Merchant From Earth in the Magical World
Chapter 487 - 393 Assassination of the Tower Mage_2
CHAPTER 487: CHAPTER 393 ASSASSINATION OF THE TOWER MAGE_2
Tower Mages, from head to toe, inside and out, were all clad in Alchemy-made artifacts.
The highest hall of Alchemy wasn’t just built on boasts.
While diligently researching life Alchemy, Tower Mages spared no effort in protecting themselves.
Their clothes’ defensive capabilities were not much inferior to the Magic Weapons and super armaments developed by Eternal Domain, even featuring an automatic protection trigger mechanism.
Killing them was not an easy task.
Following behind Anderson into the skybridge was the primary target of this mission... Tower Mage Moflin.
Her body, due to elementalization, displayed colors far different from those of ordinary people. This not only granted her stronger elemental affinity but also allowed her to rapidly absorb elements to repair her body when injured.
Without knowing the extent of her elementalization, there was a chance that shots to her body wouldn’t be instantly lethal.
And Moflin was a Master Level Hero.
If she were allowed to unleash her magic, the Super Tactical Squad might face a tough battle.
Her body is blue; she must have water elementalization... Arlanda analyzed. The magic armor she wore had an integrated smart core, which calculated Moflin’s possible Defense magic based on collected data.
The smart core then input the calculation results into the sniper rifle. There, the rifle’s own smart core, through its integrated magical array, programmed the magic bullets.
The special magic bullets would be endowed with armor-piercing capabilities against Defense magic.
However, Moflin’s clothing and hat shone with a flowing iridescence, clearly containing high-level Defense magic.
Arlanda’s computations and data input instantly overloaded the smart core.
Hurry, hurry... Arlanda murmured softly, as Anderson, who was in the lead in her scope, noticeably slowed his pace.
She knew that a hero who had faced life-and-death battles possessed an instinct for danger.
Clearly, Anderson sensed something. The magic programming wasn’t yet complete.
I have to shoot now, or the chance will be lost!
Just as Arlanda was about to pull the trigger, Hibel’s smart core connected.
As a test model for validating super armaments, Hibel’s magic armor was even more advanced; even its chosen smart core was a Junior Intelligence meticulously nurtured by Chui Chui.
Even without a server, it possessed superior computational power.
With Hibel joining the calculation, the remaining magic programming was completed instantly.
Arlanda pulled the trigger the moment Anderson stopped in his tracks.
The bullet, already imbued with its magical attributes, entered the barrel. As it passed through, it was further enhanced with flight-assistance magic, its trajectory stabilizing after posture correction...
Anderson, frantic over the Floating Warship accident, led the Tower Mages onto the skybridge.
After crossing the skybridge and ascending a flight of stairs, they would reach the upper platform of the Lord’s Mansion, where a small aerial craft was docked.
Although riding a griffon would be faster, the mages disliked these feral beasts of the sky.
Especially Moflin, who absolutely could not endure the scent of griffons.
However, as soon as Anderson stepped onto the skybridge, he felt that something was not quite right.
His heart inexplicably sped up, and the air filled with a suffocating atmosphere.
This is a sensation that only appears on battlefields. But this is the Lord’s Mansion, the very core of the Wildwind Principality. Why would this feeling arise here and now?
Then Anderson realized the Alchemy Factory accident might not be as superficial as it seemed.
An incident at the Alchemy Factory, especially with the Floating Warship... I would undoubtedly go to inspect it, and I would take the Tower Mages with me. The mages would surely use this skybridge to get to the Alchemy Factory. If...
Anderson stopped in his tracks.
But before he could take any further action, a gunshot rang out. Then he felt someone fall behind him.
That was an Alchemy rifle from Eternal Domain! They’re actually inside my own Lord’s Mansion, and... and they’ve killed someone?
Anderson quickly raised shields toward the direction of the gunshot and then checked if he had been hit.
Upon confirming he was unharmed, Anderson, though relieved, also worriedly looked back.
What he saw next was a scene that struck him as if by Petrification Magic.
