Ava kicked again in a frenzy, quickly demolishing the door until a huge opening was formed.

"Let's go. We're going in," Jack said with a sinister smile. "We must catch him. Then we'll kill him."

The Biotech Base was extremely important to America, so naturally, they couldn't allow anyone without authority to enter. Their entire reason for being stationed in Las Vegas was to guard this base. The fact that Zhang Bin had somehow mysteriously gotten inside shocked and alarmed them greatly.

If Zhang Bin were to cause destruction inside, the losses would be catastrophic. What worried them most was that he seemed very familiar with the Biotech Base, suggesting he might have entered it multiple times before. For that reason, they had to get inside and capture him, no matter the cost.

So, they quickly squeezed through the opening, remaining highly vigilant. They knew the base was dangerous, filled with countless traps and terrifying mechanical puppets.

Over the long years, most of the mechanical puppets had surely been damaged, but some remained operational and capable of launching devastating attacks.

To their surprise, the base wasn't dark but brightly lit. Light emanated from special fixtures in the walls, illuminating the area brilliantly. It was as bright as day.

Then, they all sneered simultaneously, for they had spotted Zhang Bin. At that very moment, he was surrounded by eight mechanical monsters.

These eight mechanical monsters were peculiar: they were two-meter-tall mechanical spiders. Their bodies were covered with dense cavities from which a red light emanated—clearly, these were formidable Thermal Weapons.

If the spiders attacked, Zhang Bin would undoubtedly die.

So, Zhang Bin raised his hands high and let out a terrified shout, "I surrender! I surrender, don't kill me!"

The mechanical spiders were also bizarre; seeing Zhang Bin's display, they didn't attack, merely continuing to encircle him.

"Hahaha!" Jack laughed loudly. "You bastard, thought you were so tough? Go on, try running now!"

A female Genetically Enhanced Human, her face contorted with violent rage, screamed maniacally, "I want to eat him! I love the taste of men's flesh!"

Another Genetically Enhanced Human sneered and roared, drool leaking from his mouth, "Captain, kill him quickly! We're starving!"

"You bastards!" Jack roared. "Didn't I tell you to keep your cannibalism a secret?"

"Captain, this is an underground base; no one can get in," the drooling Genetically Enhanced Human argued. "And this is an undeveloped area. Absolutely no one can hear us. As for this guy, he entered the base, so he must be executed. Just let us have a hearty meal."

Hearing this conversation, Zhang Bin felt a chilling dread. It wasn't because he was in a desperate situation, but because it confirmed Gao Si's warning about the grave problems that would arise with Genetically Enhanced Humans.

He had been hoping that the Gene Enhancement Technology within this base was miraculous, completely without flaws. That would explain why America hadn't yet experienced a crisis or disaster involving the Genetically Enhanced Humans. It was why he had helped the Special Action Team, allowing them to enter the underground base so easily.

But now, hearing the exchange between these Genetically Enhanced Humans, he realized how naive he had been, how overly idealistic his beliefs were.

This base did not possess a perfect, flawless Gene Enhancement Technology.

All the Genetically Enhanced Humans erupted in maniacal laughter. Their eyes transformed, becoming extraordinarily malevolent and coldly ruthless.

A bizarre aura erupted from them, making the very air tremble. It was the aura of a wild beast, of an apex predator. No, they were even more ferocious and vile than wild beasts. They could only be described as demons. Perhaps they were true demons, of humanity's own making.

"What are you laughing at? Am I wrong?" Zhang Bin said angrily.

"Kid, let me tell you the truth," Jack said with a sneer. "We Genetically Enhanced Humans are the true superior beings. You ordinary humans are no different from cattle or sheep. Eating your flesh makes us stronger, and drinking your blood lets us live longer. So, in our eyes, you humans are just food—the most delicious food.

"We've kept this a secret because our numbers are still too small. We need humanity to mass-produce more of our kind. We also need time to seize power and create a beautiful world that belongs to us, the Genetically Enhanced Humans."

"And that beautiful world will be like this," Ava added, an expectant smile spreading across her face. "We will be the masters of Earth. Humans will be the food we raise in captivity, and the tools for us to vent our desires. The only meaning to your existence will be to serve us Genetically Enhanced Humans. Everything you have—your wealth, your bodies—it will all belong to us."
