Marvel: Rise of the Ultimate AI
Chapter 150: Dark Sorcerer
CHAPTER 150: DARK SORCERER
Venom let out a feral roar as he charged toward Wanda, claws glinting with a deadly sheen under the factory lights. His grotesque form moved like a predator, fast and violent, carrying a foul stench in his wake.
Jessica, who had just fought him moments earlier, knew all too well how dangerous the creature was. That brute strength surpassed even Luke Cage—the toughest man she’d ever met. And those bizarre, unpredictable abilities? Pure nightmare fuel.
But to Jessica’s surprise, the young red-haired woman didn’t even flinch. Instead, she turned slightly, and a surge of glowing scarlet light pulsed from her outstretched hand.
A chaotic energy wave exploded outwards and struck Venom mid-air. As it made contact, the crimson glow erupted like a detonated warhead—blasting Venom clear through the factory gates and slamming him into the ground like a lump of rotting meat.
Venom scrambled up with a snarl and immediately lashed out. His massive tendrils tore the factory gate off its hinges and hurled it at Wanda like a spinning, razor-edged boomerang.
The metal screeched through the air, spinning toward Wanda’s head.
Wanda merely raised a hand.
Her pale fingers opened slightly, and chaos magic wrapped around the airborne door like invisible chains. Then, in the blink of an eye, the same door reversed course and shot back toward Venom with even greater force.
BANG!
The door smashed into Venom’s face, and under Wanda’s manipulation, the metal began to twist and transform—reshaping into a makeshift prison. It morphed into something resembling a reinforced holding cell, locking the symbiote inside like a caged animal.
Venom writhed furiously, tendrils flailing, but he couldn’t break free.
Jessica stood frozen, utterly stunned. This innocent-looking young woman had just caged one of the most terrifying monsters she’d ever encountered—without breaking a sweat.
This... this is what real superpowers look like!
Compared to Wanda, Jessica suddenly felt like a glorified gym rat with a bad attitude.
"ROAR!"
Venom shrieked again. One of his tendrils squeezed through a crack in the makeshift prison and morphed into a wicked black axe. With a powerful strike, it cleaved through the door and freed him.
His tongue lashed wildly, and with a vicious howl, he launched himself at Wanda again like a savage beast seeking revenge.
Wanda remained calm. Her chaos magic surged once more, crimson light coiling around Venom like a net of living energy. He was instantly immobilized in midair, thrashing helplessly.
Then she made a small flicking motion with her wrist.
Gravity multiplied. Venom was yanked downward and smashed into the floor, sending tremors through the building. But just as quickly, he floated back up into the air again—only to be slammed down once more.
Then, to his utter horror, he watched his own fist—possessed by Wanda’s magic—curl back and punch him across the face.
THWACK!
Venom’s grotesque tongue flopped out as his head lolled, stunned.
SMACK! He hit the ground again.
SMACK! Floated.
SMACK! Punched himself in the jaw again.
After several humiliating cycles, Venom stopped struggling.
He lay motionless in the air, tongue dangling, like a scolded mutt afraid to bark. Wanda had tamed the monster. For now.
With the threat neutralized, Wanda finally relaxed and lowered her arm. Jessica stood nearby, still trying to process everything she’d just seen.
Who would’ve guessed that this delicate-looking girl—who could pass for a high school student—could reduce such a terrifying creature into a floating punching bag?
Forget powers. That’s a damn goddess.
"It’s done," Wanda said softly as she walked toward the subdued Venom.
But after just a few steps, she paused.
Her brow furrowed.
"Black magic. Such... powerful black magic," Wanda murmured under her breath.
"Uh... black magic? What do you mean, black magic?" Jessica asked, confused. She didn’t know exactly what black magic was, but she understood the word powerful, and from the look on Wanda’s face, something very bad was coming.
Her instincts were right.
Space shimmered.
Reality twisted.
A wave of nausea hit both women like a punch to the gut as their surroundings distorted. Their eyes deceived them, their minds reeled.
And then he appeared.
A man in a tattered yellow robe.
Purple veins coiled around his eyes like dark roots stretching into his temples, making his whole presence feel... wrong. Malevolent.
A dark sorcerer. And not just any. A strong one.
Wanda instantly summoned her chaos magic again, forming a scarlet shell around herself and Jessica like a protective dome. The magic glowed like a crimson eggshell, designed to block whatever cursed force this new enemy might unleash.
But the sorcerer didn’t even look their way.
Instead, he turned to Venom, still lying on the ground like an obedient dog. He began muttering an incantation in a guttural, ancient tongue, his hands performing complex, arcane gestures.
A pitch-black hexagram formed in the air before him.
Wanda watched with alarm.
Gene hadn’t taught her anything like this. Whatever this was, it was far beyond the kind of dark arts she’d studied. The sheer intensity of the black magic radiating from the sorcerer’s ritual was suffocating.
Then, the incantation ended.
Like the grand finale of a concert or the final whistle of a game, the dark ritual reached its climax.
Tendrils of black energy surged from the hexagram like intelligent serpents, slithering into Venom’s body.
"RAAAWR!"
Venom howled—not with fear, but with something else—pain? Ecstasy? Madness?
His body began to swell. Rapidly.
Jessica’s eyes widened in horror as Venom morphed into a towering behemoth, dwarfing the factory walls. The once-formidable monster now resembled a kaiju—its bulk massive, its presence overwhelming.
And she and Wanda?
They were just two tiny, helpless specks beneath his feet.
"Uh... little sorceress," Jessica muttered, eyes still locked on the growing monster.
"You did learn how to fight that, right?"
