Mistakenly Yours: Contract Marriage With The Billionaire
Chapter 83: Renounce the name Falcone
CHAPTER 83: RENOUNCE THE NAME FALCONE
Sara took some deep breaths as she settled into the driver’s seat of the car. "How could Dad blame me for everything? He expected me to embrace his second wife and her kids. I tried. I trusted Frida, my stepsister. But what did I get in return? Only betrayal."
She was lost in her thoughts when a loud tap occurred on the window. Sara tilted her head and saw Diego standing outside.
She turned on the engine, ready to leave, but he opened the door and quickly switched it off.
"Give me the keys back!" Sara demanded. "I won’t save you, Diego. You should clean up your own mess."
"Sis, don’t be like this. My life will end. Have you never felt sorry for me? Everything I have done since childhood is to compete against you. I always wanted to be praised. If a mother was absent from your life, for me it was a father."
"Don’t start your emotional manipulation on me. If you truly want my help, then give me the keys back," she said sternly, extending her hand.
Reluctant, Diego put the keys on her palm. She turned on her heels, ready to get in.
"I enjoyed your downfall. But I didn’t plan anything. You should know this," Diego said.
"I don’t believe a single word coming out of your mouth," Sara stated and got into the car. Without wasting another second, she drove off from there.
Frida walked to her brother and said, "I can’t believe you practically begged Sara to consider pleading for you in front of Luca."
"Stay quiet, Frida," Diego said, gritting his teeth.
"Why should I? I’m giving you a reality check. Dad never wanted us. Didn’t you find what he said ridiculous? He still trusts Sara. He considers you nothing, Brother. And why did you even steal money like that?" Frida questioned him.
Diego turned to look at his younger sister.
"I made a mistake. I didn’t see it coming. Consider yourself lucky because I won’t be taking your name when an inquiry will be set up. You are the one who took Sara’s signatures, aren’t you? You chose Asher, the perfect bait for it."
"I did it for us," Frida said.
"You should start thinking then how to get yourself safe. Luca will catch you too. Sara is definitely my only hope who can save me from getting a severe punishment," Diego asserted before walking away.

Luca kept looking at his phone as the presentation was being flashed from the projector. He was hoping for any call or message from Sara, but none came.
’Did she forget she has a husband?’ Luca thought.
The employees in the boardroom gazed at him repeatedly, seeing how absent he looked today.
Fabio cleared his throat and leaned his chair a little closer to Luca. "Sir, everyone is watching you."
"Let’s do the presentation tomorrow," Luca announced and stood up from the chair, causing the rest of the employees to leave their seats as well. As he walked through the empty lobby to his office, he opened Sara’s contact, ready to call her.
"Luca, can we talk?"
He heard a familiar voice and turned around. Diego was standing in front of him, and a frown appeared on Luca’s forehead.
"What are you doing here? You were supposed to come to the company your father once possessed, not here," Luca stated. He wondered where Sara was since Diego showed up.
"Please forgive me this time," Diego requested.
Fabio slowed his steps as he saw Luca and Diego together.
"Did Sara refuse to help you?" Luca arched an eyebrow in amusement.
"Well, yes. She hates me," Diego stated. "But if I get a punishment today, then Dad and her relationship will be over too. The Falcone Family will come to ruins. Dad will always blame Sara for not saving her stepbrother and thinking of the family. That was what was discussed at home. Maybe Sara will show everyone she is fine, but internally, she will always be upset for not bending to Father’s request."
"Show him the way out," Luca instructed Fabio, ready to walk away.
"Sara will lose her family. Think about her, not me. You can ban me from working anywhere or maybe let me work here as a random assistant. I won’t complain. Just don’t set up an inquiry against me. I have already pulled back the charge sheet that was passed by our former board members in Falcone Industries against Sara. They were adamant about filing charges against her," Diego stated and raised his left hand, showing them the document he had brought with him.
Fabio took it from him and showed it to Luca, who read a few words from it.
"I have no intention to forgive you, Diego. But I can do this if you tell me who forged Sara’s signatures," Luca stated. "Was it your sister, Frida? I heard she used her boyfriend for it. Tell me the truth, and I’ll save you from going to prison. Choose yourself or your sister," he added.
Diego turned tight-lipped. He couldn’t name Frida because that would be the end for all three of them.
Seeing how silent he turned, Luca said, "That’s wonderful. You’re loyal to your little sister, at least."
Diego’s throat tightened with humiliation. He never had to beg before, but swallowing his pride, he did it. However, no solution had come out of it.
"Diego, let me advise you something," Luca said, stepping a little closer to him. "If you choose right, you save yourself from a prison term. However, if you choose wrong, you’ll shut the door of improvement for yourself."
Diego didn’t say anything and simply turned around to leave this time. He would accept his fate. But his eyes landed on Sara, who had just stopped walking.
"Sara!" Luca’s eyes lit up seeing his wife. But he didn’t walk to her. Instead, he wanted her to walk to him.
"Diego, we can’t become a good family. We were always broken. Tell this to our father. And tell him that I renounce the name Falcone. I have nothing to do with any of you," Sara stated.
Luca furrowed his brows together, wondering what exactly happened between her and her family.
