Miracle Farmer with Special Abilities
Chapter 38 - 0038: Broke a Leg_1
CHAPTER 38: CHAPTER 0038: BROKE A LEG_1
After the meal, Zhang Bin and a dozen or so beauties walked out of the hotel’s main entrance.
"Zhang Bin, wait here for a bit. My sister will be here soon to take you driving," Liu Ruolan said. "Liu Xin, Shan Shan, and I are going to buy a car in the company’s name."
"Mm-hmm." Zhang Bin nodded. Liu Ruolan’s arrangements were always the most efficient.
And he was starting to miss that beauty, Liu Ruomei. After all, he had ’ridden’ her once.
"That’s the guy! Brother Hu, beat him up good for me. Break one of his legs. Breaking his third leg would be even better," Yu Qingsheng hissed from his hiding spot in an alley. He saw that Zhang Bin had been left alone; the bevy of beauties was starting to leave, but Zhang Bin remained standing motionless by the door. He immediately gave the order to the thugs he had summoned.
One hundred thousand yuan to beat someone up? That’s a great deal.
The thugs were practically buzzing with excitement. They pulled out their iron clubs and surged from the alley like a flash flood, charging at Zhang Bin with murderous intent.
They were old hands at this. Breaking a man’s leg would only take a moment. Plus, they had their escape route planned, so nothing could go wrong.
"Xiao Bin, watch out!"
Liu Xin happened to turn back and caught sight of the scene. Her face paled in terror as she cried out in alarm.
Liu Ruolan, Wen Shanshan, and the other beauties whipped around to look, and they too were frozen in shock.
Alerted by the shout, Zhang Bin turned. A look of disdain crossed his face. A ragtag bunch dares to ambush me? They’re simply courting death.
Watching from the alley, Yu Qingsheng’s face twisted into a cruel smile, his eyes glinting with malice and glee. Zhang Bin, let’s see you get out of this one.
In the blink of an eye, the first thug reached Zhang Bin. However, his raised iron club never came down. Instead, he suddenly dropped to his knees with a THUD, shouting respectfully, "Greetings, Brother Bin!"
All the other thugs were stunned. What is happening? Weren’t we supposed to break this guy’s leg? Why did our boss just kneel and call him Brother Bin?
The clubs they held high were quickly lowered and hidden back in their sleeves. Then, with a series of thuds, they all dropped to their knees.
They had no choice. Since their boss was kneeling, they, his underlings, naturally had to kneel with even greater reverence.
The scene was nothing short of spectacular.
Liu Xin was dumbfounded.
Liu Ruolan, Wen Shanshan, and the rest of the beauties were equally astonished.
The passersby on the street stared at Zhang Bin as if he were some kind of monster.
Yu Qingsheng’s eye orbs, however, nearly popped out of his head. His face turned deathly pale, his mind reeling with confusion. Zhang Bin is just a little farmer. How could he make so many vicious thugs kneel before him? How is this possible?
Zhang Bin himself didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. I was all set to go on a rampage, to beat these thugs until they fled in disgrace and put on a good show. But they all knelt instead. This isn’t how the script was supposed to go, is it?
His gaze fell upon the face of the head thug. The man was about 1.9 meters tall and built like a bear, but he was easy to recognize. It was none other than Wang Hu, the same man Zhang Bin had taught a lesson to back in Sanchahe Village. What a coincidence to run into him here.
"Wang Hu," Zhang Bin’s eyes narrowed, shooting out a light as sharp as a sabre, "what exactly were you trying to do just now?"
"Reporting to Brother Bin," Wang Hu said respectfully from his kneeling position, "some bastard offered one hundred thousand yuan for us to break your leg. His name is Yu Qingsheng. Do you two have a feud?"
He had personally witnessed Zhang Bin’s terrifying power and knew this was someone not to be trifled with, so he sold out Yu Qingsheng without a second thought.
Zhang Bin, impressed by Wang Hu’s ability to adapt to the situation, didn’t give him a hard time. He said coolly, "So that’s how it is."
"Brother Bin, rest assured, I’ll take care of that bastard. I’ll break his leg for you," Wang Hu said ingratiatingly.
Hearing this, Yu Qingsheng collapsed to the ground, trembling uncontrollably. Who on earth is this little farmer? How could he make the proud and ruthless Wang Hu so fearful? So much so that he’d turn around and offer to break my leg?
Just as Zhang Bin was about to speak, a police car came barreling over with an aggressive air, screeching to a halt beside him. Out stepped a stunningly beautiful policewoman—it was none other than Liu Ruomei.
"Sister Mei, you look absolutely gorgeous," Zhang Bin said, his admiring gaze fixed on the heroic policewoman.
"Save the flattery. I haven’t forgiven you yet," Liu Ruomei said, then fixed her glare on Wang Hu. "Wang Hu, are you causing trouble again?"
The Ice Queen Liu Ruomei is on good terms with Zhang Bin. Are they a couple? Or relatives? Good thing I wasn’t reckless today, or I’d be dead meat. Wang Hu felt a renewed wave of fear and quickly pleaded his innocence. "We were just here to pay our respects to Brother Bin! We weren’t causing any trouble."
Then, he and his thugs beat a hasty retreat.
Later that night, Yu Qingsheng did indeed have his leg broken by someone, but that was something Zhang Bin would never know.
Seeing that Zhang Bin was unharmed and, in fact, looked quite imposing, Liu Ruolan, Liu Xin, and the others decided there was no need to go back.
Zhang Bin got into Liu Ruomei’s car.
Liu Ruomei took him to a driving school and had an instructor, Coach He, teach him how to drive. She gave Zhang Bin the cold shoulder, her expression icy, clearly still angry with him.
"Sister Mei, does your family own this driving school?" Zhang Bin asked curiously.
"No," Liu Ruomei shot him a look. "Pay attention. You have three days at most to practice before the practical test. The theory test is the day after tomorrow. You’d better not sleep for the next few days."
"I only need one practice session," Zhang Bin said. "As for the theory test, just give me the book. I’ll pass with a perfect score the day after tomorrow, naturally."
"You, an academic underachiever, have the nerve to brag like that? Do you think I’m going to help you cheat?" Liu Ruomei said playfully. "Just practice properly and study hard like you’re told."
Zhang Bin didn’t argue further. He turned to Coach He, who was still standing respectfully before him. "Coach, just take me through all the items once."
"W-Well... alright." Since Coach He assumed Zhang Bin was some important figure, how could he object? He agreed and began the driving demonstration with Zhang Bin.
Practice once? I can’t wait to see you eat your words. Liu Ruomei had been about to leave, but now she decided to stay. She watched from the side with a mocking expression, eager to see Zhang Bin make a fool of himself.
Soon, Coach He demonstrated all the maneuvers himself: reversing into a spot, parking, crossing the Single-log Bridge, weaving around the iron discs, and stopping and starting on an incline.
"Let me try it once. Tell me if you see any problems," Zhang Bin said after the demonstration. Under Liu Ruomei’s mocking gaze, he sat down in the driver’s seat. He then leaned his head out and taunted, "Sister Mei, how about a bet? If I do everything perfectly with no problems, you give me a kiss. If not, you can punch me."
