Mated To My Best Friend's Lycan Alpha Brothers
Chapter 316: We Are Waiting For My Sister
CHAPTER 316: WE ARE WAITING FOR MY SISTER
(Author’s POV)
"Eli, what the heck did you take so long, huhh? I called you ages ago," Dion questioned after Elio finally showed up. He had been waiting for him for quite a while at the restaurant’s reception area. "And why~ .... Why do you look like you have been looted?"
Elio’s appearance was a little messed up. His hair was ruffled and sticky. One end of his shirt was out. There were even a few buttons missing from his shirt, so his chest was also exposed. And~ ...... There was a strange, unfamiliar smell coming from him as well. There were even a few stains of blood on him.
Scratching the back of his head, Elio said, "There was an emergency I couldn’t ignore."
"Emergency?" Dion narrowed his eyes at his brother’s words. "What kind of emergency?" He then looked around and added, "Where is Rave? Why isn’t he with you? Is the emergency related to him?"
"No~ .... No~ .... Brother Rave is still at the jewellery store. As for the emergency, on my way here~ ... a few shady guys were in a confrontation with a pregnant lady. I just helped her shoo them away, but one of the compliances pushed her without my notice. Although I caught her in time, her water broke," Elio explained to him what happened.
"Ohh~ .... So, you were playing the hero. Makes sense. Is she alright?" Dion asked.
"Ummhmm~ .... The medics came just in time. I went to the hospital, and gladly, she and the baby are both fine," Elio stated.
Dion nodded in understanding, then gave a once over to his brother, remarking, "But you are clearly not fine."
Elio narrowed his eyes at his comment. A puzzling expression appeared on his face.
"You need to get changed. You can’t go to your friend looking like you have come after just committed a crime. She will for sure run away from you if she sees you like this," Dion pointed out at his overall messy appearance.
Elio lowered his face to see his rumpled shirt and unkempt, grubby look, "I guess I have to."
"Yes, you do. Come with me," saying this, starting to walk out of the restaurant. Elio followed his lead. They both went to a nearby store to get new, clean clothes for Elio.
Meanwhile, inside the private room, the trio was almost done with their lunch. Wendy patted her stomach and commented, "I ate a lot more than usual. But can’t help~ ...... it was sooooo~ delicious."
"I am glad you liked it," Amy said with a smile.
"But I feel really bad that so much food is going to get wasted," Wendy said with a regretful tone. Her voice was low.
Hearing her, Wendy rang the bell, and within a few seconds the waiting staff arrived. Amy said, "Please, box the remaining food for us. And~ .... Get the bill as well."
The staff hesitated but then nodded, "Yes, ma’am."
Wendy commented, "I have heard this place doesn’t do takeouts or to go boxes."
Amy just smiled and didn’t say a word about that. She then glanced at Myra and said, "Let’s go for now. Harris will take care of the rest."
All of them got up and went out of the room. As they reached the entrance, Myra had a sudden urge to pee. After all, she had drunk too much water earlier. She excused herself, saying, "I need to use the bathroom. You guys, please go ahead. I will just be back."
"I will come with you, too," Amy suggested after seeing that Myra had not fully recovered. Myra also sensed her reasoning and said, "Mrs. Garcia, I will be fine on my own. Just wanted to wash up my face."
Amy didn’t press further. She just took out a silk scarf from her limited edition Hermes bag and said, "Take this with you. Use it as a towel."
Myra was about to say no, but Amy added, "Just take it, umm~" With no choice, she took it, thanked her and walked in the other direction. ’I will just not use it and return it to her afterwards,’ she thought.
Amy and Wendy went out of the entrance. Harris came out soon as well, after footing the bill and with quite a few takeaway bags in his hands. They waited for Myra as Amy said, "Harris, go and get the car."
Although Harris was puzzled, he just replied, "Yes, ma’am," and went away.
Now that they were standing alone, Amy started asking random questions, "So, Wendy. How do you like Esteria and Red Stone?"