Lying on the ground was none other than Moflin.
Just moments ago, the arrogant and self-righteous Tower Mage Moflin lay motionless on the ground. Her mage’s hat had fallen nearby, her head shattered, blue blood spraying out in a large pool.
At that instant, magic seemed truly laughable. Even a Master Level hero like Moflin, when faced with an Alchemy rifle from Eternal Domain, was like a sheep waiting to be slaughtered. Who else could stand against such a weapon?
The other Tower Mages were all stunned, not even raising their Magic Shields.
They had genuinely witnessed Moflin’s death.
They didn’t know where the attack came from or what had launched it, but they could see the attack had triggered Moflin’s automatic Defense magic.
The Magic Shield expanded, its colors giving a sense of solid reassurance.
But the Magic Shield burst like a bubble, failing to provide the defense it was supposed to.
Moflin’s head was struck before the Tower Mages’ very eyes. In a spray of blood, her body slammed against a column on the side before collapsing to the ground.
The great Tower Mage Moflin, who had just been conversing freely with us, is dead just like that?
How ironic for the Tower Mages, who pursued eternal life.
For the first time, the Tower Mages truly recognized the brutality of war.
This is no game. It isn’t a story from a book. It turns out we too can die.
"Enemy attack! Activate the Magic Shields! Release the War Fog!" Anderson shouted anxiously, seeing the stunned Tower Mages.
But another gunshot rang out, and Mage Miler was shot in the head right in front of Anderson.
His automatic Defense magic also failed to activate.
"Idiots! If you don’t want to die, defend yourselves!" Anderson cursed the mages for their slow reaction, his heart filled with sorrow and fear.
Fortunately, Anderson’s curse jolted the remaining four Tower Mages awake. They quickly raised their Magic Shields and released the War Fog.
Gray smoke spread inside the skybridge.
But a strong wind blew from the side, instantly scattering the War Fog completely.
Anderson saw someone else at one end of the skybridge.
It’s Yan Xing!
He was wearing a suit of somewhat odd, white armor, holding a Knight’s sword.
Seeing Yan Xing, Anderson didn’t hesitate, immediately drawing his sword to engage him.
As long as I’m fighting Yan Xing, the sharpshooter who sniped Moflin and Miler won’t dare shoot at me. This is my Lord’s Mansion; the guards will soon fill this place. If I defeat Yan Xing, I can give an explanation to the Cloud Tower. And win this war!
Charge! Valiant Strike!
The shine of his sword, his swordsmanship’s keen edge, swept towards Yan Xing.
Yan Xing, blocking one end of the skybridge, met attack with attack. A similar charge, a similar Valiant Strike, clashed with Anderson.
Swords locked, Yan Xing said to Anderson, "I don’t want to kill you right now. Take your people and leave Storm City. Retreat along the western line to Highland City; you will not be attacked on the way."
Anderson replied, "You killed the great Tower Mage Moflin. To appease the Cloud Tower’s rage, I can only kill you. I will lead my army into Eternal Domain and Thunderous Swamp. Everything you own will be mine!"
"You are being utterly obstinate!" Yan Xing exclaimed.
"No, it’s you who are at death’s door! You’re far too arrogant!" Anderson retorted.
Yan Xing and Anderson broke apart, then clashed again. Swords collided continuously, their combat skills clashing, sending stone fragments flying in all directions. In an instant, the sturdy, suspended skybridge quaked, on the verge of collapse.
At the other end of the skybridge, Donna, having reached her position, held her gun with one hand and thrust swiftly toward the back of a mage facing away from her.
She used a clever technique, causing the gun’s shaft to flex during the thrust, then snap straight the instant it touched the Magic Shield, concentrating all the accumulated force onto a single point.
The tip of the gun touched the Magic Shield the Tower Mage had raised.
The magical intelligence program began to decrypt the Magic Shield’s magic structure.
The shield was weakened. The gun tip, reinforced by various magics, pierced the weakened shield and then plunged into the Tower Mage’s back, near his heart.
