CHAPTER 49: CHAPTER 49 BARTER

A black rift opened in front of the second girl and she disappeared from Ethan’s sight, immediately he heard a thud and turned around and the wolf was on the ground, the girl who vanished appeared beside the wolf and cut its legs causing it to fall to the ground.

A wind blew past him and the second girl was covered in lightning as she struck the wolf’s head before it could stand up paralyzing the wolf with the shock.

’Woah ’ Ethan muttered subconsciously.

"This isn’t normal at all, what’s a 2nd stage wolf doing here, I hope it hasn’t killed anybody" one of the girls spoke.

"The male" the second girl muttered as she turned towards Ethan who was already walking towards them.

"Thank you for saving me" Ethan spoke.

"You don’t need to thank us, we are ready to help any time, but what are you doing out here are you an adventurer?" The first girl asked.

"No, I just wandered here when looking for something, thank you again for saving me, I don’t know what would have happened," Ethan said.

"You are a male, it’s an obligation to save you when you are in danger and you look tired, should I take you back to the city?"

"I need a moment to rest then I’ll be able to walk back" Ethan answered.

"Ohh, you don’t need to work back, I work with spatial magic and I already marked my apartment so I can take you to the city through there, you can rest at my apartment before going back home"

"Oh, thank you, that would be ideal" Ethan muttered, he had been in this world long enough to know the girls wanted to have sex with him.

Ethan muttered and the blade on the sword caught on fire and Ethan slashed the head of the wolf, he couldn’t decapitate it but it was enough to kill the wolf in one hit.

’I knew it, I don’t have to defeat beasts, I just have to finish them off to get the reward’ Ethan muttered as he placed his sword back.

"You are a mage, a good one right?" Lara asked as she walked towards the wolf’s dead body and brought out a knife to extract the crystal.

"Not yet, I’m still training, I’m going to apply to the magic academy, I hope I pass the test" Ethan spoke.

"Really, you really want to apply to the academy, don’t you want to do something else like all the males?" Cynthia asked.

"What do all the males do?"

"Well, handsome ones like you mostly work for noble families, and some work for families who are rich while some work for brothels, I know a brothel where a male who isn’t half as handsome as you works, and he gets paid even for goofing around," Cynthia said.

"When is the test, both of us are heading to another city tomorrow afternoon, but we’ll be back in a day and we can help you train all day if you want," Cynthia said.

"The test is in two days, but no worries, I can handle it on my own, I just need to find a training ground, find someone who has a deep understanding of magic and is willing to train me, and then train before the test in two days" Ethan muttered to himself loud enough for the girls to hear.

"Since it’s in days, we can hold our trip for a day or two, right Lara?" Cynthia asked.

"Of course, but you know, our time is valuable so you’ll need like you know, a payment for our time" Lara spoke.

"And I really don’t have money," Ethan said.
