Maybe My Soulmate! (GL)
Chapter 227: Perverted woman?
CHAPTER 227: PERVERTED WOMAN?
Even Su Yubing, who always maintained her serene, calm, and composed image, could not withstand it. Her lips twitched uncontrollably. She raised her hand to cover her mouth, trying to smother the laughter that threatened to burst out completely. Her body, however, betrayed her as it trembled slightly while she hugged Mo Yuxin in return.
The sight was utterly ridiculous: the usually aloof Su Yubing, fighting desperately not to laugh, and the youngest chaos being, Mo Yuxin, practically quaking with mirth in her arms.
Shen Miqiu blinked, stunned. Her face reddened with both anger and embarrassment. She had spoken with such righteous indignation, pouring out her fury—yet these two were... laughing?!
Shen Mingyue, on the other hand, stood frozen in place, her expression stiff as she processed the outrageous accusation thrown at her. Her cheeks heated further, her dignified aura cracking just a little as she realized exactly what Miqiu had shouted in front of everyone.
The room, once frozen, now trembled with barely-contained laughter, like a dam on the verge of breaking.
Shen Mingyue brows frowned and it could be seen that she was angry but also highly embarrassed as the tips of her ears were visibly red.
Shen Mingyue: "Shen Miqiu!"
Her voice cracked through the air like a whip.
Cold, sharp, and carrying the terrifying weight of destruction itself, her aura burst out. The black waves of her power rolled outwards, suffocating, oppressive—but not mindlessly. It didn’t spread recklessly to flatten mountains or shatter the heavens; no, Shen Mingyue controlled it with terrifying precision. The aura funneled itself into one direction only—straight at Shen Miqiu, the intended target of her fury.
Shen Miqiu’s hair swayed in the pressure, her sleeves rattling under the invisible wind, but her posture? Completely unmoved.
Her chin was tilted up, her hands crossed, and her glare firmly fixed on Shen Mingyue. She didn’t even flinch, didn’t step back an inch.
Instead, she yelled again, louder than before, as though her voice could cut through destruction itself.
Shen Miqiu:"What!! Don’t think you can suppress me just like this!! You think just because you’re Yin’s soulmate, you can do whatever the hell you want with her?! Hah! You’re dreaming!! Besides—what if something had gone wrong during her pregnancy? Huh?! Her body right now is just that of a human! You—you perverted woman! You lustful demon!"
She jabbed her finger at Mingyue’s chest like an angry teacher catching a student cheating on a test.
The room went quiet for a heartbeat.
Shen Mingyue’s lips twitched.
...Perverted? Demon?
She wanted to roar, to lash out, to slam the table and demand Shen Miqiu to shut her mouth. But instead, an unexpected heaviness coiled in her chest.
Because... well... Miqiu wasn’t completely wrong.
When she first saw Yin again after so many years, after so many lifetimes apart, she had lost herself. Completely. Her restraint snapped like a bowstring under too much tension. She’d been impulsive. A little... greedy. A little too rough. A little too impatient.
...Okay, more than a little.
And yes, now that she thought about it, it had been during Yin’s pregnancy.
Mingyue pinched the bridge of her nose.
She had made sure Yin’s body was protected by countless layers of safeguards, had double-checked everything with her own powers, ensured nothing would happen... but still, when she replayed it in her head, it did feel reckless.
So when Miqiu’s words cut into her—"perverted woman"—her heart sank. A trace of guilt slipped through her anger.
She exhaled slowly, forcing her aura to retract before it crushed the stubborn brat into a pancake.
Her eyes narrowed.
Shen Mingyue:"You! You little brat... You don’t need to intervene in the matters of adults! Hmph! You’ll understand when you finally fall in love with a woman one day. Until then, what can a single dog like you possibly know about adult romance?!"
Her tone dripped with mockery.
The words landed.
Shen Miqiu froze.
Her face turned stiff like a statue, her mouth opening, then snapping shut again. Her ears turned a bright shade of red.
Because Shen Mingyue had just stabbed her right in her weakest spot.
Her eternal sore spot.
Among all seven beings of Chaos... only she—only Shen Miqiu—remained single.
Forever.
Her eye twitched violently.
Shen Miqiu:"...You... You dare...!"
Her voice cracked halfway between fury and despair.
It wasn’t like she didn’t want a soulmate! Who in their right mind wouldn’t want someone who adored them, someone who stuck with them through all eternity, who shared their power and their pain?
But no. Of all people, it had to be her—the Chaos Flame itself—who was destined to be alone.
She’d spent eons watching the others in their little cozy couples.
Law and Life, for example. Oh, those two were unbearable. Always together. Law might look like the iciest, most rigid woman in existence, her expression never changing, but the moment Life appeared? Her eyes softened, her lips curved, and she turned into a puddle of warmth. It made Miqiu want to gag every time.
