In Y Country, Melody Parker, who had suddenly disappeared from a restaurant in Fland, slowly opened her eyes and woke up from her coma.

A dignified elderly man stood in front of her.

Seeing her awake, the old man coldly asked, "Awake?"

Melody rubbed her sore neck and looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings, not answering the old man’s question, but instead asked, "Who are you?"

The elderly man, appearing around fifty, with graying hair, stood there sternly, "I am Alston’s father."

Melody looked puzzled, "Alston?"

"Neal Galan!" the old man said coldly.

Melody was taken aback, not expecting that this hard-to-deal-with looking old man would be Neal’s father.

The moment she was attacked, she thought it was someone sent by Bella Sutton again.

Just after waking and seeing this old man, she thought it was someone related to Adrian Davies.

It turns out it was someone she knew, Neal’s father.

Having someone attack her and forcibly take her away clearly had ill intentions.

But anyway, since he was Neal’s father, she should at least show some basic courtesy, "Hello, Uncle Galan."

Melody greeted and looked at the old man opposite her, asking, "I wonder what you brought me here for?"

"Hmph!" Neal’s father, David Galan, snorted coldly, "Are you Melody Parker?"

David laughed mockingly, his dark eyes suddenly growing fierce, "With such a disgraceful background, where do you get the confidence to claim to be Alston’s fiancée? Hm?"

Without waiting for Melody to respond, David continued dominantly, self-righteously saying, "A humble person like you probably only cares about Alston’s money, dreaming of rising through marriage. But before dreaming of marrying into a wealthy family, do you know Alston’s true identity, something someone like you could ever aspire to?"

David’s sharp cold eyes looked intently at Melody, speaking from on high, "Listen carefully, Alston is the Queen’s nephew! The things he will accomplish in the future, you can’t even imagine..."

Being berated by David left Melody almost dumbfounded.

But throughout this tirade, she finally understood why this high-and-mighty, rigid, and dull old man had her abducted.

It was because of Neal, and that presumed fiancée status!

Back in River City, she agreed to help him deal with his grandfather by pretending to be his fiancée.

She knew she was not worthy of Neal and always knew so.

But it was not because of Neal’s lineage, but because of how good Neal was.

However, believing she was unworthy was one thing, being criticized like this was another.

From the beginning, he never gave her any respect, directly abducting her.

Nonetheless, she could let this go on account of him being Neal’s father, but she could not lose her dignity.

Melody straightened her back, her cold eyes defiantly meeting David’s gaze, "Mr. Galan, regardless of my status, Neal and I are just friends, and we will always be friends! As for what you’re concerned about, it will never happen! He won’t marry me, and I won’t marry him! Just like you, I hope Neal will have a good life and will never stand in the way of his future!"

After speaking, Melody further explained: "As for living together, that’s fabricated, and the fiancée thing was just me agreeing to help Neal with a play."

"A play?" David was dismissive, coldly looking at Melody, "So, Alston isn’t interested in you? He doesn’t like you?"

Melody: "..."

Melody knew Neal’s feelings very well.

Melody couldn’t stand being threatened by others.

Besides, matters of emotions were beyond her control.

If she could make Neal give up completely, she would have done it long ago without him needing to say anything.

Though the premise is to avoid hurting Neal or minimize the harm.

She looked at David and spoke coldly, "Mr. Galan, I’ve already made myself clear, there’s nothing between Neal and me. If you want me to do something that hurts Neal to make him give up, I’m afraid I cannot comply."
