CHAPTER 333: USING IT
Harry smiled faintly at Leon’s words.
Despite the oddity of the scene—a luxurious lounge suspended in an infinite white void—Leon’s joy was real. And it warmed something in Harry’s chest.
Some months back, Harry had learned something peculiar: he could bring objects into this space.
At first, he’d thought it limited to basic things—clothes, books, maybe a weapon or two—but experimentation proved otherwise.
The range of what he could import was extensive: artifacts, beast cores, enchanted items, even personal mementos.
The only restriction were living things, which couldn’t be brought into the space—he was the only living thing who could enter freely.
Anything else—non-living, inanimate, or dead—was fair game.
It was a discovery that had changed everything.
He’d spent quite a fortune refining and refurbishing this place. Not just for function, but for comfort.
The sofa, the chairs, the TV, even the refrigerator stocked with snacks and cold drinks—it was all for Leon.
A gift, so this white place could become more of a home for him.
Looking at Leon now, face relaxed, arms folded behind his head, a contented smile tugging at his lips... Harry felt it had all been worth it.
He couldn’t even begin to imagine living the life Leon had endured up until now.
Drifting across the planet, intangible and unseen, for centuries.
Being alone, with no voice or even rest. Just silence, memories, and the weight of his own existence.
"That’s nice," Harry finally said, voice low and thoughtful.
But as the words left his lips, his expression hardened. His eyes narrowed.
He shifted forward in his chair, resting his elbows on his knees.
"Adolf..." he said quietly.
At that, Leon’s gaze flickered, and he gave a subtle nod.
Still lounging, he extended one arm lazily toward the smooth, glass-like floor.
"This right here..." he muttered.
A ripple passed through the floor like a stone dropped into still water.
The shimmering surface distorted for a moment before bulging upward, something dark and twisted emerging from beneath.
A body.
Charred, broken, and horrifying.
Adolf Rashin’s remains.
Harry’s breath caught as the corpse slowly surfaced, lying lifelessly in front of them.
Broken, burnt horns curled from the scalp, and clawed hands lay still by the sides.
Whatever had once been human about this figure was now long buried beneath layers of dark transformation.
Harry stared at the body—then, instinctively, at his own hand.
’Could I do that too?’ He thought, remembering how Leon easily brought Adolf’s body from the ground.
Even now, he couldn’t help but be amazed at Leon’s control, which was leagues above his.
Leon, catching the glance, chuckled softly.
"You can freely control the energy within this space," he said. "It’s tied to your will. You can hide whatever you want here—store things, preserve them. You know, things here aren’t affected by the flow of time."
He paused, then added with a smirk, "And I can do it too. Because I am ’the energy’."
Harry simply nodded, absorbing the information. His eyes remained on the corpse, his mind spinning.
There was so much he still didn’t understand.
Leon’s face gradually lost its humor. The smirk faded, replaced by something grim and quiet.
"I studied the body," he said at last. "For days."
Harry glanced up.
"And?"
Leon exhaled. "Nothing. I didn’t learn much. But... they fused demon properties into a human host."
"They did it thoroughly... the transformation was almost perfect, but it wasn’t. It came with a drawback, which explained why Adolf’s health was being drained away during your fight."
"But still... to fuse demons and humans like this, it’s just... crazy."
"Fusing demons and humans..." Harry muttered under his breath. "Upgrading talents..."
Leon’s jaw tensed. His voice dropped.
"The dark guild in this timeline... it’s a lot different." He looked at Harry, his eyes unusually somber. "Very different from the one I know."
Silence settled between them for a few seconds. Then Leon looked away, his voice quieter still.
"I’m sorry. There’s no way for me to help with this."
Harry didn’t flinch. He simply nodded.
"It’s okay," he said. "You’ve helped so much already."
"Besides, this is my fight, so I’ll make sure to win." he continued, a sharp glint flashing across his eyes.
His thoughts drifted—to Dani Okvar, the B-rank adventurer whose mind he had infiltrated. The man whose memories were now linked to his own.
’Should I use it now?’ He wondered, his brows furrowing.
Leon leaned back again, crossing one leg over the other as he casually waved toward the body.
"You can decide to use the memory link now," he said, voice calm but deliberate. "You should be able to see everything Dani has experienced during the past three days."
Harry’s brow twitched.
’Am I still that easy to read?’ he thought, a flicker of annoyance passing through him. ’Damn it... I really need to work more on my poker face.’
Leon didn’t comment further, but his soft chuckle was answer enough.
Harry gave a faint sigh and shook his head.
The moment passed, and Leon’s smile faded. His expression grew more focused, serious.
"But you’ll need to be careful," he said, eyes locking with Harry’s.
Harry listened in silence.
"It’s better to use them from here," Leon added, gesturing around at the boundless white space. "Instead of the real world."
"I know," Harry said. "That was my plan."
Leon nodded approvingly. "Good. Very good."
A pause.
Then he leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees.
"Memory Manipulation... it’s a skill I learned from demons," he said, his voice lower now, tinged with caution. "If you’re not careful, they can track it. They can trace the manipulation back to its source. To you."
Harry’s jaw tightened.
Leon lifted a finger and pointed downward, toward the pure white floor beneath their feet.
"But here... while you’re in this space, your space—no one can trace it. You’re safe here, Harry. Completely undetectable."
Harry didn’t say anything at first. He just nodded.
Then, slowly, he exhaled and closed his eyes.
The world around him grew quiet.
