CHAPTER 63: CHAPTER 63

Rose slowly stood from the floor and took a step back, her body feeling empty, and so did her heart.

Cassius still had his arm around Elowen, smiling at her.

"Come on, I asked them to prepare your room for you," Casius held her hand and led her into the castle, walking passed Rose.

"Oh, look! Cassius! It’s a human!" Elowen’s amber eyes glowed as she looked at Rose.

She immediately turned away from the direction Cassius was heading and went toward Rose on speed.

Before Rose could find a way to step back, Cassius appeared in front of her in lightning speed, stopping Elowen by placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Calm down, Elowen. She’s not your concern, she’s just my slave," He said in a calming tone.

Elowen’s eyes stopped glowing, she took a step back but didn’t remove her eyes from Rose.

"A human slave? Cassius, how did she get in our kingdom? How did she become your slave?" Elowen flipped her hair, her eyes narrowing at Rose.

Cassius moved and held Elowen’s hand, "Come on, dinner will soon be served, let’s go," He gently tugged her away from Rose, climbing up the stairs with her.

Rose bit her lip as she watched them leave.

What was this pain in her chest?

She couldn’t even move her limbs anymore, she felt pinned in a place as her heart kept bouncing and shattering in a spikey ground.

Why did Cassius kiss Elowen?

Who was she?

His real mate?

"Rose, Ms. Cornelia had asked for you in the kitchen," An elven slave walked up and informed her.

Rose blinked and slowly raised her head to look at test elf, "Why?" She asked, uninterested.

"I don’t know, Rose, I’m just a messenger," the elven slave replied.

Rose nodded.

She forced her leg to lift up from the floor, feeling like a robot as she moved toward the kitchen.

As she approached the kitchen, her mind was occupied with the scene of Cassius kissing Elowen; he hadn’t once looked in her eyes from the moment Elowen flew into his arms.

"Rose! Watch out!" A voice called after Rose from the side.

Rose suddenly came back to her senses and looked up to see what was ahead of her. Her eyes instantly widened as she saw herself walking right into a young man who was carrying two jugs of blood.

It was too late for her to act, she collided with the young man, pushing the jugs out of his hands.

Shattering sounds silenced the room, drawing everyone to snap their heads toward them.

Rose gasped softly, "Oh no... I’m so sorry, I -"

"It’s okay, it’s okay. It’s not your fault, I wasn’t looking, it’s alright," He held Rose’s hand as she was about to bend and pick up the shards of glasses.

Rose looked up and stared into the brown eyes of the young man, his hand felt cold on hers and she knew he was a vampire slave.

"It’s really my fault, and I’m sorry, I’ll clean it up," She said and tried stepping away to go get a mop and a bucket.

"No," He held her hand, shaking his head at her.

"I’ll take the blame, Rose. Don’t worry, I will." He gave her a soft smile and walked away from her.

"Are you sure you’ll take the blame, Sun? It was for Ms. Elowen’s dinner," An elf spoke as Sun carried a mop bucket over.

"It’s my business, Frederick. Not yours," Sun, replied.

"I’m really sorry," Rose said again as Sun started to sweep the shards into the dust pan.

"Rose! Get over here, please!" Cornelia called from the corner of the kitchen.

"You can go, I’ve got this," Sun said and cleared her path

Rise went over to Cornelia with a curious face, "What do you need for, Cornelia?" She asked quietly.

"What’s in your head. Spilling Elowen’s drink I’d the wrongest thing to do. The girl’s a maniac," Cornelia whispered.

Rose looked away from her to hide the pain that woukd flash in her eyes as she heard Elowen’s name again. She couldn’t help but keep imagining her lips on Cassius.

"Something happened?" Cornelia placed her hand on Rose’s arm.

Rose shook her head, "No, I’m fine. What have you called me for? Do you need my help?" Sje questions with a forced smile.

Cornelia sighed, "Yes. The master is having din er with his family. As usual, every slave will serve her it’s master. You, will serve the master tonight, Rose. Please, be extra careful; Elowen is trouble, you woukd get to understand soon but do everything possible to steer clear of her path. Understood?" Cornelia genlty placed a tray in Rose’s hand.

Rose nodded. "I understand." She way he’s as Cornelia placed a glass and a jug of blood in the tray.

