Mated To The Dead Prince
Chapter 66
CHAPTER 66: CHAPTER 66
Rose stood in front of Cassius and his four brothers, this time, her face wasn’t lowered because she wasn’t sorry for what she did.
She wasn’t about to let herself become the character that is bullied by some ex lovers.
They stood in an empty hall in the castle, staring at Rose.
"What happened?" Cassius asked quietly.
Rose turned her face to Elowen who was standing beside Cassius with rage written all over her face. "Ask her," she replied.
Eliot smirked, glancing at Elowen.
"You bitch -"
"Stay, Elowen," Cassius ordered.
Elowen glared at Rose, her chest rising and falling in anger.
"You know? I think Rose is awesome. If we all drop our anger, pride and stereotype, we would see that Rose is a special being. I mean, look what she did to Elowen, was that air-bending?" Daimen spoke, stepping away from his brothers and moving toward Rose.
"She’s trouble, we should kill her before she gets out of hand," Elowen snarled.
"How did you do it, Rose?" Diamen asked as he stood in front of Rose, smiling mischievously.
"This is a serious matter, Damien. Stop playing around with it," Damon cautioned.
"I don’t see what Rose did wrong. In the human world it’s called defence mechanism. We all know Elowen, she had probably-"
"I did nothing to her, Cassius. If you what to punish me for something I didn’t do, you can go ahead, I’m used to it," Rose said, unapologetic.
Elowen scoffed, staring at Rose in disbelief, suddenly, she started to sub. "I see what’s going on. My own family is believing a human over me, she’s got you all bewitched. I saw her, Cassius, she was being all clingy with Sun, you think she’s loyal to you? She’s letting another -"
"Enough, Elowen. Don’t cause more trouble now," Eliot stopped her.
"You know what I think?" Dabmond spoke calmly.
"What?" Damon asked him.
"I think we should all leave. Let Rose and her master sort it out. She doesn’t answer to us, so, I don’t understand why Elowen has called us all here... i was in a meeting with Jaroslav, I would like to return and finish it off," Dabmond bowed to Cassius and walked out of the hall.
"Leave us," Cassius finally said.
Daimen sighed, "I think you’re cool; tell me all about how you did that late, yeah?" He whispered to Rose.
Rose stepped away from him, too angry to respond to his jokes.
"Better watch your back, human, your might have the whole royal family under your spell, but I’m here to break it off and put you in your right place," Elowen whispered as she walked past Rose.
Soon, everyone left the hall, leaving Rose and Cassius alone in the hall.
Rose said her ground, maybe, it was Isolde, but she was deelunv really fearless and rwdy tones e whatever came at her.
She was really in her ’done’ era. She no longer gave a duck abou what anyone or anybody said. If this was how it felt to be powerful then she would embrace her powers, no more shutting them out.
"What did say about Sun?" Cassius asked.
Rose moved her eyes to him, "Are you not going to ask what I did to your lover? You’re worried for the wrong reason," She smirked at him.
Cassius balled his fists beisde him, "Answer my question, Rose," He shut his eyes, not moving from his position.
"I already told you, I did nothing with him, bit as usual, you don’t believe me," she replied.
"Come here," Cassius whispered.
Rose didn’t move, "No." She said.
Cassius slowly opened his eyes, pinning his eyes on her, "For one minute I let you out of my side, you run into the arms of another man..." He fluidly moved across to her, "Is this how you plan to make me fall for you?" He whispered in her ear.
Roae didn’t flinch, "I did nothing with Sun, if I did, I’d have his scent on me. You’re lover is a pure blood but she’s so dumb she didn’t think of that when she lied," she pointed out.
Cassius arms raised, holding Rose’s waist, "She’s not my lover, Rose," He said.
"Everyone says she is. I saw you kiss her, hold her, smile at her...something you never do with me." She realized she sounded jealous and immediately shit her mouth.
Cassius’s arms tightened around her, "You woukd understand everything soon." He promised.
Rose removed his arm from her and stepped back, "I don’t want to k ow your history. I just want you to love me..." She tilted her head to the side and stretched out her hand, waiting.
Cassius stared at her, he had a lot of questions to ask her, bit he needed to know what she wanted to do first.
He gave her his hand amd let her draw him close to her.
He narrowed his eyes as she slowly caressed his face, "Can I ask a question?" She whispered.
Cassius raised a brow at her, "Ask."
Rose licked her lips. "Will you really love me? Will you really open your heart to me if I truly tried my best?" She asked quietly.
Cassius wasnt expecting those questions from her, he felt like he was back to the scene when she woke up from her two days sleep.
"Humans and vampires cannot-"
"Will you love me if tried, Cassius? Let’s pretend we’re equal creatures, would you love me for me? And not hate me because of a generational obligation yo hate humans. Will you love me because I’m Rose and I make you feel things you never thought you coud feel? Because I’m beautiful, beautiful I treat you the way you secretly want to be treated...like an ordinary person," Rose whispered, her eyes shining with candid emotions.
"What happens if I really fall in love with you, Cassius... if I said I love you, would you tell me that you love me back. Not as a master and slave but as a man and woman who have found a sweet comfort in one another," Rose wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him, placing her head on his chest.
"I’m tired, Cassius. I do want my life back, and I do want to go home. But, I think I’m falling in love with you. I hate myself for it; you treat me the worse, say the meanest things to me, I shoumd hate you, fear you..." She chuckled, shaking her head.
"This isn’t Isolde speaking, Cassius..." She looked up at his face, "This is Rose, betraying herself, and telling you that she loves you. What do you have to say, Casssiu? I love you," She whispered.
Cassius Watched her blue eyes, his breathe getting heavier and slower;he opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out; he stared at her face, unable to form words.
"Say something," Her voice trembled.
Cassius didn’t speak, he stared deep into her eyes and felt his body warming form her words and touch.
Could he love her? Did he already love her? Why couldn’t he say something?
"Master, we have a problem!" The door slammed open and Felonious stood in fron of it, his head bowed and his chest rising and falling as of he had ran.
Cassius’s hand instinctively tightened around Rose, pulling her closer as he narrowed his eyes at Felonious.
"What’s the matter, Felonious?" Cassius asked, frowning.
"It’s Rose, Master. The people want her dead. Rumors have spread about her blood and what she had done to Elowen. They want to start a protest across the kingdom; they asked you to chose, Master... chose to save your kingdom, you people, or chose to protect a. Retire who poses as danger to your people," Felonious informed in a clear voice.
Rose’s heart skipped; what was happening now? Everyone wanted her dead?
"This is not a problem, Felonious. Ask those involved to come to me," He waved his hand dismissively at Felonious.
Felonious bowed, leaving the hall.
Rose slolwy stepped away from Cassius, a sad smile on her face, "I guess I was doomed to die anyway. At least, I’d die knowing that I told you how I felt about -"
"Be quiet and follow me," He grabbed her hand amd led her out of the hall.
He led her up his stairs, his hand holding her possessively.
They reached his room and he made Rose go in, "Don’t leave here until I come for you, do you understand?" He questioned, lookingaway from her.
Rose wanted to come out of the room but Cassius stopped her, "Just listen to me this once... please..." He finally looked into her eyes.
Rose sucked in a slow breath, "You’re scared..." She whispered, placing her hand on his that was holding the door.
Cassius clenched his jaws, moved closer and palmed the side of her face, "You said you loved me... I have to protect you... as a man protecting his woman," He placed a soft kiss on her lips and moved away, closing the door before she could respond.
