Marvel: A Portal to the World of Swallowed Star
Chapter 75 75: Envoy Yang’s Shock
Rowan had no idea how much time had passed, but eventually, his body began to tremble faintly. He stopped his training in the guiding technique.
Though his body had reached the current threshold for practicing the Ninefold Primal Convergence, he didn't feel exhausted on the contrary, he felt incredibly relaxed.
To Rowan, this guiding technique felt a lot like a warm-up routine before a strenuous workout.
But unlike regular warm-ups that targeted muscles, this one seemed to prime the body at the cellular level.
Sure enough, as soon as he lay down in the Five-Point Celestial posture and resumed cultivating his genetic energy, the difference was immediate.
Every cell in his body felt like it was starving, ravenously absorbing the genetic energy the moment it appeared. His training speed noticeably increased.
One minute… two minutes… as time went on, Rowan grew increasingly astonished. Finally, every cell in his body reached saturation, as if they were all overfed and could take in no more.
"I absorbed almost twice as much genetic energy today as I usually do!"
Rowan was amazed. He hadn't expected such dramatic results from his very first session of Ninefold Primal Convergence.
According to the manual, the deeper his mastery of Ninefold Thunderblade, the more efficiently he would be able to absorb genetic energy.
No wonder Zhuge Tao had stressed the importance of guiding techniques when he first became a warrior. With or without a guiding method, a warrior's growth rate could differ by several magnitudes.
Just as Rowan was feeling relieved that he had chosen Ninefold Thunderblade instead of another technique out of impulse, a sudden rumble shook the sky outside the villa.
A powerful blast of wind surged into the training room through the window.
Rowan's eyes snapped open. He rose and stepped out onto the second-floor terrace.
Looking up, he immediately saw a large section of the sky darkened by the sleek, streamlined body of a hovering vessel an obsidian-blue spacecraft shaped like a flying saucer descending silently through the air.
"What the...?" Zhou Ping had just come running out of the villa and stared up at the warship in stunned silence.
"Don't worry. They're here for us."
Rowan reassured him.
Sure enough, the hatch of the aircraft opened, revealing several figures.
Rather than land, the passengers leapt directly from the ship.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
Three figures landed steadily in the villa courtyard.
"Rowan," Zhuge Tao greeted him with a smile.
"Director Zhuge. Director Sun."
Rowan nodded to Zhuge Tao and Sun Hong, then turned his attention to the third man between them.
The newcomer wore an elegant black suit. His hair was mostly black, streaked with a few strands of gray, and he carried himself with calm authority.
Zhuge Tao gestured toward him.
"This is Yang Hui, a special envoy from Headquarters. Show your respect."
"A pleasure to meet you, Envoy Yang."
Rowan bowed slightly. Anyone dispatched from the core of the Limitless Martial Hall was at least Wargod level.
"Hello, Rowan."
Yang Hui returned a gentle smile. Rowan stood tall, looked striking, and had a certain confidence in his bearing it left a good impression.
"Come. Let's head to the Limitless Pavilion for your induction exam."
Yang Hui didn't waste time and got straight to the point.
But Rowan shook his head.
"Envoy Yang, before that, there's something I'd like to discuss with you privately. Would that be possible?"
"Oh?"
Yang Hui looked to Zhuge Tao and Sun Hong, both of whom appeared equally surprised and slightly concerned.
"All right," Yang Hui agreed after a pause.
"Please, this way."
Rowan led him toward the villa, and called out to Zhou Ping as well.
"Brother Zhou, come with us."
Yang Hui's brows lifted slightly. It seemed strange that Rowan would involve this man too but he didn't say anything.
Soon, all three entered the ground-floor training room.
"Rowan, what is it you want to tell me?"
Yang Hui's tone was cordial and unhurried, despite his high rank. He treated Rowan with the respect due a promising talent.
"Well, Envoy Yang, I have a friend who developed a special enhancement serum with extraordinary effects. He's entrusted me to present this formula to the Limitless Martial Hall for potential acquisition. I haven't reported it to the Jiangnan Base yet because of its rarity and value."
"A special enhancement serum?" Yang Hui raised an eyebrow.
"Yes. It's called the 'Extremis Serum.' It can enhance a warrior's physique modestly... but more importantly, it allows for limb regeneration and grants remarkable regenerative abilities "
"That's impossible!"
Before Rowan could finish, Yang Hui's eyes widened in disbelief.
"You're saying this serum can regrow severed limbs?"
"It can," Rowan replied calmly.
"Prove it."
Yang Hui's expression turned serious. The implications were too enormous to take lightly.
Until now, the only known substance capable of regenerating limbs was Water of Life, and even that was extremely rare. Some plant spirits had similar properties, but they were so scarce that no one in their right mind would waste one on healing a lost limb.
If Rowan was telling the truth… this serum could challenge one of the greatest monopolies on Earth.
"Envoy Yang, the regenerative ability is just one manifestation of the serum's power. Let me show you."
Rowan turned to Zhou Ping.
Zhou Ping gave a firm nod he was ready.
Yang Hui now realized why Rowan had asked this man to join them. So he had already taken the serum?
Even now, Yang Hui struggled to believe it. A regenerative serum that allowed for limb regrowth sounded like something out of a myth.
Then
Whoosh!
A dagger leapt from the holster on Rowan's belt.
With a flick of his will, the blade zipped across the room and sliced clean through Zhou Ping's arm.
Squelch.
The arm hit the ground with a dull thud.
Strangely, there was no blood. Instead, a wave of heat rose from the stump, and the wound glowed with a magma-like sheen.
Sizzling sounds echoed through the room.
The molten glow surged outward, and within seven or eight seconds, a brand-new arm had reformed where the old one had been severed.
The glow faded, and Zhou Ping's arm was completely intact save for his now-missing shirt sleeve.
Yang Hui stared, dumbfounded. He glanced between Zhou Ping's fully healed arm and the severed limb still lying on the floor.
He was speechless.
It was true.
The limb had regrown.
And this wasn't some one-time miracle like Water of Life. This was a permanent regenerative ability.
What did that mean?
Even a Wargod couldn't do that.
And even those rare few high-level beings with regenerative powers didn't recover this fast.
Seven or eight seconds for a lost arm? That meant non-lethal wounds might heal in two to three seconds!
Still not convinced, Yang Hui stepped forward and picked up a blade from the training room's weapons rack.
He slashed across Zhou Ping's chest.
Ssshhhk!
The same molten hue reappeared. The wound sealed up in mere moments.
"My god... it's real."
Yang Hui's disbelief melted into joy.
This didn't just challenge the monopoly of Water of Life this would shake the foundations of the entire world.
To grant ordinary warriors the regenerative capabilities of top-tier council members?
The implications were unimaginable.
