CHAPTER 522: CHAPTER 380: VISITING THE HOSPITAL

When she mentioned "that kind of thing," her voice unconsciously dropped, and a faint blush appeared on her face.

Hearing this, Li Jing finally understood what Sophie meant and couldn’t help but find it amusing. A mischievous smile appeared on his lips as he said:

"What? Are you expecting me to do that kind of thing to you in your heart?"

Sophie’s eyes widened instantly at these words, and she hurriedly waved her hands in protest:

"No way! I was just asking, really, just casually asking.

If you had really done that kind of thing to me last night, I would have definitely refused sternly, and in a fit of impulsiveness, might even have called the police to have you arrested!"

As she spoke, she waved her hands, trying to make her rebuttal more convincing.

Li Jing found her anxious demeanor increasingly amusing and continued to press:

"So why are you suddenly asking about this now?"

Sophie chuckled, walked slowly around Li Jing, and carefully examined him from head to toe, as if appreciating a novel item.

Then she nodded and said with an air of seriousness:

"Hmm, I just suddenly felt that you’re not entirely hopeless; you do have some moral baseline.

If you had taken advantage of me last night while I was asleep, I definitely wouldn’t have let it go and would probably hate you for a lifetime, maybe even into the next life!"

Li Jing could clearly hear the seriousness in Sophie’s tone, and even though her words carried a playful element, he knew in his heart that she was not joking.

Reflecting on the past, Li Jing never liked forcing women; if the other party was unwilling, there was no meaning in forcing it.

Just like yesterday, when Sophie clearly rejected further intimate gestures, he naturally did not have any thoughts of forcing her from the beginning.

"I’ve said it before, even though I’m sometimes not that proper, I still have limits and a sense of responsibility."

Li Jing saw Sophie continuously sizing him up, a smile on his face, and he half-jokingly tested,

"What, do you think I’m not bad? How about we get to know each other more deeply tonight?"

"Pshaw!" At these words, Sophie’s face instantly turned red with embarrassment, and she retorted with irritation,

"You’re so shameless! Who wants to do that kind of thing with you! Last night and just now were already enough for you to take advantage."

Li Jing chuckled, said nothing more, and turned to leave the tent.

But just as he was about to step out, he suddenly felt a tightness on his wrist. Turning back, he realized it was Sophie holding his hand.

Li Jing looked puzzled, and before he could ask, Sophie tiptoed up, gently moving closer to give him a kiss on the cheek.

Li Jing was momentarily stunned, hadn’t yet recovered from this sudden action, when he heard Sophie say playfully:

"This is your reward for holding your boundaries last night."

With that, she skipped out of the tent like a cheerful little deer, leaving Li Jing standing there alone in a daze.

Li Jing lifted his hand to lightly touch the spot where he was kissed, the corners of his mouth involuntarily turning up, and a sweet sensation rose in his heart. He could clearly feel that Sophie’s attitude towards him had significantly changed after this incident.

After regaining his composure, Li Jing walked out of the tent to find Johnson and Maria already preparing breakfast.

The two greeted Li Jing and Sophie warmly, just as they had the day before, friendly and sincere, without any embarrassment from possibly hearing something last night, as if those ambiguous sounds for an hour or two hadn’t come from their tent at all.

Sophie was initially a bit uncomfortable when she saw them, her eyes dodging, and her cheeks slightly red.

But seeing how natural and casual Johnson and Maria were, she gradually relaxed and joined in to help.

After breakfast, the four of them took a stroll nearby.

Along the way, Johnson and Maria walked hand in hand the entire time, intimately showing off their affection, as if no one else was around.

On Sophie’s side, she naturally took Li Jing’s hand.

This action genuinely surprised Li Jing a bit. He turned his head slightly to look at Sophie, only to see her face full of joy, relaxed and smooth in her movements, with no hint of awkwardness at all.

Li Jing watched Sophie’s joyful silhouette, the corners of his mouth rose as he tightened his grip on her hand, moving forward in sync with her.

After breakfast and a little activity, Johnson and the others decided to head to the mountains as planned, inviting Li Jing and Sophie to join them specially.

Johnson excitedly explained that they had chosen a mountain, and from the top, they could take in the magnificent sunset over the sea, stunning and mesmerizing.

Li Jing and Sophie readily agreed to this proposal.

But first, they decided to visit Peter and his wife in the hospital to check on their recovery.

Johnson and the others drove a van, while Li Jing rode his motorcycle as usual, with Sophie sitting on the back seat.

The wind howled past their ears, and Sophie held tightly onto Li Jing’s waist, savoring the speed and excitement.

Upon reaching the hospital, they headed straight to the ward.

Peter and his wife were overjoyed to see Li Jing, thanking him profusely, to the point where Li Jing felt a bit embarrassed.

From the nurses and doctors, they learned that when Peter and his wife were brought in yesterday, their condition was critical. Fortunately, Li Jing’s emergency measures were professional and timely.

Doctors unanimously agreed that if not for Li Jing’s quick, decisive actions in saving them, Peter might not have survived.

Upon learning this, not only were Peter and his wife deeply grateful to Li Jing, but Maria also looked at Li Jing with gratitude.
