CHAPTER 72: CHAPTER 0072: BROTHER BIN’S TACTICS_1
Seeing Zhang Bin frown, Zuo Haonan became even more arrogant.
"HAHAHA..." he burst out laughing. "Zhang Bin, you are indeed very strong, and I am no match for you. But do you dare oppose the Daoyi Sect? The Daoyi Sect has Golden Core Realm masters presiding over it; killing you would be as easy as crushing an ant."
"Zhang Bin, if you have no evidence, don’t talk nonsense, or you might lose your life."
"Zhang Bin, the filth-throwing incident at Wenwu Pharma was definitely not our doing. However, if you’re willing to pay a little compensation, we’ll have people patrol day and night, and this kind of thing won’t happen again."
"Paying a little compensation is just a drop in the bucket for you. Don’t your daily sales of Bright Eye Liquid run into the several millions?"
"..."
The Four Guardians also chimed in, their goal obviously being to make Zhang Bin hand over protection money voluntarily.
"Are you all finished? If so, I’m going to cripple your cultivation," Zhang Bin said, raising his bamboo sword as a bone-chilling killing intent erupted from him.
He had no reason to show mercy to such scum.
"Aren’t you afraid the Daoyi Sect will come after you?" Zuo Haonan sensed that things were taking a bad turn. It seemed Zhang Bin was a reckless fool who feared nothing.
"I have evidence against you all, so the Daoyi Sect won’t stand up for you. You deserve to die," Zhang Bin sneered. He pressed a button on his phone, and it began to play a recording—loud and clear, it was their entire previous conversation.
Zuo Haonan and the Four Guardians were dumbstruck, disbelief written all over their faces.
"Did you install a camera here?" Zuo Haonan demanded angrily.
"So what if I did?" Zhang Bin retorted coldly. "I have all the evidence of you throwing filth, including video footage. By opposing me, you were just seeking death."
"Get him! Kill him!" Zuo Haonan shouted frantically, unwilling to have his cultivation crippled by Zhang Bin.
"Kill, kill, kill, kill..." The Four Guardians drew their daggers and rushed forward.
From a door behind them, more than a dozen burly men charged out, all wielding gleaming cleaving knives as they swarmed toward Zhang Bin. They could see clearly that Zhang Bin only carried a bamboo sword. How could he possibly defend against their steel blades and daggers? They were a hundred percent confident they could kill him right there, dispose of the body, and erase all traces of the incident.
"Stop! Police!"
Just then, Liu Ruomei, dressed in a police uniform, rushed in, yelling with fierce intensity.
The night before, she had been splashed with filth by hooligans. Furious, she had tracked them down to Zuo Haonan’s lair, hoping to uncover some secrets and find evidence. She had never expected to stumble upon such a tense scene. Worried Zhang Bin would be hacked to death by the thugs, she had no choice but to reveal herself. Unfortunately, she wasn’t carrying her handgun; even as a special police officer, she couldn’t carry a weapon when off-duty.
The group of thugs hesitated.
But Zuo Haonan viciously commanded, "Kill them both!" He was cornered. Now that Zhang Bin had evidence, his only option was to kill them and flee Nanshan County.
"Kill, kill, kill..." The thugs roared, resuming their frenzied charge.
"Xiao Bin, run!" Liu Ruomei screamed, terrified out of her wits.
Zhang Bin, however, let out an excited, eerie chuckle and strode forward, his bamboo sword striking out like lightning.
PHUT, PHUT, PHUT...
A rapid succession of soft sounds echoed as the wrists of all the thugs were pierced and the dantians in their lower abdomens were punctured.
"AHHHH..." They all let out bloodcurdling screams of agony.
The cleaving knives and daggers in their hands clattered to the ground. Blood spurted into the air, a strangely grotesque sight.
Even the formidable Zuo Haonan suffered the same fate. His wrist was pierced, his dantian was ruptured, his True Qi dissipated, and his cultivation was destroyed.
Yet Zhang Bin stood completely unharmed. Not a single drop of blood had splattered on his white clothes, which were as pristine as if they were brand new.
Liu Ruomei’s eyes widened, her face a canvas of shock. How is this possible? How can it be?
She knew better than anyone that Zuo Haonan’s men practiced Inner Family Kung Fu. Most were at the Late Body Refinement Stage, with a few at the Early Qi Cultivation Stage. Zuo Haonan himself was at the Late Qi Cultivation Stage. For so many of them, all armed with sharp cleaving knives and daggers, to be defeated by Zhang Bin wielding only a bamboo sword was utterly unbelievable. It completely shattered her understanding of the world.
For the first time, she truly recognized how strong Zhang Bin was—stronger than the vast majority of experts she had ever seen. At the very least, she had never seen anyone strike with a sword faster than him.
"Zhang Bin, you’re so vicious! How could you destroy our cultivation?" Zuo Haonan shouted resentfully, clutching his right hand.
"Am I as vicious as you? Weren’t you just trying to kill us both?" Zhang Bin retorted. "Now do you see my mercy?"
"You..." Zuo Haonan was so enraged he was speechless.
"I can’t be bothered to speak with a fool like you."
After his flat statement, Zhang Bin turned to leave, grabbing Liu Ruomei’s hand in one swift motion and forcefully pulling her out.
"Let me go! I have to arrest them all. They should be punished by the law!" Liu Ruomei struggled.
"Punished? They’ll get locked up for a few days or a few years, then get out and continue their evil ways," Zhang Bin said coldly. "Isn’t it better to let them fend for themselves?"
"Fend for themselves? What do you mean?" Liu Ruomei asked curiously, clearly catching his underlying meaning.
"It means we ignore them," Zhang Bin said, unwilling to elaborate. He quickly changed the subject with a wicked smile. "Sister Mei, I’ve avenged you. How are you going to reward me?"
"Hmph... I’ve been worrying sick over your company’s affairs. You should be the one rewarding me," Liu Ruomei pouted.
Bantering, the two of them quickly left the alley.
However, about five minutes after Zhang Bin and Liu Ruomei departed, another group of burly men, armed with cleaving knives and daggers, came barging in. Their leader was a large man with only one eye. He was Du Yelang, another underworld boss and a mortal enemy of Zuo Haonan.
He had just received a text message informing him that Zuo Haonan’s cultivation had been destroyed. He immediately rushed over, arriving just in time to block Zuo Haonan and his men as they were trying to escape.
"One-Eyed Wolf, what do you think you’re doing?" Zuo Haonan shouted in fury and despair.
"Sending you on your way, of course," the One-Eyed Wolf bellowed. "Kill them!"
「The next day.」
Zuo Haonan was never seen again. He and his powerful subordinates vanished completely.
Du Yelang’s territory naturally expanded greatly, but he never dared to cause trouble for the Wenwu Company. He knew that while the text message couldn’t be traced, it was certainly connected to Zhang Bin. He didn’t dare provoke someone like Zhang Bin, who possessed not only a terrifying cultivation level but also a sharp mind.
Unless he wanted to follow in Zuo Haonan’s footsteps.
