CHAPTER 68: KISS ME, WIFE

"What kind of entertainment?" Sara asked out of curiosity.

"You’ll find out in the evening," Luca replied smoothly. His finger slowly traced the delicate outline of her face, following her cheekbone down to her jaw.

She grasped his hand instantly, halting his movement with a sharp glare in her eyes. "Tell me or I’m not taking you to my father’s home tonight."

Luca leaned in close. His lips almost brushed her earlobe, the sudden proximity enough to make her heart race wildly against her ribs. His hot breath blew gently over her ear. "You don’t need to be too close to me," she murmured, struggling to maintain her composure.

"You’re supposed to make it entertaining. I will only help you," he finally whispered, the promise laced with dark intention.

He moved back just as the doors of the elevator opened. "Why are your cheeks red?" Luca asked, knitting his brows together in mock curiosity.

Sara ignored him, quickly exiting the elevator to breathe the slightly cooler air of the lobby. Her senses felt scrambled; she had almost lost control when Luca moved so close to her ear. The scent of his cologne was still messing with her mind.

Ever since the revelation of his feelings had come to light, Sara felt her heart was weakening once again. Though she had resolved to not be infatuated by him, applying that resolve when he was within touching distance was proving nearly impossible.

Finally, she was outside at the front entrance where a car was waiting. Luca walked past her and smoothly opened the passenger door.

"Get in," he said simply.

"Aren’t we going to take the driver?" she inquired.

"No. I’ll drive," Luca stated.

She quietly moved to the passenger’s seat while Luca shut her door lightly, before walking around and entering the car from his own side. He started the engine after making sure Sara had fastened the seatbelt.

"Where does Asher live?" Luca asked, his eyes scanning the road.

Sara leaned toward the GPS device installed at the center console and quickly entered the address. She sat back, crossing her arms.

"Did you used to go to his home often? Like when you both were together?" Luca continued.

"Yeah," Sara replied. "I’m not answering any more personal questions about my past," she clarified to him, staring straight ahead.

Luca’s cheerful expression vanished instantly. "Why? Do you think I will again beat up Asher?" he asked, a hard edge returning to his voice.

She tilted her head to study his suddenly tense profile. "You won’t do that," she said.

"Don’t challenge me, Sara. Besides, you just told me to do whatever I want," Luca reminded her, quoting her own angry words from the morning.

"My mood is ruined ever since my argument with Diego. So, don’t heat me up," she snapped, her frustration boiling over. "And the past is past for a reason. If you truly loved me back then, you would have jumped in to rescue me. You wouldn’t have let me date Asher. But you simply enjoyed my condition, waiting for the perfect moment to step in."

"Hey, I didn’t know. Okay? And I told you I couldn’t approach you after what happened between us," Luca explained, his tone turning a bit lighter.

Sara didn’t say anything and waited for Asher’s home to arrive fast. Finally, that wait ended and they arrived at Asher’s house.

The security opened the gates for them as they recognized Sara. Luca pulled the car in the driveway and exited from his own side. He came to Sara’s side and held her hand possesively.

She didn’t protest and walked inside with Luca.

The house butler greeted them at the door and said, "Please wait here. I will call the young master."

Both of them settled onto the plush couch in the formal sitting room.

"Don’t run your mouth when I’ll be speaking," Sara warned him, keeping her voice low.

"For that, you have to kiss me. Then only I will keep my mouth shut," Luca grinned, completely unconcerned by the surroundings.

"No. I’m not kissing you, and you won’t utter a single word," Sara retorted, pointing her finger directly at him, facing him fully across the cushions.

Luca leaned closer and grasped her finger, his thumb rubbing across her skin. "I will utter whatever I desire," he asserted. "So, if you want me to stay quiet like an obedient husband, then kiss me, wife."

Sara shut her eyes tightly, swallowing her anger. She knew Luca wouldn’t listen to her unless she did what he desired. Not wasting another second on arguing, she leaned forward and softly kissed him. As she was about to pull away, Luca’s free hand moved quickly to the back of her head, jamming her face right in front of his.

"Luca, leave—" the remaining words ceased in her mouth as he began to nibble on her lips. His other hand moved to her lower back, pulling her tightly against him on the couch. Sara initially maintained her stiff resistance, but it broke slowly, and she soon found herself willingly parting her lips, kissing him back with a sudden passion.

Realizing they were in Asher’s house, Sara pressed her hands firmly against his chest, wanting him to stop. Luca reluctantly pulled away though his hunger hadn’t vanished. He wanted to savor her, but Sara wasn’t giving him any chance for it.

"Now, stay quiet," she whispered, not meeting his gaze. She gave time to her heart to stabilize while fidgeting with her fingers.

Luca simply watched her expression and smiled slowly. ’What am I supposed to do? I didn’t know Sara would be this strong headed when it comes to intimacy. Did she ever get intimate–’ he shook his head as he brought a halt to his thoughts. No one could have touched Sara, not even Asher. She hadn’t allowed him. But then, they were in love once.

’Fuck! I should not have let them dated. What have I been doing all this time?’ Luca thought.
