CHAPTER 59: LILLITHS DEN (1)

As the supposed noble focused his gaze on me I felt my hackles rise already wanting nothing to do with this creep. Saddly for me though he then stepped forwards whilst staring right at me. "You there, woman what’s your name?"

I blinked at him in mild shock that someone could genuinely be that rude, deciding that I truly didn’t care for his attitude I responded in kind. "You there pompous prick, don’t you know it’s polite to introduce yourself first?" Ok so I maybe went a touch over the top with that line based on the shocked ghasps that rippled out from the other adventures, but the look of absolute shock and indignation on the pompous fools face was truly worth it. Plus I could already tell that their was no reasonable way that our interaction wouldn’t end with us on poor terms so I was happy to tank the interaction from the start and give this boy some education in verbal sparing.

"How dare you speak to me in such a manner do you have any idea who I am!?" He eventually retorted whilst his face contorted.

I looked at him with a singular raised eyebrow for a moment before answering his quite stupid question given my original response to him. "I do dare, and no I do not know who you are or particularly care who you are. I don’t associate with.." I paused for a moment whilst obviously looking at him from top to bottom. "People like you."

His face contorted even further as a red flush of anger coloured his cheeks. "Oh but you will consort with vile half breeds then?" I think he meant it as an insult but honestly I just found it quite amusing.

"As opposed to dealing with someone like you? Yes I’d take Kanas company over yours any day of the week. Now are we done? I’d like to get some dinner made before nightfall." I raised my eyebrow at him in obvious question whilst he had a look of both surprise and scorn on his now ugly face as a vein nearly burst on his forehead.

"Y-y-you.."

"Me what?" I interrupted his stuttering response and got to watch in great amusement as he grew even more flustered.

"You will regret this you filthy peasant!" He nearly screamed at me, spittle even flew out of his mouth.

"Oh I already regret speaking to you, what a waist of time when I could have been doing something much more enjoyable, like oh I don’t know getting stabbed!" I replied with a wide smile as I batted my eyelashes at him. He splutter for a moment and looked like he wanted to draw his sword and charge me down but he was interrupted by one of his companions who grabbed his arm and shook his head before slowly pulling him away.

"Toodles!" I called out as he was dragged away by his companions. Then I looked around at the gaping adventures all around me, they had a look of profound shock, horror, amusement and I even saw one girl who gave me a big thumbs up as she tried to hold back a giggle. I smiled at her in particular before speaking out to the group as a whole. "Well that was fun, anyone know where I can set up our tent or do we just find a spot?" My wide grin elicited a few more folk to chuckle in either amusement or out of shock at how few fucks I gave about insulting that guy.

It was the woman that gave me a thumbs up who spoke up, "there is an empty spot near my team, I’ll show you the way?" I smiled widely at her before nodding and glancing back at my companions who had a mix of expressions. Kana looked a bit guilty but also gave me an appreciative glance, Zara looked to be torn between worried and amused at the whole situation. Then their was Amanda, who was even now glaring daggers in the general direction the pompous paladin went, her eyes were tinted crimson and I saw her gripping her dagger hilts tightly.

Smiling to myself I grabbed both of my lovers hands and began to pull them in the direction of the woman who called out, thankfully Zara did follow along behind us. Following along behind the woman I studied her properly for the first time. She wore a lovely set of blue and silver mage robes that hung loosely on her figure obscuring it from behind at least. However she had a pair of silver wings jutting from her back and a long silver and blue scaled tail swishing behind her lazily. Was she perhaps a dragonkin? I haven’t heard of that race before but could be. Her hair was a deep hazelnut brown and was tied up in a simple but elegant bun, only leaving her fringe and 2 bangs free to frame her face.

She eventually stopped in front of 2 decently sized tents where 2 others sat, a man and a woman both wearing similar leather armour, they looked almost identical apart from being different genders so I assumed them to be twins, they were both catkins with brown hair and fluffy ears. They looked up at our arrival and the man raised an eyebrow at the woman leading us. "Senitha why did you bring the one that so thourgly humiliated Lord Michael, I mean don’t get me wrong the prick had it comming but still this will bring scrutiny onto us." Well at least I had a name and title for the pompous paladin, but I think I’ll stick with my name for him if possible.

