CHAPTER 228: WHAT A MESS!.

Shen Miqiu:"No!! No, no, no!!! Don’t say it like that, little sister!"

She practically launched herself across the room, nearly tripping on her own robe, before skidding to a stop right in front of Mo Yuxin. She cupped Mo Yuxin’s cheeks in both hands with such intensity that Mo Yuxin had to lean back slightly.

Shen Miqiu:"Listen to me—why wouldn’t I want you to be born?! That’s nonsense! Pure nonsense!"

Her voice cracked as she shook her head so fast her hair whipped around.

Shen Miqiu:"I—I was just a little... excited, okay? I might’ve said some irresponsible things, but that’s all! Don’t take it seriously! You hear me?!"

Mo Yuxin blinked up at her, pretending to be startled.

Mo Yuxin:"...Really?"

Shen Miqiu:"Of course really! Absolutely really! One hundred percent, without a shred of doubt!! Don’t you dare think otherwise, little sister! Big Sister Miqiu would never, ever wish something like that on you!"

Her voice was practically trembling, her hands still holding Mo Yuxin’s face like she was afraid she’d vanish if she let go.

Mo Yuxin felt... oddly moved.

Sure, she had intended to guilt-trip her into calming down, but seeing her aunt this desperate, this anxious—it warmed something inside her chest.

Before she could answer, though, Shen Mingyue gave a long, pointed cough.

Shen Mingyue:"...If you’re done clinging to my daughter, Miqiu, you could perhaps apologize to me as well."

Her tone was dry, but her eyes betrayed a flicker of amusement.

Shen Miqiu froze, slowly turning her head like a rusty door hinge to glare at Shen Mingyue.

Shen Miqiu:"...Apologize? To you? Ha!"

Shen Mingyue:"...You insulted me, shouted at me, called me—what was it again? A perverted demon? Should I write it down for you?"

Shen Miqiu:"I said what I said!"

She puffed up her chest, but the effect was ruined by the way she was still cupping Mo Yuxin’s cheeks like an overprotective aunt refusing to let go of her niece.

Su Yubing finally stepped in.

Her voice wasn’t loud, but it was sharp, carrying the weight of someone who had no patience for chaos-induced drama.

Su Yubing:"Enough. Both of you."

Immediately, both Mingyue and Miqiu stiffened like schoolchildren caught fighting in the classroom.

Su Yubing’s gaze swept between them, cool and unwavering.

Su Yubing:"If you want to argue, fine. But not here. Not in front of Yuxin. And definitely not while the barrier is shaking like it’s about to collapse. If it breaks, do you plan to explain to the mortals outside why their mountains suddenly shattered?"

Silence.

Mingyue cleared her throat and shifted slightly.

Miqiu mumbled something under her breath that sounded suspiciously like, "Not my fault she’s shameless."

Su Yubing’s eyebrow twitched.

Mo Yuxin quickly cut in before the temperature dropped any lower.

Mo Yuxin:"Look, look! Everything’s fine now, right? Sister Miqiu didn’t mean what she said. Mother knows she went too far. And Mom’s glare is scarier than both of you combined, so maybe we should just... drop it?"

Her words earned her a sharp pinch on the cheek from Su Yubing, who gave her a look that clearly said, Don’t drag me into your schemes.

Mo Yuxin gave her wife a sheepish grin.

Meanwhile, Shen Miqiu still hadn’t let go of her.

Shen Miqiu:"Little sister, listen to me carefully. You’re precious, do you understand? Precious! If anyone dares say otherwise, I’ll burn them to ash!"

Her dramatic declaration made Mo Yuxin laugh despite herself.

Mo Yuxin:"Alright, alright. I understand, Big Sister. I was just teasing."

Shen Miqiu:"...Teasing?"

Her hands dropped. She blinked.

Shen Miqiu:"You—you mean you didn’t actually think I didn’t want you?!"

Mo Yuxin gave her an innocent smile.

Mo Yuxin:"Mm. But you really do get worked up easily, don’t you?"

Shen Miqiu’s jaw dropped. She pointed at Mo Yuxin, sputtering.

Shen Miqiu:"You—! You little—! You tricked me!!"

Mo Yuxin tilted her head sweetly.

Mo Yuxin:"But Sister, you look so much cuter when you’re flustered."

Shen Miqiu made a strangled sound somewhere between a growl and a whimper.

Shen Mingyue burst into laughter.

Shen Mingyue:"Hah! Finally, someone else makes you taste your own medicine, Miqiu!"

Shen Miqiu:"Shut up, perverted demon!!"

Shen Mingyue:"...You’re lucky I’m in a good mood, or I’d make you swallow those words."

