Married To My Ex's Brother, Reborn Miraculously
Chapter 335: The confrontation between Augustine and Gabriel
CHAPTER 335: THE CONFRONTATION BETWEEN AUGUSTINE AND GABRIEL
Gabriel stormed into the Beaumont Group headquarters, shoving aside the guards who tried to block his way.
"Don’t you dare stop me," he barked furiously, his voice echoing through the lobby. "I’ll sue every one of you. This is my company. Who gave you the guts to forbid me from entering?"
The guards faltered.
For years, they had bowed their heads to Gabriel, treating him as the rightful boss. But with Augustine now in charge, their orders had changed. Even so, they couldn’t bring themselves to drag Gabriel out like a trespasser.
Throwing them a venomous glare, Gabriel pushed through the glass doors and strode inside. The guards hurried after him, trying to reason with him.
"Sir, please," one of them pleaded, "don’t make this harder for us. We are only carrying out orders."
Gabriel ignored their words and marched toward the private elevator. This time, the guards moved fast, blocking his path.
"You are not authorized to use the elevator," one said firmly. "Please leave."
Gabriel’s eyes blazed as he stared at the line of strong men standing like an impenetrable wall in front of him. Their stance made it clear. If he took one more step, they’d physically throw him out.
His rage only burned hotter.
"I’m not leaving until I see Augustine," he snapped, lowering himself onto the reception sofa with defiance.
The guards exchanged uneasy looks, unsure how to handle the situation.
At the desk, the receptionist picked up the phone and quietly called the chairman’s office, reporting what had happened.
Augustine, expecting this very confrontation, listened calmly. "Send him up."
After hanging up, he leaned back in his chair, his expression cold yet edged with satisfaction. He had been waiting for this face-off.
"Come, Gabriel," he muttered under his breath, a sly smile tugging at his lips. "I’ve been waiting for this moment... I want to watch your defeated face."
Moments later, Gabriel burst through the door. "You son of a bitch. How dare you step into my office?" His voice boomed with curses.
His rage spiked when his eyes fell on Augustine, calmly seated in his chair. "You filthy bastard. That seat is not yours. Get the hell out."
With furious strides, Gabriel closed the gap, seizing Augustine by the collar and yanking him up. Augustine shoved him back with such force that Gabriel staggered.
"You—" Gabriel’s eyes blazed red as he lunged again, fist raised to strike.
But Augustine caught his punch midair, twisting his wrist before shoving him back hard. Gabriel stumbled and crashed onto the floor, glaring up at him with fury boiling in his veins.
"This is my office now," Augustine declared coldly. "There is no room for you here."
"Bullshit," Gabriel roared. "Who gave you the right to take what’s mine?"
Augustine picked up a file and hurled it at him. "See for yourself. I’ve taken control of the company lawfully. With fifty-five percent of the shares in my hands, I’m the largest shareholder. The chairman’s seat belongs to me by default."
Gabriel snatched the papers, scanning them with disbelief. His eyes widened.
Augustine wasn’t bluffing. He had already secured majority control, and the board had acknowledged him as the new chairman. The signatures of all the directors confirmed it.
"No... impossible," Gabriel muttered, shaking his head. "This can’t be real. You must have coerced them—"
"I didn’t need to," Augustine cut in, his tone sharp. "They were already fed up with you. Because of your scandals, the company’s shares collapsed to record lows. Clients threatened to walk away from major deals. And after the lies you spread about Denis, the backlash only grew worse. If I hadn’t stepped in, the Beaumont Group would have suffered irreparable losses."
But Gabriel wasn’t swayed. His rage only burned hotter. "This is my responsibility to handle." He shot up to his feet, flinging the file aside. "Who the hell asked you to interfere and steal my position? I’ll drag you to court for illegally seizing my company."
Augustine let out a derisive snort. "Illegally? I just handed you the legal documents, and you still dare call it illegal! Fine then—sue me if you have the guts."
His tall figure loomed over him, his commanding presence filling the room. "But let me warn you—before you can even make a move against me, you’ll already be behind bars."
Gabriel’s expression faltered, his confidence cracking as he locked eyes with Augustine’s unflinching stare. A cold shiver crept down his spine.
’Did he uncover something about me?’ The thought unsettled him.
But almost immediately, he dismissed it.