"Now, carefully, Rose. Take this up to the dining hall." Cornelia nodded at Rose.

Rose smiled and turned away from Cornelia; she took a deep breath and stated to walk put of the kitchen.

"Careful, Rose. We don’t want this heads rolling tonight," Sun joked as Rose walked through the door.

Rose gave him a small smile but she felt like his words were not entirely a joke.

Form the way everyone was talking about Elowen, Rose got extremely curious about her. She wanted to know her history and the history beyween her and Cassius.

Thinking about how Elowen and Cassius must have been a couple in the past, and maybe, they are still a couple, it made her feel something akin to jealousy.

She didn’t have the right to be jealous, she was his slave, and she was never to be loved by him, but her heart was feeling something totally different from her head.

"You can do this, Rose. Just act normal, keep your eyes on the floor and ignore whatever they’re doing," She whispered to herself as she stood in front of the dining hall.

She pushed the door open and gently walked inside the dark room, her heart beating with each step she took.

She reached the table and dropped the tray at the head of the table, where she had see Casius sit before.

No one was there, she wondered how long it woukd take before they all arrived.

’What was he doing with her?’ She thought quietly.

Her mind was setting up different scenes in her head, memories of how Cassius had suckked her clit made her ball her fists as she imagined him him doing the same thing to her.

She stepped closer to the tall pillar behind her as she heard footsteps approaching the dining hall.

Soon, slaved walked in carrying trays of blood and food. She knew the food was for Eliot, he didn’t drink blood like the rest.

"See? I told you I ckukd handle it," Sun winked at Rose as he placed down his tray down beside Cassius’s.

Rose smiled and nodded, but her mind was trying to figure out why Rlowen had to join Casius and his siblings for dinner. She thought that only pure blood, Levin descendants specifically, were tbe only ones worth to sit in this dining...

Maybe she was rely his real mate, that could be the only explanation.

Soon, the slaves suddenly stared to pull put tbe chairs in front of them.

"They’re arriving," Sun whispered to Rose and pointed to Cassius’s chair.

Rose blinked, "Right, draw out the chair," She muttered and went forward.

She held the back of Cassius’s long chair and gently pulled it back, biting her lips from how heavy it was.

After that, she took a fee step away from the chair, just like the other slaves did.

Her eyes went to the door, and her heart broke all over again.

Cassius walked inside with Elowen beside him, his arm wrapped around her tiny waist.

’Keep your eyes to the floor,’ She reminded herself.

Her fists clenched hard, her nails digging into her palms.

They walked past her, and once again, Cassius didn’t once look her way.

So much for being addicted to her. She guessed he had found someone he was addicted to.

"Here’s your seat, Elowen," Cassius gently held her hand and led her to sit down.

"Thank you, Cassius. Caring as always," She kissed his cheek before lower g herself to the chair.

Cassius gave her a smile and went over to lower himself on his chair.

"Hi, Rose," Eliot suddenly walked up to Rose amd kissed her cheek.

Rose felt almost all the eyes on her.

Sun stared at her in a strange way, Elowen sent her a degrading look while Cassius only glanced at her and immediately removed his eyes.

Rose knew that something was wrong, Cassius never let Elikt close to her, he would have been on his feet drawing her away from him, butbhe had just glanced at her and returned to what he wad doing.

"Hi," Roae. Said in a very small voice.

"Hi, Nephew! Long time no see! Look how strong you’ve grown!" Elowen stood and went over to Eliot, hugging him.

Eliot gave her a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, "Never knew you’d be back here after what you did, Elowen," He whispered so only her heard what he said.

Rose was behind Eliot so sje saw how Elowen’s face had changed the moment Eliot spoke to her.

She slowly stepped away from him, putting on a smile, "Oh, nephew, you’re still funny as always. Come on, have a sit, let’s have some blood," She said and pointed to the chair beisde Cassius on the other side of the table.

"Sure, but I’m not like you, I eat real food, Elowen. I don’t thrive on blood," he smiled before walking over to sit down.

"Rose? Right?" Elowem asked as sjebstepled close to her.

Rose gritted her teeth nodded, "It is," she replied.

Elowen nodded, "Pour my drink," She ordered.

Rose paused, looked Elowen right in the eyes and replied, "I can’t, Elowen."
