CHAPTER 75: THE MOTHER OF DEPRAVITY[2]

"Get up, child."

"Are you going to give up this easily?"

"You wanted to prove them wrong, didn’t you?"

The voice of a man called out to her, she lay down on the cold hard ground unmoving. A cut on her cheek bled and she took in heavy breaths which made her shudder because of the cold.

The man’s face was blurred, scales covered his body which looked like they were armor, jagged at places.

From his forehead two horns came out which curved backwards, the only thing visible on his face were his eyes.

Completely black eyes with solid irises, they looked as if they encompassed sorrows unknown to everyone.

He looked at her, his gaze lingered on her frail body and his eyes softened for a moment. But he turned and walked away.

In front of him was a barren land with a black hole looming over in the horizon. The girl slowly got up and looked at his back as he walked away, then her eyes darted towards the black hole.

But the loud clash in front of her brought her back from memories of the past, Xior attacked the blood knights but they simply blocked and covered their weak spots.

He wasn’t getting any openings, however hard he tried. Every attack of his got parried, blocked and dodged.

Their number advantage was the only thing which kept him from attacking them. But so far he had also prioritized dodging and saving himself as she gave the condition for him to come out unscathed.

He gritted his teeth and charged in, with a horizontal swing he made them jump back slightly, but he didn’t waste any time, he shot a fire bullet toward the one which covered the one in front of him.

He leapt into the air and inhaled, smoke erupted from his mouth followed by fire breath which melted the blood knight in the front, it sizzled into nothing when Xior landed back on the ground.

He blocked the huge axe of the other blood knight but then felt a shadow loom over him. He dropped his sword and crossed his arms in a cross to save himself from the attack.

As the hammer neared his arms, black scales popped out from under his skin as if they waited for the right moment and covered his both arms.

The impact was loud and ferocious, a cloud of dust formed and Xior was launched backwards, he bounced up and down from the impact and slid across the floor like a doll thrown in anger.

Acheron’s expression returned to one of boredom and indifference; she knew no one would be able to stay unscathed in front of her blood knights.

She would rot in here for eternity but she won’t believe the weightless words of a human. But she felt movement from where Xior was launched to.

She didn’t want to believe it but as the dust settled Xior stood up completely unscathed. His body was now covered in small patches of black scales which looked as if it was armor. It was jagged at edges.

Xior looked down at his body and then looked at his stat screen, his attribute was [Juvenile Dragon], he waited for when he would get the scales, it was not a bad time for him.

He raised his hand and the scales shifted, they covered his hands fully and then elongated his nails, making them into claws sharp enough to shred everything to little pieces.

He jumped at them once again, this time the blood weapons made a loud screeching sound if they hit the scales.

Xior’s arms were unscathed but their weapons were chipped and full of cracks. Xior clawed one of the knights and it got cut in half, the other one attacked him but it was useless.

His scales were strong enough to withstand these attacks, but even then he clashed head on with the blood knight he held his ground.

He was not pushed back, now he could go against them without much issue. He blocked and pulled the axe of the blood knight which made him stumble and fall towards him.

He pulled back his other hand and punched the blood knight and launched it backwards. Acheron looked at the whole spectacle with a very weird expression.

She didn’t want to show it but she was bad at that, when Xior got out of the rubble before this and his body got covered by black scales scales jagged at edges, it reminded her of the man in the Abyss.

Her eyes widened when she saw that, more and more memories of the past surfaced up, she wanted to cry but she couldn’t, at least in front of Xior.

Xior clawed his way through the blood knights but they all kept getting up again and again, how many times had he cut through them? How many times had they been beaten down.

They were persistent, but Xior was much more stubborn than them. He told her he would free her, and that would be the last thing he would do if he were to die right now.

He always did what he said he would do, even if it meant he would perish in the process. Acheron saw from her throne how he fought the knights, he was desperate, he was hurting and maybe he even understood her but she wouldn’t believe some human’s empty words.

Xior inhaled once again and opened his mouth, fire breath burned the blood knights until nothing was left from them.

There were seven knights at the start, then five...then three...and now only one remained. It looked at Xior, blood covered his whole body, it was not his blood but the blood of the surroundings.

He looked like a madman who clung to one simple thing. The blood knight leapt towards him and swung his sword, Xior parried it and grabbed both of its arms, jumped and kicked its chest which made him fall.

Xior got on top of it and shot his fire breath on its chest, the hot fire burned through him leaving nothing behind.

Acheron couldn’t believe it, he defeated all seven of the blood knights and even came out unscathed, this stubbornness reminded her of the man she met in the Abyss.

Xior gets up from the ground, his arms are limp and his back is hunched forward. Yet he doesn’t fall down, he takes a step forward...towards Acheron.

He kneels down not too far away from her throne, she moves and gets up from the throne. A blood mist forms around her as she takes small steps towards him.

Each step from her makes the whole chamber shudder. As she nears him, she grabs one of his hands and extends it to her face.

Her touch made Xior shiver, her body was cold as it was pale. Her red eyes looked deeply into his and then she pricked his thumb with a blood tendril.

A drop of blood rose in the air and then it dropped into her mouth. Silence enveloped Xior as soon as her tongue tasted his blood.

Then he felt an enormous pressure from her. The cold mask she had on cracked for a moment.

Her pupils dilate and astonishment flashes across her face. "This blood...it carries a familiar scent...of the END...and of the Dragon of Calamity." She says as she closes her eyes.

She gazes down at Xior who still was in the same position in front of her, she mutters. "Maybe...you’re different from them..."

But she doesn’t finish, she turns and starts to walk towards her throne. But then she looks back at Xior who was in that position even now.

She turns back and walks towards Xior, she pulls him up and makes him stand up in front of her.

He towers over her small frame, his black eyes as deep as her crimson eyes. She raises his hand to her mouth.

She slowly opens her mouth to reveal two fangs on the upper teeth, she pricks his palm with her fang and slowly nibbles on his hand and drinks his blood.

Her pupils dilate as her whole body shudders, Xior endures what he felt as she started drinking his blood.

He stood up straight one second, the other he was down on the ground, Acheron sat on top of him, blood dripped down from the side of her mouth and her pupils were dilated from drinking his blood.

Then she lunged towards his neck, he tried to push her away but she restricted his arms with a blood cage.

Her breath tingled Xior’s whole body, and then her fangs pierced his neck and he felt light headed.

As she sucked his blood, her whole body shuddered, on the other hand Xior too felt the same way. A way of ecstasy filled his entire body.

He couldn’t think straight, his mind was clouded. He never felt anything this tantalizing before.

How could he feel something like this before? He spent his early years as an orphan and the next ones stuck in the Abyss.

It had been a few months he had found a way out of the Abyss.
