Marvel: Infinite Personalities
Chapter 149: She Is a Demon
"Did you find Kamar-Taj yet?" Raymond asked in his mind.
"Ahem… I just got here, how could I find it that fast?" John Constantine's sub-personality coughed awkwardly.
"I bet you haven't even looked."
"How could that be? Am I that kind of guy? Don't worry, I promise I'll find that Kamar-Taj place before today's over!" he said with firm confidence.
"You better. Otherwise, getting out again won't be this easy next time..."
"Got it," John replied with a more serious tone.
"Alright, I'm heading out. I'll check in later," Raymond said as he pulled back his consciousness.
John finally felt the pressure and let go of the Asian girl, turning to quietly chat with the rickshaw driver using the local language.
Raymond, now back in control, opened his eyes.
He realized that, at some point, another girl had joined their round table and was chatting casually with Clarice and Lorna.
She had long wine-red hair and looked about the same age as the two girls.
That probably explained why she had come over to talk to them.
Seeing Raymond awake, Clarice quickly introduced her.
"This is Mia, a new friend Lorna and I just met… and this is my brother, Raymond," she added to Mia.
"Hello," Mia nodded politely to Raymond, though her expression carried a subtle hint of caution.
"Hello."
Raymond nodded back. He noticed her accent didn't sound North American and asked thoughtfully, "British?"
Clarice answered for her, "Yeah, Mia's from London. She was even on the same flight as us!"
Since there were no direct flights to Edinburgh, they had to transfer through London.
Judging by what Clarice said, Mia was probably heading to London too.
"Those two behind you… are they family?" Raymond glanced over Mia's left shoulder and asked.
"Huh?"
Clarice and Lorna looked over and finally noticed two men in black suits sitting at a nearby table, glancing their way.
When they noticed the girls looking, the men quickly turned their heads as if nothing had happened.
Mia didn't even look back. She just shrugged with a helpless tone, "They're bodyguards my family sent. They insist on pretending they don't know me..."
"You spotted them already?" Raymond chuckled.
He had assumed the men were up to no good—maybe planning something against Mia. Their sneaky behavior didn't look innocent.
Raymond wasn't one to get involved in every little thing, but since Clarice considered Mia a friend, he wouldn't mind stepping in if trouble came.
Turns out, he was overthinking it.
"Wow, Mia, your family actually sent people to protect you? You must be super rich," Clarice said in surprise.
Lorna didn't say anything, but her face showed envy.
For someone like her, who had spent her life hiding and often going hungry, even Clarice's lifestyle already seemed out of reach.
As for someone like Mia—who had bodyguards secretly watching over her—she couldn't even imagine it.
"It's nothing really…"
Mia didn't answer directly and quickly changed the subject. "Anyway, what are you guys doing in Edinburgh? Sightseeing?"
Clarice didn't know how to respond and looked over at Raymond.
Raymond smiled and said, "I'm attending a meeting there, and I'm bringing them along for the trip. So yeah, you could say it's for sightseeing."
"Well, you should stop by London too! I could show you around," Mia offered with a bright smile.
"Really? Are you sure that's not too much trouble?" Clarice asked, surprised and a little excited.
"It's just hanging out. What's the trouble?" Mia said casually.
Clarice quickly turned to Raymond, eyes full of hope. "Can we go?"
"Sure," Raymond said without much thought. "If you want to, we can spend a couple of days there on the way back. We haven't booked the return flight yet anyway, so we can decide later."
"Awesome! Thanks, big bro!" Clarice cheered happily.
With Raymond's approval, the three girls quickly fell into an excited chatter, talking about all the places they wanted to visit in London.
Raymond, however, had no interest in the conversation. He'd been to London in his past life and didn't find it all that exciting.
"Boss Raymond, did you feel it?"
Just then, the Exorcist sub-personality suddenly spoke up in Raymond's mind.
It was the first time he'd spoken up without a trigger, which caught Raymond off guard.
"Feel what?"
"That girl… she's a demon."
The Exorcist's tone was mysterious and serious.
"Which girl? Mia?" Raymond blinked.
"Exactly! Her!" the Exorcist confirmed with full certainty.
His words made Raymond even more surprised.
He wasn't a newbie anymore—he'd developed decent skill at sensing supernatural energy.
But he hadn't sensed anything strange from Mia. At most, he thought she came from a well-off family.
Now the Exorcist was claiming she was a demon?
"Are you sure? She just looks like a normal girl to me…"
Even the Tao Pai Pai sub-personality chimed in, skeptical.
"No way I'm wrong. I've dealt with demons all my life—I'd never mistake one!" the Exorcist insisted.
"And those two sitting over there? Same thing. They're demons too—"
"They are?"
Raymond's eyes narrowed.
He knew the Exorcist was referring to the two men in black who were watching Mia earlier. But like Mia, they didn't give off any signs of being supernaturally gifted.
Still, the Exorcist had no reason to lie or randomly accuse people.
If he said they were demons… something must really be wrong.
"Could they really be hiding something?"
Raymond's eyes turned sharp. This wasn't simple.
But what did the Exorcist actually mean by demon?
Raymond had met many superpowered beings before, but the Exorcist had never called anyone that—this was the first time he used such a word.