Shen Miqiu:"Ugh! Even Law—LAW, of all people—found someone who melts her cold, dead heart! What the hell! And don’t even get me started on Life! She’s so smug about it too! Always smiling that gentle smile, acting like she’s got the secret to the universe, just because she has a wife who dotes on her every second! It’s disgusting!"
She stomped her foot for emphasis, her voice echoing like thunder.
Shen Mingyue folded her arms, staring at her with the expression of a mother watching her child throw a tantrum in the candy aisle.
But Miqiu wasn’t done. Oh no. Once her floodgates opened, there was no stopping her.
Shen Miqiu:"And don’t think I forgot about the previous Rule! Even she—SHE—managed to find her soulmate in the vastness of the multiverse! Do you have any idea how frustrating that is?!"
Her arms flailed dramatically.
Shen Miqiu:"Even Yin and Yang are together! Lovers across eternity! Do you know what that feels like, Mingyue?! To be the ONLY ONE eating dog food for billions of years straight?!"
Mingyue blinked, deadpan.
Shen Mingyue:
"...You’re really shouting at me because you’re single?"
Shen Miqiu:"YES!!"
Her voice cracked again, high-pitched, and she immediately coughed, trying to cover her embarrassment.
Shen Miqiu:"I mean—no!! That’s not the point!! The point is—you’re irresponsible! Lustful! Shameless! How dare you... do those things to Yin when she’s in such a delicate condition?! What if she fainted! What if she broke something! What if—what if the baby was traumatized before being born?!"
Mingyue’s expression twitched.
Shen Mingyue:"...The baby can’t hear anything."
Shen Miqiu:"You don’t know that!! Babies are mysterious!! They might—might imprint on sounds!! What if the first thing the child associates with is you making... those noises?!"
She flailed her arms again, horrified at her own imagination.
Mingyue actually choked on air.
Shen Mingyue:"...Shen Miqiu. Shut. Up."
Shen Miqiu:"No!! You shut up! You indecent woman! Shame! Shame on you!"
She pointed an accusing finger, shaking with both anger and embarrassment, while Mingyue’s face turned red—not from shame this time, but from sheer exasperation.
The two stood there, glaring, one fuming in frustration, the other radiating domineering calm barely held together with duct tape.
Finally, Mingyue exhaled.
Her voice lowered, quiet but steady.
Shen Mingyue:"...I admit I was impulsive. But don’t you dare question my care for Yin. I ensured every possible safeguard. I would never let anything happen to her or our child."
Her hand clenched at her side, her tone firm with conviction.
For a second, the sincerity broke through Miqiu’s anger.
She hesitated, biting her lip. Her heart softened for just a moment.
But then she remembered Mingyue’s earlier jab.
"Single dog."
Her eyes blazed anew.
Shen Miqiu:"...Still doesn’t change the fact that you’re a perverted woman!"
Mingyue’s head dropped into her hands.
Shen Mingyue:"...I should never have started this conversation."
The atmosphere was getting dangerous.
Inside the room, Shen Mingyue’s aura still simmered like an active volcano, while Shen Miqiu practically vibrated with righteous fury. Their emotional clash wasn’t just verbal—it was Chaos-level. The very air trembled, the barrier surrounding the chamber quivered like a sheet of glass about to crack.
If it broke... well, the surrounding mountains, rivers, maybe even unlucky mortals within miles would have to deal with the fallout.
That was when Mo Yuxin sighed and decided she had no choice but to intervene. She glanced at Su Yubing, who was standing nearby with her usual cool composure, and gave her a small nod. Together, they stepped forward.
Mo Yuxin:"Okay, okay! Mother, let’s not get angry anymore. And, Sister Miqiu, you should also calm down."
She spread her hands, trying to look as innocent and harmless as possible, which wasn’t easy when both combatants were glaring daggers at each other.
Mo Yuxin:"Everything Mother did was for Mom’s sake, and we can’t deny that. Besides—if she hadn’t done what she did, I wouldn’t even be here today."
Her tone softened, deliberately dipping into something sad and pitiful.
Mo Yuxin:"So I’m really grateful for them. Sister Miqiu... do you not want me to be born?"
The room went silent.
Shen Mingyue blinked, then immediately frowned. Was her daughter guilt-tripping her aunt on purpose?
Su Yubing’s lips twitched. She knew Mo Yuxin well enough to recognize that her wife was 100% pulling a trick here.
But it worked.
Because Shen Miqiu reacted like she had just been struck by lightning.
Shen Miqiu:"Wh—WHAT?!"
Her eyes went wide, her hands flailing as if trying to physically grab the words out of the air and shove them back into Mo Yuxin’s mouth.
