Marvel: What If Thanos Adopted A Saiyan?
Chapter 394 395: The Pharaoh of Ancient Egypt, Strange's Purpose
"Your Highness Lothar, please hurry."
"According to the data analysis, the Demon Dragon Nidhogg's power is still rising." Woz's analysis cut off The Other, who was still stammering, and reminded Lothar that this was no time to waste. He had more important things to do.
"The Demon Dragon Nidhogg was suppressed under the World Tree's roots since ancient times, so its power was constantly being drained from chewing on the roots. But now, for some unknown reason, it has broken free, and its power is recovering without a suppressing force. Once its power returns to its peak, Your Highness Lothar, Lady Hela could die." Woz glanced at Hela with concern as she was healing with the nutrient solution.
"ROOOAR!!!"
The demon dragon shrieked, no longer hiding its power. A black beam of destructive energy shot out from its mouth, aimed directly at Woz for exposing its true nature!
BOOM!!!
A silver energy column appeared out of thin air, intercepting the dragon's destructive beam.
"Die!"
Lothar flashed to the right side of the dragon's head and threw a punch! The terrifying force shattered its protective barrier and twisted its jaw.
"ROAR!"
The dragon roared in pain, and its rock-hard tail lashed out, hitting Lothar's shoulder and sending him to the ground!
"Your Highness Lothar!"
"Get back!"
A frustrated Lothar told the eager Pietro to back off. His speed was no longer a match for Lothar's, so what good would he be? He was better off just being a chauffeur and keeping Hela safe.
"You're strong, outsider."
"But you can't stop me."
"I will destroy the World Tree and annihilate the Nine Realms. It is my destiny."
The punch mark on the dragon's long face was slowly disappearing. Its ink-black eyes were completely calm.
"My father is the one with destiny," Lothar said, panting, as he raised his right hand. A brilliant golden glow began to envelop the entire sky.
Armor pieces—shoulder pads, leg guards, a loincloth, and a cape, all of them armor created by Thanos specifically for Lothar to amplify his power, automatically covered Lothar's body. On the back of his right hand, two embedded Infinity Stones glittered.
"Infinity Stones?"
The demon dragon was a little confused. Having existed since the dawn of the Nine Realms, it naturally recognized the Infinity Stones. But in its memory, the six stones were supposed to be under the care of the Celestials. How did this outsider have two of them? Did he kill a god?
Nidhogg's mind raced, but its actions were not slow.
Lothar wasn't going to give it much time to think. His cape flapped as the Power Stone embedded in his gauntlet flashed with light!
An unparalleled surge of energy struck the demon dragon, causing its massive body to stumble. But that was it. It only stumbled. After eons of fighting with the World Tree, its physical body had been honed to an incredible degree.
"Not bad, but that's all your power is," it said. Lothar had only mastered two Infinity Stones. That wasn't enough to make the dragon fear him.
"How is this possible..."
"Why does it feel like it's barely taking any damage?" Pietro, who had been kicked away by Lothar and obediently returned to being a chauffeur, looked at the black dragon with a terrified gaze.
He knew how strong Lothar was. And having spent time in the Black Quadrant, he had picked up some knowledge of the Infinity Stones. But now, even with Lothar using an Infinity Stone, he still couldn't take down that dragon?
This was the gear that had killed Odin! Back at the HYDRA base, the commander had made sure to show him and Wanda the footage of Lothar killing Odin repeatedly.
"In terms of power, a fully-powered Demon Dragon Nidhogg is indeed stronger than Odin in his normal state," Woz said, his expression grim as he analyzed the data. It was a good thing he had upgraded himself after returning from the other universe, or he wouldn't have been able to analyze Nidhogg's data and compare it to Odin's.
The terrifying part about the Asgardians was their ability to perfectly integrate with the World Tree's power, a prime example being Odin when he started the Nine Realms War.
Furthermore, when Odin was on Earth, the reason he was so helpless against a fully-armored Lothar was not only because Lothar's power was too great and he had no information about it, but also because he had forced himself to awaken from the Odin Sleep and his body hadn't returned to its peak condition.
"The Power Stone is having an effect on it, but the Reality Stone's power has no effect at all," a recovering Hela said with a frown, watching the dragon in the fight break free from the Reality-bending effects. She knew very little about this creature, and she hated the feeling of being powerless.
"Only magic can fight magic."
"Hela Odinsdottir."
A colorful portal appeared in front of Hela and the others. The Other immediately raised the Mind Stone scepter in his hand and pointed it at the two people who stepped out of the portal: Sorcerer Supreme Stephen Strange, and an old man with a face full of wrinkles and white hair.
"Stephen Strange?" Hela frowned and took Lothar's place. With a wave of her hand, she told The Other to reluctantly stand down.
"Savior!" The old man behind Strange boomed. The familiar ancient Egyptian greeting made Hela recall the man they had met in ancient Egypt so long ago.
"Allow me to introduce you. This is the first Pharaoh of the ancient Egyptian dynasty, Menes," Strange said with a shrug, revealing the identity of the old man who was bowing to Hela.
"You're not dead?" Hela was still on guard. People from Earth didn't have the long lifespan of the Asgardians.
"Indeed, my Savior," Menes said with a chuckle, holding out his hands. The Outer God artifact he had once acquired, the Horus's Eye, once again appeared before Hela.
That bastard's not dead?! The Other's eyes grew dangerous. This was the man who had stolen his moment, the one who threatened his job! Danger! Extreme danger!
"The Demon Dragon Nidhogg has existed since ancient times, and its power is extraordinary. Not even Lothar can easily defeat it. Because Lothar doesn't understand magic." Strange looked at the giant dragon still fighting Lothar in the distance, a small smile on his lips.
His goal in sending Thor back to Asgard had finally been achieved. As a professional Sorcerer Supreme, he knew all about the dragon's earlier temptation of Thor. He had just pretended not to notice for the sake of his plan.
The meaningful glance he gave Thor before leaving Asgard was proof that he had indeed hesitated about this course of action. He had seen the script, though not much of it. Still, Nidhogg was, in a way, a high-tier combatant.
"My Savior, from here on, leave it to me and the Sorcerer Supreme." The ancient Egyptian Pharaoh activated the golden Horus's Eye in his hand, his voice sacred and pure.
