Mage Legend
Chapter 802 - 51: Loneliness 2
Zilvra snatched the snakehead emblem, flipped over, and kicked the mage talking to her to the ground. The others turned their heads upon witnessing the unexpected event, only then sensing a hint of tension in the strange atmosphere, promptly realizing: Where has the Great Mage gone?
Soka initially wanted to come forward and inquire about the situation; she thought that Brother Lynch had sneaked away behind her back again, going somewhere else to have fun. However, seeing her sister's angry expression, the little angel stopped in her tracks, suddenly realizing it was not a good time to ask questions.
"You lowly creatures, what right do you have to let Lynch take on the dangers on your behalf!?" Zilvra shouted at the last group of Centaurs: "What reason is there for Lynch to be at the back? Which one of you thinks you deserve more protection than he does?"
The mages all hung their heads low, shrinking back, not daring to speak. Wislin's Knight blushed, his mouth opening and closing, not knowing what to say. After a long pause, he squeezed out a sentence: "We indeed have failed in our duty! There's nothing to explain. You can execute us!"
Zilvra rolled her eyes at them, leaving a sentence at the corner of her mouth: "Idiots, do your worthless lives deserve it? Thinking of avoiding the mental torment and regret this way, you wish!" Then, she grabbed Soka's wrist, dragging her toward the direction of the giant dragon.
The mages suddenly snapped to reality, realizing now wasn't the time for mutual blaming but a time for action. They futilely began using various spells to contact Lynch or tried to find out his location. However, to avoid the giant snake's surveillance, Lynch had long used powerful barriers to protect himself; how could ordinary people possibly find him? The mages gradually fumbled, even wanting to cast large-scale joint prophecy magic on the spot in the ruins of the Snake-men Fortress that was forcibly taken down. If it wasn't for the well-trained knights who still maintained a shred of sanity and immediately "escorted" this group of mages to the safety of the Five Realms Fortress, the Mage Association might not have flourished in the future.
Given confidence in Lynch's abilities, Zilvra gradually calmed down, no longer considering the worst-case scenario. As she and Soka flew back on the Black Dragon's back, she was already convinced that Lynch was in an important place, completing a secret task. Perhaps this task was too dangerous, or he had some unspoken reasons. But in any case, Lynch would show up on his own after a while.
The people of the All-Knowing Tower were also shocked by the news; some were very flustered, while others were extraordinarily calm. Martial Monk Regula, the guy who had been staying at the All-Knowing Tower after completing his task, had no reaction upon learning of Lynch's disappearance and continued to drink in the flying castle's tavern. According to him: "How could a guy like Lynch run into trouble?"
Eryies curled her lips and said slowly: "Even if Lynch fell into the bottomless abyss, the creatures there would treat him well. What are you worried about?" Then she muttered to herself in a low voice, "If another Desire Demon or Enchanting Demon dares to touch my prey, see if I don't tear them apart…"
The little angel only understood what happened at this moment, stunned for a good while before suddenly bursting into tears: "Wuuu… Brother Lynch sneaked out without even taking sister, something must have happened…" Tears, like broken pearls, rolled down her little face, dripping to the ground with a patter.
The Norton golem hurried over to comfort the little angel because it inherited part of Lynch's soul, so in its eyes, Soka and its sister were no different. However, Norton was not good with words and could only wave its eight arms randomly, flying around the angel in confusion. Unlike others, Norton clearly knew that its spiritual connection with Lynch had been severed for some time. So now, even as a golem, it began to feel fear and anxiety.
"Everyone quiet down!" Zilvra hugged Soka tightly, covering her mouth with her hand. The little angel's eyes were still brimming with tears, mumbling without making a sound, only able to tilt her head cautiously to look at her sister.
"If Lynch is fine, he will surely return; if something could harm someone like Lynch, then with our strength, we can't stop it. So now, shut your mouths and get back to work!" Zilvra looked at the dwarves, Rock Spirits, Deluo's self-defense regiment, and the giant Black Dragon, issuing orders like a commanding general: "Without Lynch's protection, the All-Knowing Tower is very likely to face the direct attack of the Snake-men army. If you think handing over a ruined castle to Lynch will have him thanking and praising you, then feel free to idle around here!"
