CHAPTER 98: INSANE PLAN

Robin Hood once again fired his arrow at the doppleshade, trying to finish it off. However, the doppleshade managed to dodge the attack and hid in one of the columns there.

[Argh, damn creature! It keeps dodging my attacks.] Robin Hood grumbled in annoyance. [Shaan, this is your chance. You need to get out of here as fast as you can.]

"No. It’s pointless." Shaan slowly stood up. "That creature will chase us again, and I’m very sure about it. The best thing we can do is to fight back and kill this damn creature as fast as we can."

Hearing Shaan’s words, Robin Hood fell silent for a moment. [Oh, wow. I like your enthusiasm. It makes me even more eager to kill that damn creature.]

"However, I still haven’t found a way to defeat this creature. "

[Shaan, try to calm down first. I’m sure you’ll find a way,] said Robin Hood. [I’ll do my best to handle Doppleshade.]

"I-I understand," Shaan nodded. "Robin Hood, use all your abilities to handle it while I think about the plan to kill this thing."

Robin Hood began his attack and tried his best to defeat the creature. Good, it seemed to allow Shaan to defeat Doppleshade easily.

"I’m sure there’s something around here I can use to finish off this thing. But what?"

Shaan looked around and suddenly his eyes fell on a large, sharp rock directly above his head—precisely at the center of the staircase’s spiral. Instantly, a rather crazy idea flashed through Shaan’s mind, one that would surely kill the creature this time.

"I have to try it. Maybe if I can use all my Aspira Ignis, it will work."

’Affect my insanity level?’ Shaan’s eyes widened. ’That means I could lose control of Robin Hood—and that’s extremely dangerous. Damn. I never expected the consequences to be this severe.’

Doubt flashed through Shaan’s mind as he read the warning notification that appeared on his screen. For some reason, activating all remaining Aspira Ignis power felt like a bad idea.

"Maybe I should consider not—"

Suddenly, a loud explosion erupted in front of him, shaking the entire room for a moment. Startled, Shaan instinctively turned his gaze forward.

[Heh, that’s all you’ve got, you damn thing] Robin Hood wiped the blood from his lips and quickly aimed his bow once more. [This time, I’ll make sure my attack kills you.]

Robin Hood shot several arrows at once, attempting to disable Doppleshade. However, the creature darted away swiftly and easily dodged all of Robin Hood’s attacks.

[Argh, I never expected this creature to be able to dodge all my attacks like that—]

"Robin Hood, watch out!"

Doppleshade appeared suddenly in front of Robin, startling him. He tried to avoid Doppleshade’s sudden attack, but it was too late. Doppleshade’s attack hit Robin, sending him flying hard.

[Argh, damn it!] Robin Hood tried to grab the bow nearby.

[I won’t lose. I’ll kill you with-]

A tense expression was visible on Shaan’s face as he watched his bow fly to the ground. To make matters worse, the creature stabbed Robin Hood in the stomach, causing fresh blood to flow endlessly.

[Arghhh!]

Robin Hood’s groans grew louder as the creature stabbed deeper into his stomach. Instantly, more blood flowed out of his body, dripping onto the ground, leaving Robin Hood helpless.

"No... this... this can’t be." Shaan’s face grew paler as he watched Robin Hood become increasingly helpless. "I must use it, I must help Robin Hood and defeat this wretched creature."

Without hesitation, Shaan ignored the warning he had read earlier and pressed the "activate" button that appeared on his screen. Instantly, the screen went black for a moment before another notification appeared.

[Activating all remaining Aspira Ignis power.]

[Power will activate in 3... 2... 1]

[Aspira Ignis power successfully activated.]

In just a few seconds, a surge of mana energy rushed through Shaan’s body. It was so intense that his mana energy completely enveloped the surface of his dual short swords, emitting a bright golden-yellow light. His power immediately increased several times its previous strength.

"It’s time to kill this thing!"

Shaan dashed toward the doppleshade like a flash of light. He was so fast that the doppleshade and Robin Hood couldn’t even see Shaan’s movements as he was already right in front of them.

[What th-the... but, since when?]

’Slash! Slash!’

Shaan’s slash successfully cut off both of Doppleshade’s hands. A burst of dark purple liquid immediately spurted out from both of its hands, causing the terrifying creature to scream in pain.

"This time I’ll make sure you die!"

Shaan kept unleashing his attacks repeatedly without giving the creature any respite. The multiple slashes left the creature completely helpless against Shaan, and it slowly began to be pushed toward the edge of the stairs.

"Good, now taste this."

With all his strength, Shaan delivered a powerful blow, causing the creature to fall from the top of the stairs. Its body landed on the ground, and it began to struggle to move.

’Good, this is my chance. I must kill this creature as quickly as possible before its wounds heal.’

"Robin Hood, do you still have the strength to shoot arrows?"

[Y-yes, of course,] Shaan said confidently. [I can still do it.]

Shaan pointed his finger upward. "Good, then use the explosive quiver and destroy the rock above us. Now!"

Robin Hood grabbed his bow and, with all his might, shot his arrow by Shaan’s instructions. Within seconds, a loud explosion knocked down a large rock, which hurtled downward and pierced the doppleshade’s head, killing it instantly.
