’m up against. Grayson Hart is a monster. He preyed on my innocent daughter and raped her-”

“Stop. STOP!” I screamed until my throat tore. Every filthy word against Grayson felt like a knife stabbing into my chest. He didn’t deserve this. Not after everything he’d done for me.

“Don’t listen to her!” I shouted over the chaos, forcing my voice louder than hers. “It’s all lies! Grayson and I are fine. We’re two adults, and what we have is consensual. Nothing my mother says is true.”

“Then why won’t he marry you?” my mom shot back, her voice like ss cutting through the air. “Everyone in this pack is waiting for him to marry. And yet you’re right there, by his side, and still he turns you down. Why?”

The shbulbs went insane. The reporters leaned in closer with their cameras. I could just smell their hunger for scandal, like flies drawn to blood.

Mom knew exactly what she was doing–dangling her usations like bait. She knew the raping thing was ridiculous and nobody was going to believe it. Yet she still said it. Because she wanted to stir chaos, to get more people’s attention.

She didn’t give a fuck about how much those attentions would cost me.

I yanked her up from the ground, shaking, ring into her eyes. My whole body was trembling.

“I’m not asking much from you,” I said, my voice breaking. “I don’t even ask you to be kind or loving. All I want… is for you to stand aside and stop wrecking my life. And yet even that’s too hard for you! Why the fuck do you have to destroy everything I have?!”

She raised one perfect brow. Her beauty twisted into something venomous. “Don’t be stupid, Aria. One day you’ll thank me.”

“I won’t! Stop this madness now, or I’ll hand you over to Grayson myself. And you know what he’ll do to you.”

Sheughed, like she could see right through my weakness. “Would you really? Aria, I’m your mother”

In that moment, my hatred for her outweighed every scrap of longing for family.

I was just about to tell her I would when she suddenly shrieked, clutching her chest as she was hurled several feet back. She dropped, blood spraying from her mouth.

One of Grayson’s guards appeared beside me. I think his name is Kevin. His face was like carved stone. He stalked forward, pinned my mother down, and ground her into the floor.

I spun around.

Arge crowd of people was standing in front of the packhouse. There was the entire council of elders, including Nova, who was giving me worried looks.

At the very front stood Grayson. He wore a te–gray suit that sharpened the steel of his eyes, the perfect cut sculpting his tall, powerful frame.

He was gorgeous, breathtaking,manding. Untouchable.

And yet I couldn’t even bring myself to look at him. Not with the shame burning inside of me.

The world went silent. Not a single soul dared to breathe.

And then Grayson’s voice cut through the air like a de: “Kevin.”

“Yes, Alpha.”

The guard twisted my mother’s arm with brutal force. A sickening crack split the silence, followed by her piercing scream. Her left arm was broken.

Gasps rippled through the crowd as I pped a hand over my mouth. But Kevin didn’t just stop there. He snapped her other arm. Her cries became raw and animalistic, her face drenched in cold sweat.

Then he let her fall, putting one foot on her right leg, and looked to Grayson for more instructions.

“I didn’t tell you to stop.” Grayson said freezingly.

Kevin stomped down. Another crack. Her eyes rolled back. She had lost all strength to scream.

The punishment didn’t stop until every one of her limbs was shattered. By then, the entire crowd was hushed in horror.

And I was shaking so violently I could barely breathe. The words to stop this torture hovered on my tongue, but I couldn’t force them out.

Because I felt his eyes on me.

Watching me. Testing me. And my instincts screamed at me: Don’t intervene. It’d only make it worse.

“I’m not a patient man. Everyone knows that.”

Grayson stood over my mom, gazing down at her broken body like she was nothing more than filth.

“The only reason you’re still breathing is because Aria begged for you. But never mistake that for me letting ba /bshameless bitch like you walk over me.”

My momy there, wheezing. After a long pause, she forced out a raspyugh:

“You think torture will shut me up? Nay. Not going to happen. All this… it only proves is what a cold, heartless bastard you are!”

“Still so defiant,” Grayson sneered. “Makes me wonder if all that cowardice you showed before was bjust /ban bact/bb./b”

“An act? You’ve never been a parent. You don’t know what a mother will do for her child. For Aria… for her happiness… You could y me alive and I still wouldn’t stop.”

Every eye in the crowd turned to me, their expressions tangled–pity, suspicion, disgust. And I felt like I was burning alive.

Grayson’s voice thundered with fury. “If you really care about her happiness, then you should agree to save her life with me.”

“Not without a condition!” she rasped. “You marry her. Make her your Luna first!” fn8ce3 Fresh chapters posted on Find_Novel(./fn8ce3

There it was.

Only a few people knew about my mom’s condition before. And now, it’s out in the open. For every elder, every reporter, every soldier to hear.

As I had expected, the reaction was explosive. It’s like everyone started shouting at the same time.

“FUCKING BULLSHIT!” one elder snarled. “Threaten our Alpha to marry her with her life? Who do you think you are?! Her pathetic life isn’t worth that much!”

“Our Alpha deserves a perfect Luna. He won’t be ckmailed into marrying Aria Collins.”

“She wasn’t worthy of our Alpha before! And certainly not now! A stripper’s daughter as our Luna? Never going to happen!”

My mother writhed on the ground, moving like a pathetic worm. I was actually amazed by how loud her voice still was:

“So your Alpha gets to fuck my daughter for free? No. If he won’t marry her, then he owes us at least ten billion!”

What the hellb??? /b

I was so shocked that I nearly fainted.

The following uproar was deafening. Cameras shed like lightning. To think that every word of conversation was being recorded now, possibly being screamed alive, made me want to disappear into thin air.

“Ten billion?!” an elder barked. “So what–you’re pimping your own daughter now? And what makes her worth ten billion? She’s not worth ten dors to me!”

“She’s beautiful,” my mom screamed. “Look at her face, her body–just look at her! She’s standing right there!”

Cameras swung to me. I staggered back, shaking, whispering, “Stop… please stop….” But nobody heard my quiet pleading. Nobody stopped.

My mom carried on, “She’s pure, she’s kind, and she’s young. Very young! She was still a virgin when she got with your Alpha! Virginse at a higher price!”

“That’s bullshit,” an elder spat. “Everyone knows Jace Carter popped her virginity long before she met the Alpha. She’s damaged goods.”

No.

No, no, no. I couldn’t take this.

They were tearing me apart right in front of me, like I didn’t even exist. My body, my face, my virginity. While the whole world watched. I felt like I’d been stripped naked, paraded through the city.

I wanted to scream. To run. But I couldn’t move.

I could only stand there, mortified, and let shame swallow me whole…

“ENOUGH!” Grayson suddenly roared.

The crowd fell silent immediately.

Then a pair of arms steadied me. I turned slowly and saw Nova. She gave me a firm nod, then red at the elders.

“Shame on you!” She snapped. “Not a single one of you has shown this woman the respect she deserves.”

The elders exchanged unconvinced looks. Then one muttered, “Her mom’s the one started it—”

“Even so. This is a personal matter between Alpha and Aria. None of you gets toment on it.”

“Kevin.” Grayson’s voice was lethal. “Destroy every camera. Make sure no footage or audio leaves here.”

“Yes, Alpha.”

Tears welled up in my eyes. Even now, he was still protecting me.

“Wait. We’re not done negotiating here!” my mother cried. “Marriage or ten billion, you still haven’t- UGHHH!”

Grayson’s boot pressed into her throat, cutting her voice off in an instant.

I gasped, staring at them in horror, knowing that all it would take was the smallest push and she’d be gone