"I just love it here. Though at first, I was reluctant to leave our native place and come to Esteria," Wendy answered truthfully.
"Ohh~ .... So, you aren’t a native here," Amy inquired even more.
"Nahh~ ...... our family is basically from Damona. We came to Esteria about a year ago as my sister got a full time scholarship here," Wendy told her. A proud smile appeared on her face.
"Full time scholarship, at Red Stone. That’s quite a feature," Amy remarked. "From your smile, I can tell how much you adore your sister."
"Yeah~ .... How can I not. She is just too awesome. The best sister in the world. Always looking out for me and the others. Though I sometimes wish she could look after herself first," Wendy stated.
As they were conversing like that, Wendy saw Dion walking towards them from a distance. Beside him was Elio, now neatly dressed in faded denim pants, a forest green casual shirt, underneath which he wore a white tee.
Amy saw that Wendy’s attention had shifted and glanced in the direction where she was looking. Her eyes flickered at the sight of Everests brothers.
Soon, Dion and Elio stood before them. When Dion noticed Amy beside Wendy, he couldn’t help but feel amused. He then started, "We meet again, Miss. Are you done with your meal?" His charismatic, signature smile is etched on his lips.
Wendy nodded and said, "Yes, Mr. Everests." She then gazed at Elio, who was silent. Actually, he was feeling awkward and didn’t know what to say. He was going through a classic introvert problem.
"I didn’t know you were an acquaintance of Mrs. Garcia," Dion commented, acting all surprised. He then faced Amy and said, "Mrs. Garcia, it’s a pleasure to meet you."
With a polite smile, Amy muttered, "Likewise, Mr. Dion. But I didn’t know you were familiar with me?"
"Of course, I will know you. After all, you are the owner of ’dev-ine’s’ artwork. How can I not?" Dion said, his tone peculiar. "You see, our company signed a contract with the artist." He added.
A glint appeared in Amy’s eyes after hearing his words, "That’s quite astonishing."
Dion, when he noticed his younger brother hadn’t said anything and was just standing beside him like a statue, he poked his elbow at him, urging him to say something.
Wendy, the vocal one, started first, "Mr. Elio, I am glad to meet you again. How have you been?" She asked with a genuine smile.
Getting his cue, Elio answered confidently, "I am good. Happy to see you as well."
At his comment, a faint yet crimson blush appeared on Wendy’s cheeks.
As they were talking amongst themselves, Myra, who was heading out of the restaurant, heard familiar voices and furrowed her brows. She could clearly tell that Wendy and Amy were talking with someone from the opposite gender. Without much thought, she was about to step out, but Amy’s scarf, which she was holding in her hands, slipped off.
As he bent forward to pick it up, she glanced out of the glass door and was stunned to see who they were talking to. Instinctively, she turned around and hid behind a curtain. ’What are they doing here? Damn, this bad luck of mine. Why do I always run into these brothers?’
From where she was hiding, she could clearly hear and see what was happening outside. Wendy was smiling from ear to ear, talking to Elio, who looked as handsome as always. Dion was also holding a conversation with Amy, looking his drop dead gorgeous self as well.
At that time, Harris returned with the car as well. He stepped out and waited by the side to finish their conversation.
Elio noticed it and said to Wendy, "I guess your ride is already here."
"That’s too bad. I was liking our conversation a lot," Dion added, making a disheartened face. He then asked for Wendy’s contact information, which she gave without much thought.
Noticing that Amy kept looking inside, Dion then asked, "Are you waiting for someone?"
Wendy replied to this one, "We are waiting for my sister."
Both Dion and Elio nodded. Wendy then said, more to herself, "Why is she not here yet? It has been quite a while now?"
Myra could tell what was going on inside Wendy’s head as she was looking in her direction. She was merely concealed by a curtain. Her head started flaring with alarm sirens. She was in a state of utter bit dilemma. And didn’t know what to do now, "Ohhh god~ ..... please help me."