Impossible.
He had covered his tracks well, bribed the doctor, and altered the autopsy report. There was no way Augustine could know the truth.
"You think you are untouchable," Gabriel snapped. "Denis will tear you apart...Just wait."
"So sure of yourself?" Augustine sneered. "Now you suddenly remember Denis? Did you forget how you destroyed his credibility with your lies? Do you really believe the board would ever trust him again as CEO after that?"
"You..." Gabriel choked in fury.
"I have evidence against you," Augustine cut him off coldly. He could have easily thrown Gabriel into prison with what he had, but he wouldn’t—not yet. He would make him live in a constant fear of losing everything before he sent him to jail.
"You schemed against Denis just to push him out of the company," Augustine said, his voice like steel. "Imagine what he’ll do when he learns the truth."
Gabriel’s heart sank. He had already alienated Denis—his affair with Tania had poisoned their bond beyond repair. And now, this revelation would only push Denis even further away.
"You destroyed that relationship yourself," Augustine pressed on. "You threw his mother out, and now she is dead. Do you really think Denis will ever forgive you?"
Gabriel’s face drained of color as Augustine’s words echoed. He remembered Denis’s warning—if anything happened to Jeanne, he wouldn’t spare him. Even though Gabriel had managed to falsify the autopsy report, Denis would still hold him responsible for his mother’s death. Yet, his pride wouldn’t let him admit defeat.
"He is my son," Gabriel snarled. "No matter what, he’ll stand with me. He won’t let an outsider steal what’s ours. Just wait—he’ll come for you."
"Your son?" Augustine scoffed, his tone cutting. "Stop fooling yourself. No father would ever do to his child what you did to him. You spread lies, ruined his name, and destroyed his career. You never cared whether he was humiliated or dragged into legal messes. And do you know why? Because he isn’t your son."
The words hit Gabriel like a thunderclap. His legs buckled beneath him, and he sank to the floor again, trembling. A sharp ringing filled his ears as his mind screamed, ’He knows.’
Shock washed over his face.
Augustine’s lips curved into a sneer. This was the exact reaction he had been waiting for—Gabriel’s arrogance shattered, leaving him shaken and afraid. A dark satisfaction swelled inside him, though he knew this was only the beginning.
"Shocked?" Augustine scoffed, stepping closer and towering over him. "You guarded this secret your whole life just to keep Denis bound to you. But the moment you impregnated Tania, you suddenly remembered that Denis isn’t your blood. Your love for him vanished in an instant, and you thought of casting him aside. You even began to despise him. Why? Because you believe Tania is giving you your own child."
Crouching down so their eyes met, Augustine let his words come out of his mouth fiercely. "But are you sure that the baby is yours?"
A cold shiver ran through Gabriel. The thought had never crossed his mind before. What if Tania was lying about the baby? He quickly pushed the suspicion away, whispering to himself, ’No, this is his trick. He is just trying to mess with me.’
"Imagine if she is lying again," Augustine pressed, his tone deliberately taunting. "She has deceived the Beaumont family once before—don’t forget that. Back then, she claimed she was carrying Denis’s child, and it was all a fabrication. She can do the same thing again."
He gave a sly smirk, his gaze sharp with challenge. "Even if she really is pregnant this time, what makes you so sure the child is yours?"
Gabriel’s body stiffened, rage flashing in his eyes. "Nice attempt," he snarled. "But I won’t be tricked. Tania is carrying my child—the true heir of the Beaumonts. Neither you nor Denis will see a single penny from this family. I’ll make damn sure of it."
Augustine’s jaw tightened, his patience wearing thin. Gabriel was clearly losing ground, yet still refused to admit defeat. The arrogance was maddening.
Straightening to his full height, Augustine’s voice thundered with fury. "Then you leave me no choice but to be ruthless. For years, you’ve tormented my family—you tore Denis away from his real parents at birth, poisoned his heart against us, and set him against me. But even that wasn’t enough for you."
His nostrils flared as anger consumed him. "My father never wanted to take anything from you. He was content with what Grandfather gave him. All he wanted was a quiet life with his wife and child. But you—driven by jealousy and hatred—you couldn’t stand it. So you destroyed everything. You murdered my parents."
The last accusation reverberated through the office like a thunderclap.
