The snake-men pressed in step by step, trapping Lynch and his group of uninvited guests with no way out. Suddenly, a piercing sound erupted as a giant spider, as tall as a three-story building, crashed through about twenty snake-men, appearing out of thin air from the center of their ranks.

"Hurry up and set the Dwarf Bombs!" Lynch discarded the now-useless Summoning Scroll to the ground, holding the Arcane Wand in front of him, and shouted to his teammates, "Gather together as much as possible, cover each other! And watch out for arrows from above!"

The snake-men were initially uncertain about the purpose of the mage group, after all, so far, only those serving the serpent could pass through the Black Stone Portal. The surrounding maneuver was merely because this was a military restricted area, where entry and exit were forbidden without proper orders for safety's sake.

The moment the enormous Demon Hunting Spider appeared, the snake-man troops immediately understood the opponents' identity. They simultaneously hurled their weapons toward the center of the platform, spears and javelins pouring down on Lynch's group like a tsunami intermixed with ice blades.

The Paladins raised their shields, securely covering the mages beneath them. Although they did their utmost, the thrown weapons from all directions found it easy to slip through the dead angles in their defense.

"Rainbow Light Magic Wall!" Struggling to finish the incantation, Lynch enveloped the area around the Teleportation Stone with a barrier glowing in resplendent rainbow colors. The javelins dashed into the Rainbow Light Magic Wall, bursting into layers of purplish-red light spheres. Ordinary weapons were turned to ashes, failing to penetrate even from the edge stand.

Occasionally, a few exceptional Magic Weapons managed to pass through this barrier, striking the knights' shields with a scorching smell and black smoke trailing behind. However, because their impact had significantly weakened, they posed no real threat.

"Hurry with the bomb setup, I'll hold them off for now!" Lynch traced a glowing Magic Rune in the air, causing the snake-men rushing from the south to slow down immediately, as if trapped in a sticky swamp.

"Damn it! There are too many of them!" The Shock Rune did not have sufficient power to freeze the snake-men's actions entirely. It merely numbed some of the enemies' muscles and then quickly wavered in midair, eventually transforming into a light sphere before it disappeared completely.

The summoned Demon Hunting Spider couldn't hold out for long either, soon falling under the swarm of snake-men guards. Its enormous body couldn't cover all directions and countless blades opened cuts on its body simultaneously. Seeing the spider was on the verge of collapse, unable to delay the snake-men's advance, Lynch immediately ordered the creature to explode itself.

This hellish creature, which feeds on devils, instantly turned into a yellow-green bomb, spewing its rank, pus-like innards in all directions. However, Lynch needed the web from the Demon Hunting Spider's abdomens, which, upon contact with air, became exceedingly sticky, binding nearby snake-men in place, rendering them motionless.

Many snake-men warriors futilely attempted to smash the Rainbow Light Magic Wall open, but their weapons only turned into scrap iron with each strike. Although this assault wasn't entirely ineffective, Lynch, who continually maintained a mental link with the barrier, could clearly feel the mounting pressure with each impact.

Snake-men at the back pushed forward, but the limited space couldn't accommodate such a vast troop deployment and movement. Many of the front warriors were shoved against the Rainbow Light Magic Wall, immediately suffering various magical counteractions. Some turned to stone, shattering into pieces upon hitting the ground; others suffered mental attacks, their eyes going dim as their souls were entirely absorbed by the barrier; yet another group had their flesh stripped away by intense corrosion effects, leaving only blood-drenched skeletons that collapsed at Lynch's feet.

If Lynch hadn't witnessed even more gruesome carnage before, it would have been difficult for him to maintain his composure. The ceaseless mutual slaughter between devils and demons had created countless brutal chaotic scenes. The departed souls and flesh of the fallen could even stain the dull sky of the Grey Ruins a bloody red, making the events at the snake-man camp seem less terrifying by comparison.
