CHAPTER 517: CHAPTER 377: THE NIGHT IS THICK_2

Sophie pondered for a moment before speaking, "Did you actually re..."

Before she could finish, a rustling sound outside the tent suddenly interrupted her unfinished words.

Sophie was about to continue, but the noise outside the tent grew clearer, forcefully cutting her off.

When the sound became completely audible, both Sophie and Li Jing noticed something unusual.

The noise wasn’t the rustle of the wind over the grass, nor the rustling of leaves; it sounded more like two objects rubbing and colliding.

Next, a clear and rhythmic panting sound came over.

Sophie’s face instantly flushed red, her eyes widened in disbelief, and she blurted out,

"No way... Is that coming from Johnson and Maria?"

Upon hearing the familiar noise, Li Jing’s mouth couldn’t help but twitch slightly.

He never imagined that Johnson and Maria would be so uninhibited.

Though they were a couple and some intimate actions were reasonable, to think they’d start clapping for love in the dead of night, in such unusual silence.

And with the tent’s poor sound insulation, their every move seemed to unfold right in front of Li Jing.

Furthermore, the sounds were extraordinarily clear, so clear that Li Jing was momentarily at a loss for words.

The two of them, who were just chatting, suddenly fell into an awkward and embarrassed silence.

In another tent not far away, the sound showed no sign of stopping, but rather grew even more intense.

"Wow, Johnson, you’re amazing! You’re better today than ever!"

Maria’s voice carried unabashed excitement.

"Maria, does it feel good?"

"Yes, it’s incredible!"

Amid their panting, these conversations kept coming through.

Sophie’s face turned beet red instantly, from her cheeks all the way to her ears.

Even without looking at Sophie, Li Jing could clearly sense her emotional fluctuation just from the gradually rapid and unsteady sound of her breathing.

Li Jing found it amusing and couldn’t help but tease, "It’s nothing unusual, really. They’re a couple, and such actions shouldn’t be so surprising."

Seeing Li Jing break the silence, Sophie’s initial shyness eased a little, and she softly said, "I understand, it’s just the soundproofing of this tent is really awful."

Li Jing laughed and said, "It’s just a thin layer of cloth, what kind of soundproofing can you expect?

Besides, we’re in the middle of the wilderness, with no noise from cars or the hustle and bustle of the city; it’s so quiet you can hear the leaves fall clearly.

Plus, with them being so loud, it’s normal for sound to travel over here."

Sophie didn’t respond, but Li Jing could clearly feel her embarrassment and awkwardness. So, Li Jing continued,

"If you don’t overthink it, you won’t feel so embarrassed. Haven’t you ever been through this kind of thing before?"

Sophie instantly blushed and snapped, "I’m not you, how could I have done such things? Do you think everyone in the world is like you?"

Li Jing was surprised and asked, "Really, you’ve never done it? This is your first time?"

Seeing Sophie not respond, he couldn’t help but ask again, "You’ve never had a boyfriend before?"

Sophie, both shy and annoyed, replied, "Having a boyfriend doesn’t mean you have to do those things. I shouldn’t be having this conversation with you, why is your mind so full of these thoughts!"

Li Jing was quite surprised to hear this, thinking Sophie, who’s usually so lively, turned out to be so naive.

Then, feeling curious, he asked, "Then how come your first reaction was to guess what they were doing?"

"Just because I haven’t eaten pork doesn’t mean I haven’t seen a pig run," Sophie retorted irritably, "I’m not some teenage girl who knows nothing; I just haven’t experienced it firsthand."

Li Jing suddenly understood and continued to probe, "Oh, so you’ve watched those films, right?"

At this point, Sophie fell into silence once more.

Li Jing could already sense her shyness, which amused him as he said, "Watching those films is perfectly normal, nothing to be shy about. I’ve watched a lot, used to watch quite a bit. Do you like watching those from Europe and America, Japan, or local ones?"

Sophie was incredibly embarrassed by this topic and snapped, "Can you please stop talking about this? Have you no shame? I don’t have a thick skin like you."

From her tone, Li Jing could quite imagine her bashful appearance.

Amused, Li Jing explained, "I was just helping you change the topic since you seemed so awkward and tense."

Hearing Li Jing’s explanation, Sophie realized her earlier reaction might have been a bit excessive, so she slightly softened her tone and responded to Li Jing,

"I’ve only watched those from Japan, and not that many, it was something a friend of mine showed me."

Right after she said it, Sophie felt heat rushing to her face, and her ears burning; she never imagined she would have this kind of conversation with a guy.

"Japanese ones?" Li Jing nodded and continued, "Their films are indeed well-made, given that it’s quite a developed industry over there, there’s a certain quality, indeed."

As he spoke, he couldn’t resist teasing again, "So after watching those, didn’t you ever think about getting a boyfriend?"

Sophie’s face turned even redder as she hurriedly said, "Come on, finding a boyfriend isn’t like that; you need to find a serious one, you can’t just go find a man to satisfy your desires, plus, I can take care of it myself."

As soon as she said it, she regretted it.

Hearing this, Li Jing slightly raised an eyebrow, revealing a look of sudden realization.

Sophie became so shy her face was completely flushed, she quickly withdrew her hand from the sleeping bag, and even though she knew he couldn’t see her in the dark, she kept waving it anyway,

"Alright, alright, enough, this kind of talk with you is way too improper, I’m done, I’m going to sleep."

Having said that, she quickly turned over, facing away from Li Jing, and fell silent.

Li Jing just chuckled and didn’t say anything more.

They finally managed to quiet down, but the noise from the next tent showed no signs of stopping, growing even more intense.

In the darkness, Sophie stayed silent, and Li Jing could clearly sense her trying hard to endure the awkwardness and discomfort inside.

Listening to the sounds coming from Johnson and Maria’s side, Li Jing couldn’t help but marvel quietly at the Europeans and Americans’ extraordinary stamina.

Over thirty or forty minutes had passed, and they didn’t seem to be taking a break at all.

Maria had always been very open during conversations, lively and outgoing, and now, even in this situation, she was totally unrestrained, letting her voice carry over without any concern about disturbing the pair in the nearby tent.

Li Jing couldn’t resist quietly remarking, "Wow, these Europeans and Americans sure are open-minded."

Sophie listened and after a moment of silence said softly, "But isn’t this a bit too open?"

Hearing Sophie’s grumble, Li Jing found it amusing but didn’t say anything, and they sank back into silence once more.

Yet unexpectedly, Johnson and Maria’s stamina far exceeded their imagination.

The constant noise lasted for over an hour, making it really hard for Sophie to bear any longer.

She tossed and turned, her body tense, her breathing somewhat rapid, trying to ignore the disturbing sounds in every way, but to no avail.

She silently hoped in her heart for this ’torment’ to end soon, for a moment of peace.

After an indeterminate amount of time, the noise from Johnson and Maria’s side finally ceased.

Sophie just relaxed, thinking she could finally sleep in peace, but then sounds came from their side again.

This time it wasn’t those former embarrassing sounds, but soft whispers and laughter.

Apparently, with calm restored, Johnson and Maria realized they shouldn’t disturb Li Jing and Sophie, deliberately lowering their voices.

Yet, in the serene stillness of the night, even with their lowered voices, the sound still traveled over, though it was hard to make out what exactly they were saying.

But Li Jing could make out that they were joking with each other, and the giggles inevitably reminded Li Jing and Sophie of what had happened before.