Su Yubing pinched the bridge of her nose. She felt a headache just looking at them.

Mo Yuxin grabbed hold of Su Yubing’s hand and absentmindedly played with her slender fingers as if they were little treasures to be admired. She looked at her with a bright smile, her voice carrying a soft lilt that made Su Yubing’s heart itch.

"I’m really happy today, baby..." Mo Yuxin said gently, squeezing her hand as if she never wanted to let go.

Su Yubing’s cheeks warmed immediately, faint pink creeping across her porcelain skin. Though she tried to keep a straight face, the affection in Yuxin’s voice made it impossible to hold back her own smile.

She let out a soft sigh but returned the squeeze, her gaze turning impossibly tender. "You... you’re always saying things that make me blush." Her lips curved upward despite herself, and her eyes softened like melting snow.

Mo Yuxin leaned closer, lowering her head so that her breath tickled Su Yubing’s ear. "Because it’s true. Having you by my side, seeing you smile like this... even if the whole world collapsed, I’d still be happy."

Su Yubing’s heart skipped a beat. She glared at her lightly, but her glare was so weak it carried no deterrent at all. "You really... know no shame."

Outside, the first rays of dawn peeked through the window. The sun had already risen, spilling warm light across the room. The world had woken up, yet the two of them had talked all through the night without realizing. Not even a wink of sleep had been shared.

By this time, Shen Mingyue and Shen Miqiu, who had been with them earlier, finally took their leave, leaving the pair alone. The sound of the door closing was like the final chime announcing: now it’s just the two of you again.

Mo Yuxin wasted no time. The moment she heard the door shut, she immediately hugged Su Yubing around the waist like a large sticky child. "Baby, let’s take a bath together~"

Su Yubing gave her a suspicious look. "A bath... or another one of your attempts to make me collapse?"

Mo Yuxin blinked innocently, her expression the picture of purity. "What? Me? I just want to bathe with my wife. What’s wrong with that?"

Su Yubing snorted and dragged her into the bath anyway.

As expected, Mo Yuxin was not satisfied with just bathing. She clung, pouted, and teased endlessly. At one point she even tried to sneak her hands under the water toward places she shouldn’t.

"Stop it!" Su Yubing smacked her hand away with a splash, glaring at her.

Mo Yuxin only grinned, inching closer until her forehead bumped against Su Yubing’s shoulder. "Just one kiss then. Only one. Or I’ll cry."

In the end, Su Yubing gave in — again. She allowed Mo Yuxin to kiss her deeply, and even let her hands wander far enough to play with her breasts until the mischievous child was finally satisfied.

After what felt like half the bath being spent coaxing this unruly woman, Su Yubing managed to get them both cleaned up.

When she stepped out, she quickly cast a drying spell, dressed, and hurried to put on a fresh robe before Mo Yuxin came out. Experience had taught her that if Yuxin saw her standing around in just a bathrobe, she’d immediately pounce and drag her back for round two.

Today she chose a violet robe, long and flowing, like a wisp of mist trailing behind her. The silk shimmered faintly, embroidered with cloud and lotus patterns that caught the light like scattered stars. The wide sleeves draped elegantly, and the sash around her waist was tied in a delicate knot, accentuating her graceful figure without being overly revealing. Her hair, still damp at the ends, was tied up with a simple jade pin, the loose strands brushing softly against her neck. She truly looked like an immortal goddess descended from the heavens, otherworldly yet gentle.

Just as she was adjusting her sash, Mo Yuxin stepped out, still dripping from the bath, her hair loose and wild around her shoulders. The first thing she did, naturally, was throw her arms around Su Yubing from behind, pressing her damp body against the freshly dressed figure.

"Ahhh, baby, you smell so good. Let me hug you like this for a while."

Su Yubing shivered at the cold drops of water against her skin. "You—! You didn’t even dry yourself properly. Don’t stick that wet body of yours onto my robe!" She tried to pry Mo Yuxin’s arms off, but the clingy woman only tightened her hold, resting her chin on her shoulder.

"But I missed you."

Su Yubing’s lips twitched. "You missed me? We just spent the whole night together, then bathed together. When exactly did you not see me?"

Mo Yuxin thought for a moment, then replied with a serious face, "Just now, when you got dressed. That was unbearable."

Su Yubing rolled her eyes. "Unbearable? Hah. You’re unbearable."

Meanwhile, Mo Yuxin’s hands had already begun their slow crawl upward from Su Yubing’s waist, fingertips brushing teasingly against her belly before daring to creep higher.

Su Yubing, knowing exactly where those hands were going, slapped them away with a sharp smack. She turned around and glared at her wife, who was grinning like a mischievous fox caught red-handed.
