CHAPTER 2716: 2716. JUST THINK BIGGER

The shift in space mana as the rune carvers began to cut in to the stone prepared was enough for Walker to understand the gravity of what had actually changed. It wasn’t just the manas around that were influenced but the space itself was being pulled. This alone was also enough to show off to him the depth of what he had begun to delve in to.

The world had lesser densities of manas compared to what the elemental planes did in certain places. Meaning that they were also able to change a lot more about what runes and formations could be used. Not that multiple types of elemental runes would be used within a singular elemental plane. That was not normal since they would not have the ability to manipulate or understand other manas.

Regardless, Walker could tell that this stronger change in space would mean that when, not if, this formation succeeded, that there would be a constant pressure around it. Not just from the space mana gathering, but because it would also drag in other manas that were attached to the space mana in the surrounding.

To combat this, Walker began increasing the natural mana around which balanced and calmed the elemental manas being pushed out of balance. "When we are working on this you will need mages that can draw in or balance natural manas. If you do not then we will end up with denser mana unbalanced and they will become chaotic mana."

This was a lot of weight to drop on the project out of the blue. However, the assistant carvers or researching carvers made notes and also began to record the risks of not being able to encompass a proper spatial teleparation formation. They did not look at it as if they were seeing something entirely wrong and horrible, but something that they would need to research and adjust over time.

Simply put, the carvers would be able to develop natural mana rune formations that would balance the elemental manas and also be able to bring the natural mana in the area to a denser form. If that were the case a few of the researchers also realized that they would be able to create rune paths that took that mana and brought the natural mana to nearby gardens, greenhouses, and even gathered for training other images or testing other smaller rune formations.

Overall, there was an adjustable variation to the formations and the ways that the excess manas would be used due to countering the downsides of denser space manas and the fact that the new teleportation formation would drag in manas at a higher density naturally. This was just a way to begin utilizing the formation though, they would need lasting effects at a later date so the flurry of information now was going to birth a lot of theories.

Walker heard a lot of the conversations and was picking up a lot of material degradation worries and how they would need to increase the rune maintenance staffing for the city and everywhere else. Since there were the smaller magic towers helping balance manas and also sharing manas, the idea that there would be improved rune pathways and maintenance did not seem too intimidating. It would just be a new set of recruitment and new specialized training.

At the end of the day it meant there would be a lot of new classes related to diagnosing and repairing rune formations and other magically inclined creations. The world was shifting toward more of the rune formation based creation and Walker wasn’t sure if he would recognize everything in a hundred years.

He stopped for a moment and laughed a bit. He hadn’t considered what genesis would be in a hundred years and what he would see when he was the one to look out at it. He hadn’t really considered the many years he could live all that much. He had theorized about it, but he hadn’t really imagined himself actually doing it.

Sometimes it was just one of these things out of sight and out of mind. The future was always hazy.

"This is amazing." The half dwarf rune carver had stopped carving. One of the tools he had been using was basically trash due to the fact that the mana he used was higher and the tool had been used constantly for the last three hours of carving without stopping. The tools the rune carvers used were specialized and they did not usually get abused like this. But in this situation where they had been in enlightenment, it made sense that there would be a little loss here and there.

"Amazing? We just made a proper space rune. This thing isn’t a formation, it’s one rune!" The demi-human rune carver roared with laughter seeing that he was looking at a singular shape and not a formation.

They had all been trying to make up a formation and didn’t even realize that a singular spatial rune was enough to constitute an entire formation within itself. Not because it gathered that much space mana, but because of the effects space held over the elemental manas.

Every single mana needed space mana to act as a base for them. meaning that the runes they used were all just parts and they had been missing the true complete essence of what a spatial rune would be. They had never completed it and the smaller runes that every single rune carver believed were the issue. They had all believed in something smaller not in something larger. The bigger picture had been lost to them.

"That is a space elemental rune. The first created by carvers of Genesis and it is whole instead of what I have seen before. The other genius carvers and young new class holders had parts of it here, here, and here, but I had no idea until I felt space being used by someone that mastered it multiple times over, that I was thinking too small too. I just lacked the dedication and training to do anything alone. So my insight was better used to give all of you the missing pieces to complete your projects."

While seemingly humble, Walker was more amazing to be honest. His focus on the rune formation like this were simply too small and fleeting to be called perfect or advanced. He could carve runes but his were all focused on armor, weapons, gathering manas, and storing manas. That was what he had learned from the wandering blacksmith and other craftsmen.

Therefore, Walker was not able to see those who actually spent their lives understanding all of this. "I saw a language condensed in to runes that made no sense to anyone but myself so this is just another step toward being able to understand something like that as a world and unified people. I hope we can keep adapting. I feel like the runes are a way to make mana in to substance, you know?"

His small question caused another glint to flash in the eyes of the carvers who began writing intensely. But the two he had been working next to had already begun to bring mages over. They were using the outer rune formations with elemental manas as the method of activation. But there was a significant decrease in mana that flowed through and caused the spatial rune to activate.

Now having an entirely whole space rune seemed to be making huge changes. The space mana gathers and the other manas were separated making it purer. Not perfect, but Walker felt this was the way he could use teleportation to step and reach a distance ten feet away. However, it was on a more refined scale, he felt like he could teleport across the city without a sweat using this rune.

"I can use this rune to move all around Genesis. What would happen if all of you made multiple in to a larger formation? Instead of condensing and shrinking the space rune and formation, we should expand it all, right?"

Now they had a direction to take this. The teleportation to the Sigil continent would take less mana and all they would need is new runes carved, a better formation, and a larger formation? Why would they hesitate? This was exactly their goal. They could make certain runes smaller for different mana gathering this or that, but they could make this formation much larger since the space in every elemental rune teleportation formation was given excess so that people could wait and be away from the formation for safety.

Before Walker could say another world, the entire testing area was being cleared. They didn’t care about smaller projects right now. So many of the researching careers had already cleaned up the workbenches and were making themselves part of the unified effort.