"Well I invited them to set up camp near us for eaxtly that reason, iv been looking for a chance to get back at him for pulling his previous stunt and then this darling came along and just might give me my best chance yet." This caused me to frown slightly, not exactly liking the prospect of getting caught up in some noble nonsense.

Senitha must have noticed my frown as she turned to me and smiled reassuringly before speaking up. "Don’t worry I’m not trying to get you caught up between our squabble but given that you are already on his shitlist by now why not get along with someone who has him on her shitlist?"

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend and all that eh?" I quote the old saying from Earth. I pause then as I have the sudden realisation that I have stopped thinking of Earth as home. Yeah I do now consider this world Azue to be my home, after all I have two women that I truly do love, I have a dragon daughter and a very sexual dryad bound to my soul. I have magic and I am actually powerful! Compared to my old life, well it’s no comparison really. Yeah I do miss some of my friends and my parents, but honestly my and the folks were never all that close, they would undoubtedly be upset by my passing but I cannt imagine them mourning me for too long... ok maybe that’s a bit harsh on them there...

My musings on family and home were interrupted when Senitha spoke up. "Hu don’t think iv heard that saying before now but I have to admit I do like it!" She paused for a moment then flushed and continued. "Oh but where are my manners, I haven’t introduced myself yet. My name is Lady Senitha Harbloom, but please just call me Senithia. These two are called Dalia and Daltia she gestured at the girl and boy catkin respectively. And oh there they are!" She exclaimed as two more people approached the campsite.

One was a hulking Demoness, she stood just shy of 7ft tall and had bright red skin, a singular horn jutted out from the middle of her forehead. So that would make her an oni? A great word was strapped to her back and she wore very little, only a thin strap of furs covered he small but still prominent bust and then tight black leather pants adorned her legs. Black hair was cut short and tied back into a ponytail going to just below her chin. And then their was her muscles, my god did she have muscles for days. I may have gotten slightly wet just looking at her bulging biceps. I quickly looked away from her to the last person to arrive.

He was also quite tall but not compared to the oni, and compared to everyone else he was quite generic looking. Wearing half plate and with black hair the human man was also equipped with a tall shield and long sword strapped to his waist.

Senitha continued as I was observing the two newcomers. "This here is Nashi and Craig the last 2 members of my team." She finished with a smile as she indicated the two arrivals.

Giving them a quick nod and a smile I turned back to Senitha and began to introduce us all to them in turn. "Well it is a pleasure to meet you all, my name is Lilliana but feel free to just call me Lilly. We then have Kana, Amanda and Zara. Lastly we have little Dawn here to round out our party." I hear a sharp intake of breath from Senitha and look up to see her eyes go wide and a hand covers her mouth which I could still tell wa hanging open in shock.

"I-is she a d-dragon?" She manages to stutter out, Dawn for her part was now only loosely hanging around my neck and was using one of my shoulders to sit up slightly as she looked over at the woman in question. I can feel Dawns interest in her through our bond and I can also tell that somehow Dawn feels like she can trust the woman so I decide to trust in her intuition and answer honestly.

"She is yes, I was entrusted her egg by a guardian plant as it passed away. I then looked after her egg and she chose to bond me once she hatched. I think of her as my daughter as odd as that may sound." i showed off the tattoo I received on my right bicep when binding her and smiled as I remembered when she first hatched and proceeded to scratch under dawn chin which made her begin to purr in contentment.

I then looked back up as Senitha took in another sharp breath at my statement. "By the gods, she really did bond to you, and it is a bond of equals!" After she said that she gave a deep bow towards the two of us causing my eyebrows to rise in confusion, thankfully she didn’t leave me wondering for long as she continued when she looked up and saw my confusion.

"Ahh it would appear you don’t quite understand the significance of what that means." I nodded at that as apparently it was quite the big deal indeed. "When separated from is parents a dragon egg will never hatch unless it is properly cared for and it feels safe in its current environment. Then once it hatches it will be able to feel the intentions of those around it, a newly born dragon will only ever bond with someone who is pure of heart and harbours nothing but love for it. So by little Dawn her choosing to bond with you, you have effectively been marked as a friend of all dragons. And as a dragonkin myself, well how can I not view you in a favourable light after finding that out!"
