Mage Legend
Chapter 777 - 44: The Plan (Part 2)
"Stop pretending, Zarra must be hiding somewhere, right? Maybe she's working on a plan to rescue you." Lynch smiled and said, "She can't return to the Dark Elf World anymore and can only live with you in the Surface World. She will definitely try to rescue you. Also, I have quite a bit of confidence in your skills and strength."
"You're right." Regula nodded, "So, tell me, what kind of task is it that even the Head of Mages cannot accomplish and needs my help?"
Lynch took out the Eight-Headed Snake Emblem from his pocket and tossed it to the Martial Monk. "Through the Snake-men's black monolith, this Evil Emblem allows you to traverse various Snake-men camps and fortresses. What I need is intelligence on the enemy's entire transportation network — what each location is used for, what items are stored, and how many troops there are."
Regula frowned, his fingers stroking the Eight-headed Evil Emblem. This task was indeed extremely challenging, as it was impossible to know what lay on the other side while traversing those Teleportation Stones. A slight mistake could easily lead to falling into the enemy's ambush.
"Regula, whatever reward you want, just name it." Lynch was quick to add, not wanting to miss the chance to enlist the help of someone like the Martial Monk. His ability to calmly face attacks from Wislin, Morgan, and Deluo showed that his unique martial arts had clearly surpassed any other fighting technique in power.
"After completing this, I want you to send me home." Regula put the Evil Emblem into his pocket. "I've tried countless times to find a way back to my world but to no avail. If there's any hope, it lies with you, the Great Mage. I want to take Zarra and leave this place, returning to my homeland." He showed a rare smile, "She'll be quite sensational there."
Lynch nodded and replied, "I will do everything I can to search for a possible way. Since you were able to come here in the past, there must be a way back. Don't worry."
"Then I'm off, I'll come back to look for you in about a month." The Martial Monk said, heading out.
"Wait!" Lynch rummaged through his Spatial Bag. "Here's a ring that can make you invisible, but its usage time is very limited each day. If you encounter any danger, break this statue. It will summon a powerful enough creature to buy you some time."
Regula took the items without even looking at them and put them in his pocket, nodded, and left the dungeon of the Five Realms Fortress.
Lynch peeked out of the cell, where four ladies were still engrossed in a card game. "Regula is gone, I'm going to find Wislin now." Lynch called out towards the table, but got no response. Little Angel Soka reflexively raised her hand to answer but only opened her mouth and held back, continuing to play cards.
"Never mind, I'll just go by myself." Lynch shook his head, holding the Arcane Wand as he hurriedly left the place.
After the mage's figure was completely out of sight, Little Angel tugged on Yilinrui, pouting as she asked, "How long do we have to keep doing this? Why can't we pay any attention to Brother Lynch?"
"I... I don't know either." Yilinrui lowered her head, sighed softly, "Maybe this is the right way to do it."
"It's not helpful at all!" Eruiyes said, while stuffing the chips she won on the table into her bag. "You all stay here and sulk, I'm going out for some air."
Zilvra glanced at the Desire Demon, snorted coldly. She got up, holding Soka's little hand and also walked out: "Soka, let's see how seriously you've been practicing lately and to what extent you've reached."
"Huh? I want to play with Brother Lynch, not go practice archery." The Little Angel struggled twice, but ultimately gave up under Zilvra's stern gaze.
With the Martial Monk's help, Lynch felt it was the best time to execute the counter-offensive plan. Besides the necessary intelligence, they also needed enough manpower. The mage had been planning to strike the key parts of the Snake-men's transportation network. If they had new kinds of weapons besides powerful siege hammers, it would be best to eliminate them in the bud.
"I'm afraid all members of the Mage Association will have to participate in this operation, and the consumption of scrolls and Magic Wands will be enormous." Lynch silently planned in his heart. "I just hope this action won't immediately awaken the Magic God."
