CHAPTER 58: THREE SUPREME TECHNIQUES AT ONCE!

Glowing hands hovered behind Oldrich’s shoulders, as if someone invisible stood on his back.

"You humans wouldn’t know this technique. I’ll give you a hint — my attacks cannot be deflected."

The girls hesitated. Should they strike first or wait for him to make the move?

Aimer wanted to tell Ash, but doubted herself. In the end, Ash turned and gave her a quick nod.

Even without discussing a plan, they both already knew what to do.

And then — silence fell over the room.

Oldrich lunged forward with a wide swing!

The girls instantly conjured multilayered barriers and leapt backward.

In a split second, Aimer saw it: the glowing hands behind Oldrich twitched, the sword shifted grip — and her barrier shattered.

She realized that the enemy’s Mado-technique — that glowing spirit — had struck. But the strike itself was invisible to the naked eye.

Oldrich smirked, seeing the shock in Aimer’s eyes.

"Impressive. You figured it out so quickly. Scorching Wanderer attacks and defends me from every direction. Its speed exceeds that of light itself. Which is why it cannot be blocked."

’But what kind of magic or technique allows for something like that...?’ Aimer thought.

Oldrich charged again. Right after his first swing, came a second — the strike from the technique. It felt like they were fighting two enemies at once.

The swing from Scorching Wanderer missed Ash, but they noticed something — the Black Fire didn’t react in time to protect her.

Oldrich burst into laughter.

"Well, what do you know! I’ve found the weakness of your passive ability. Fire can’t shield you from attacks this fast — it doesn’t even have time to form!"

But Scorching Wanderer had a weakness, too — it could only strike within the radius of the giant sword’s reach.

The girls split apart, leaping in opposite directions. Their hands began to glow.

WHOOSH!

They conjured fireballs in the air, hovering in place — waiting for him to advance.

"Hmph."

Oldrich rushed at Aimer — she was the weaker of the two.

Ash immediately sprinted behind him, leaving the floating fireballs untouched.

Oldrich tightened his grip on the sword.

FWASH!

He vanished — not with speed, but as if he were erased from existence. Aimer flinched.

"He’s—!"

CRACK!!

The ground beneath her exploded as Oldrich emerged, swinging upward. Aimer barely survived because of her multilayered barriers. The edge of her shirt slicing open as wind pressure tore past.

Ash instantly responded, clapping her hands together — a fireblast burst forward!

BOOM!

It struck Oldrich in the chest, but he absorbed it with his blade. The glowing hands of Scorching Wanderer lashed out again, nearly catching Ash across the ribs. She fell back, using Black fire as a barrier.

An then—

Oldrich’s attack broke through the Black fire!

"He’s not giving us room to breathe..."

Oldrich stepped forward slowly, each motion deliberate, predatory.

"I can see the fear in your eyes," he growled. "Your little tricks are cute. But this... is the difference between warriors and girls playing hero!"

"Fireshot!"

PAH! PAH! PAH!

Ash pointed her fingers and fired thin streaks of light — like lasers piercing the air.

’I can’t let him get to Aimer!’ Ash thought.

"What an annoying little fly! How long are you gonna keep snapping your fingers like a circus freak?!"

And just as Oldrich swung mid-air at Ash—

Aimer conjured an orb of energy in her hands!

"Ray of Light!"

BOOOOM!!

A devastating beam blasted toward him. Oldrich remained inside it — unable to dodge.

"..."

"What the hell is this?!"

Oldrich absorbed the full beam with his sword!

’Ray of Light... is being reflected by his sword?!’

No time to think! While Aimer holds him back, Ash needs to move.

FWOOOSH!

Aimer unleashed dragon-breath-like flames from her hands. When the beam finally ceased, Oldrich stood exposed — his kimono entirely scorched.

Aimer dashed around him, launching sharp crystal shards. Ash rushed toward the floating fireballs.

’We just need one chance. One strike. Damn it, please let this work...’ Ash thought.

She touched the fireballs. Darkness wrapped around them, doubling their size.

’A brilliant strategy,’ Oldrich mused. ’The brats intend to finish me with a single blow. Darkness, when fused with any energy, doubles its power. Hah — I didn’t even hear them discuss their plan!’

"Here we go."

Ash leapt high into the air. Black fire surged upward, lifting her above Oldrich. She held two fingers before her eyes.

"Supreme Darkness!"

Down below, Aimer backed away and crouched low. She pressed two fingers together on each hand.

"Supreme Magicka!"

...

Oldrich didn’t move. He smirked wide, awaiting their attack.

"Sky-Devouring Angel!"

From Ash’s fingers erupted a colossal wave of black fire, engulfing the very ground where Oldrich stood. Black fire — the one force that could neither be reflected nor absorbed. That was why the Undead had once dominated the world.

"Absolute Collapse!"

The nature of Aimer’s technique — to compress all space into a single point. She fused it with Ash’s black fire, forcing the entirety of the flames into one singularity — aimed directly at Oldrich.

And as Sky-Devouring Angel came to an end, Absolute Collapse folded the entire battlefield inward — consuming everything around their enemy.

...

Ashes and smoke filled the air, clouding the area. The girls watched with awe and dread.

Soon, the smoke began to clear.

And through it... Oldrich emerged — wounded, bloody, but still walking. That same wicked grin on his face.

"...Is he unkillable?"

Ash scoffed.

"Hey, old man. Black fire can’t be reflected or absorbed. Don’t tell me your sword can handle that too!"

Oldrich chuckled.

"Indeed, my Sturmernter is still active."

His sword glowed with pure white energy.

"But that’s not why you couldn’t kill me. You impressed me. It’s been ages since I’ve seen techniques that could turn me to ashes. You girls... you’re truly strong."

Oldrich was genuinely inspired by their coordination and willpower — even against a foe like him.

’These girls... they’ve been fighting with such resolve all this time, even under the weight of my Hysteria...’

Suddenly, the world around them began to unravel, rising into the sky. All turned to light — and vanished.

Aimer felt the crushing presence of the sixth Onmyoji finally fade away.

’Sylas... Tyrion... guys... Please, be alive.’
