"They want to create terror," the Great Mage said in a low voice.

"Although the number of Snake-men is large, it is not yet an absolute majority in the land they wish to conquer. If they want to establish a ruling position, they must take a strong stance. Throughout history, there have been only two ways to rule: one is to give people hope, the other is to instill terror. I don't think the Snake-men can adopt the first method among a species completely different from them. So, spreading terror is the only effective means."

"What you say makes sense, but what I need now is a solution," Wislin replied. "If we can't stop it, then no matter how good the theory, it has no practical value!"

"That's precisely why I need to borrow 100 of your most elite warriors," Lynch said with a smile, comforting Wislin. "If the situation was completely hopeless, I would have already surrendered to the Great Serpent with the Mage Association. Judging by our power, he would certainly provide very generous treatment."

"If that day really comes, I will prove my loyalty to the Light God," Wislin said slowly, deliberately. "I will never surrender to the Snake-men!"

"Of course, you won't do that," Lynch replied. "But you won't have any opportunity to die for your god either. I will change your memories to make you forget those pasts that would cause you pain."

"Would you really do that?" Wislin snorted. "Use a spell against your own friend? I'd rather you engulf me with a fireball than have me live in a daze."

"So, you must fight for victory; only then can you preserve your memories." Lynch clapped his hands twice and said, feigning surprise, "Ah! Now we have digressed. Those 100 people I needed, are you giving them or not?"

"Come with me, I'll introduce you to the best warriors," Wislin stood up, tidied up his equipment, and gathered his spirits. He always had to show his most confident side to his soldiers and inspire them.

"Perhaps your definition of the best doesn't necessarily meet my requirements," the mage floated lightly beside the commander, like a ghost in broad daylight.

All the officers of the Five Realms Fortress were gathered and were responsible for selecting the best soldiers. All the warriors were very excited; everyone wanted to join this lineup and serve their master. Fortunately, Wislin usually emphasized discipline and efficiency, so it wasn't long before about 500 warriors were gathered in the square.

After countless fierce battles with the Snake-men, the surviving soldiers were the elite of the elite. Wislin looked at his subordinates, feeling the trusting and passionate gaze in their eyes, really unsure how to select the best ones.

Lynch patted Wislin on the shoulder and softly said, "Leave the rest to me."

Wislin nodded and instructed the soldiers to pay attention to Lynch's speech.

These soldiers admired everything Wislin did, but that didn't mean they'd feel the same way about Lynch. Even if the mage had earlier uprooted the whole Snake-man Camp alone, it only left them with an impression of "terrifying, formidable." What Lynch had done had long surpassed what these warriors could comprehend. They simply wouldn't understand the essential difference between a legendary level Lightning Storm spell and a regular Explosive Fireball. Only Wislin's bravery on the battlefield was something they could understand, imitate, but found very difficult to achieve. That alone could earn their true admiration.

"I'm sure you know I'm that Lynch," the mage's voice, amplified by a spell, reached every corner of the square. "You may be disappointed because I'm the one recruiting people, not Wislin. But in the end, you'll find that I'll be a better collaborator than Wislin—because I'm much richer than him."

There was no laughter on the square, and the soldiers kept their eyes fixed on Lynch. The only reason they did so was that Wislin had just commanded them to.

"Alright, I do need some humorless people, so I'll be as brief as possible," Lynch pointed his magic wand at his empty left hand, and then he summoned a ball of fire. "I just need you to prove your strength, and that's enough."

After saying that, he glared at the fireball and quickly chanted a spell. As he raised his arm high, the small fireball had already expanded more than tenfold, emitting a strong light and heat.

Then, Lynch threw this fireball towards the center of the field.
