CHAPTER 121: CHAPTER 0121: EXTREMELY DANGEROUS_1
Seeing that Tian Bingbing couldn’t stop him and Tian Guangjin was about to pull open the wardrobe door, Zhang Bin, who was squatting inside, was so frantic smoke could have been coming out of his ears.
He really didn’t want to be caught like this. He hadn’t done anything yet, hadn’t even managed to steal a kiss, and now he was being falsely accused. It would be a raw deal.
In his desperation, he came up with a brilliant idea and immediately dialed Tian Guangjin’s number in his mind.
Consequently, Tian Guangjin’s phone began to ring.
"Dad, your phone," Tian Bingbing said, trying to get his attention.
To her, this call was like a life-saving straw to a drowning person.
"I’m not answering anyone’s calls. Step aside and let him come out," Tian Guangjin said, fuming.
"Maybe it’s Xiao Bin calling?" Tian Bingbing lied through her teeth, just trying to buy a little more time.
Xiao Bin calling? How is that possible? He’s hiding right here in this wardrobe, Tian Guangjin mumbled to himself. Still, he pulled out his phone to check.
A look of shock spread across his face. The caller ID did, in fact, display Zhang Bin’s number.
He glanced suspiciously at the wardrobe. Could Zhang Bin really be making a call from inside there? I refuse to believe you won’t slip up.
He answered the call and put the phone to his ear, a sneer plastered on his face. Zhang Bin’s voice came through immediately. "I’m so sorry about last night, I got drunk. But why did you let me sleep on the ground?"
"Sleep on the ground? Where are you sleeping?" Tian Guangjin asked in astonishment, his other ear perked up, listening intently for any sound from the wardrobe.
However, the wardrobe remained perfectly silent.
Zhang Bin’s voice came from the phone again, "I’m sleeping on the lawn at the Martial Arts Plaza."
"Ah... I’m so sorry, so sorry. Everyone was drunk last night. There are still more than a dozen people passed out on the hall floor right now," Tian Guangjin said apologetically.
Meanwhile, Tian Bingbing stood there, completely dumbfounded. What is going on? Zhang Bin is obviously hiding in the wardrobe, so how could he possibly make a phone call without a single sound?
She didn’t have time to dwell on it, however, and quickly put on a wronged expression.
Soon, Tian Guangjin hung up the phone and said apologetically, "Bingbing, I’m sorry. It was Dad’s fault. I misjudged you."
"It’s alright. Seeing as you were muddled by a hangover, I’ll forgive you. You should go take care of Xiao Bin. He slept on the grass all night," Tian Bingbing said.
"But I clearly remember you carrying him toward the guest room. How did he end up on the grass?" Tian Guangjin asked, puzzled.
"I was drunk last night, too. I think he fell off my back before we even got to the guest room. He woke up, said he wanted to go home, and just staggered off. I couldn’t stop him," Tian Bingbing said, touching her forehead as if trying to recall the memory.
"I see." A radiant smile broke out on Tian Guangjin’s face, and he strode out of the room.
"That was too close," Zhang Bin whispered, slumping inside the wardrobe, completely soaked in sweat.
Tian Bingbing quickly pulled the wardrobe door open. Her eyes widened as she stared at Zhang Bin collapsed inside. "Xiao Bin, how did you do that?" she asked curiously.
"It’s a special Secret Technique from my master’s school," Zhang Bin said evasively.
Tian Bingbing actually believed him. She patted her ample chest and said with a look of lingering fear, "Xiao Bin, thank goodness you have such a magical Secret Technique to hide the sound of a phone call. Otherwise, we would have been in deep trouble. My dad definitely would have wanted to kill you."
"Heh... it’s not easy being the de facto son-in-law," Zhang Bin said, wiping the cold sweat from his brow as he climbed out of the wardrobe.
"Who let you be such a playboy? That day at the martial arts school, you said you had two girlfriends, but as far as I know, you have three! Xiao Fang, Liu Ruolan, and Liu Ruomei!" Tian Bingbing chided playfully. "So if my dad mistakenly thought you spent the night in my room, of course he’d be furious!"
"It’s all a misunderstanding. Where would I get so many girlfriends? To other people, you’re my girlfriend too, but you and I both know we just slept in the same bed for one night. Nothing happened," Zhang Bin said.
"Alright, alright, stop talking. I trust your character. You should leave quickly. If my dad can’t find you at the Training Ground and comes back, we’ll be in big trouble," Tian Bingbing said, pushing Zhang Bin out the door.
What a night. I can’t tell if it was wonderful or painful. Why did I have to wake up so late? Regret was written all over Zhang Bin’s face. He quickly ducked into the restroom, relieved himself, and then strolled out leisurely.
He ran right into Tian Guangjin, who hadn’t been able to find him at the Training Ground and had come to the restroom to look.
"I’m so sorry, Xiao Bin. I really put you out this time..." Tian Guangjin’s face was filled with guilt.
It wasn’t just because Zhang Bin had slept on the grass all night. He had also wronged the young man, first by suspecting he’d spent the night in Bingbing’s room, and then by thinking he was hiding in the wardrobe. Zhang Bin had done so much for the martial arts school and had even used a Secret Technique to improve Bingbing’s sword techniques, yet he had doubted Zhang Bin’s character. I’m no better than an animal!
"What’s there to feel bad about? Everyone was drunk last night," Zhang Bin said. "But that was a great time. I was so happy, I just wish the night could have been a little longer..."
"Pfft..." Tian Bingbing, who had just walked out, let out a delicate laugh. She knew exactly what Zhang Bin meant—that he wanted to hold her and sleep a little longer. He was truly a roguish but upright gentleman.
"Hahaha..." Tian Guangjin, completely oblivious to the double entendre, laughed heartily. As long as Zhang Bin was happy, everything was fine.
Tian Guangjin didn’t stay at the martial arts school much longer; as an army instructor, he had to leave. Before he left, Zhang Bin took the opportunity to invite him to his upcoming housewarming party, and Tian Guangjin readily accepted.
Once Tian Guangjin was gone, Zhang Bin let out a long, quiet sigh of relief.
Tian Bingbing did the same.
Then the two of them looked at each other, and a faint blush crept onto their faces. They had slept in each other’s arms all night. Thinking back on it now was still very awkward.
"Actually, I didn’t get enough sleep. How about we go back to bed for a while?" Zhang Bin asked hopefully.
Tian Bingbing was easily embarrassed. "Don’t you dare mention last night again, or I’ll get angry," she protested coquettishly.
"Okay, okay, I won’t mention it, I won’t mention it," Zhang Bin laughed and started walking outside. "Come on, let’s go get some breakfast."
Tian Bingbing shot him a playful look. "Have you washed your face? Brushed your teeth?"
"I’m starving. It doesn’t matter," Zhang Bin said.
"Go wash up." Tian Bingbing pulled him back, dragged him into her room, and found a new towel and a new toothbrush for him.
She’s so bossy, just like a real girlfriend, Zhang Bin grumbled to himself as he walked into the bathroom.
Tian Bingbing, however, was staring at the bed in a daze, a shy blush coloring her pretty cheeks.
Never in her wildest dreams had she imagined she would share a bed with Zhang Bin for an entire night. After all, besides her father, no other man had ever set foot in her room.
