In the New White House of the Federation was an assembly of the seven Joint Chiefs of Staff. The authority they hold within the country was amongst the greatest, slightly behind that of the President themselves.

The subject of the assembly was the growing threat that was the SIGIL Seventh Division, led by the strongest of humanity, also known as the Seventh Paragon, Alastair Glass.

Amongst them was the Chief of Intelligence, who reported everything that had occurred in the New World over the past few months. And it was quite a lot compared to recent years.

"The current troubles of the SIGIL started with the northern mission, where the Abominable Cult operated. Discoveries of a terrorist organization operating in the northernmost outskirts were reported."

"A member of Block 7 completed the mission, destroying the primary force of the Shadow Division and the Abominable Cult along the way."

"We investigated the remnants of the battle and concluded that over a thousand people fought in that valley. Most of whom had already lost their lives."

"Unfortunately, it was found out that the Shadow Division has allegedly infiltrated the Federal Government and the SIGIL."

"When the strongest of humanity heard the news. The reaction was anything but calm. The Seventh Paragon besieged the SIGIL Headquarters, annihilating it from the map."

"The infiltrators were confirmed and promptly executed by the Seventh Paragon. Afterward, the West Coast and the Fourth Division issued a tribunal against Block 7."

"It failed spectacularly, and instead, everyone who attended was warned. Since then, escalations have been frequent with the Seventh Division." The Chief of Intelligence ended the report with a punctual note.

Everyone in the assembly room, including the Federation's President, furrowed their eyebrows after hearing the news.

Obviously, critical information about the widespread cyberattack and the destruction of several federal facilities was kept under wraps.

The Chief of Staff of the Army stood, his buffed frame drawing the attention of everyone in the assembly room. A thick mustache adorned his face as he spoke in a grave tone.

"Block 7 must be taken care of. We cannot let them run amok in our country. What would the people see of the Federation?"

His words echoed; most agreed, but some furrowed their eyebrows and pondered it for a couple of seconds. However, it didn't take long for the first disagreement to come.

The Chief of Naval Operations shook his head and wanted to focus their attention elsewhere. He glared at the Chief of Intelligence, understanding the agenda the man was pushing.

"Instead of squabbling internally, the Clan has finally made a significant move for the first time in the past few years. They are currently gathering an army."

"It seems that they are intent on invading the upper half of the New World. I propose we enact the Aegis Plan and start the complete mobilization of the military."

The Chief of the National Guard Bureau nodded in agreement and supported him. "I agree... Their movements are troublesome. According to our intelligence, we only have a month left before the invasion starts."

"This is why the internal problems shall be taken care of before any large-scale military deployment against the Clan." The Chief of Intelligence argued.

Most of the Joint Chiefs nodded in agreement since internal fracturing wouldn't be very good during the upcoming defense against the vampire. It might cause them to lose.

But the Chief of Naval Operations shot back. "How do any of you expect to handle the White Devil? Have you forgotten how much power she wields?"

"The reason why the SIGIL isn't acting as the government is that she is limiting them from affecting the New World too much. Besides, do any of you have the power to even do so?"

"Because without power, even if you agreed that Block 7 is a problem. You wouldn't be able to do anything about it. That is a fact that you must face."

"Besides, without the strongest backing for the side of humanity. How do you expect us to fight against the Vampire Progenitor? Don't tell me you also forgot about that man?"

"That man singhandedly stormed Washington, D.C. and conquered our Old World Country in one night. The only one capable of stopping him is Alastair Glass."

The Chief of Naval Operations' arguments echoed throughout the assembly. As someone connected to the Federal Navy, he understood the horrors that hid beneath the depths of the New World.

These monstrous abominations were biding their time. They don't even belong to the New World; some came from continents that had been forgotten by most of humanity.

The reason no expeditions to other continents came to be was because of him. He was the leader of the first expedition to discover if pockets of humanity existed outside the New World.

But not even reaching a thousand kilometers from the shores of the New World, they saw moving islands alongside creatures that consumed whole aircraft carriers.

Compared to the sea, the troubles on land were nothing more than foolish squabbles to him. These people in the assembly with him think the New World was a slightly worse version than the Old World.

However, reality differed from expectations. The New World wasn't a worse version. Truthfully, it can only be considered as Hell incarnate.

In any case, his arguments were heard by everyone. Even the Chief of Intelligence couldn't utter a single word since what he had spoken was the undeniable truth.

Though, in the end... The decision was made by the Federation's President, who already made up his mind.

"While I would rather avoid dividing our country in such dire times, Block 7 must be handled. From now on, we shall declare them enemies of the state. The Federal Military will be deployed to hunt them down."

Hearing the President's words, most were dumbfounded except for the Chief of Intelligence. Even the one who argued for it, the Chief of Staff of the Army, felt a bit indignant about the decision.

After all, the bias was a bit too strong even for him.

An eerie silence pervaded the assembly room as the Joint Chiefs of Staff gazed upon the President. His orders weren't merely to imprison Block 7.

The President himself was ordering the execution of the Seventh Division. Noticing his subordinates' heavy looks, the President kept his indifference.

He understood their lack of confidence in dealing with Block 7, so he decided to add more details to the directive he had given them. "I will give you the power to mobilize SIGIL."

"If they don't follow the directive, such divisions will be considered as traitors of the state and humanity."

The Chief of Naval Operations barely controlled himself from lashing out at the arrogant bastard.

What the foolish bastard was doing was practically no different than ensuring a civil war breaks apart the Federation before the Clan does.

It was beyond idiotic.

Then...

A stray thought surfaced as he recalled the intelligence reports about members of the Shadow Division infiltrating the Federal Government. But it shouldn't be possible.

The Federation was created before the Shadow Division's emergence, and this guy was the first President of the New World.

There was no way that their first President would be connected to a Terrorist Organization that valued the supremacy of humanity, in more concise terms, the Metahumans.

"Block 1 already stands by my side as the protection detail of the New White House. The only thing you need to do is utilize the remaining SIGIL Divisions."

Without even giving them a moment, the President stood up and left the assembly room. Once again, the Joint Chiefs of Staff were dumbfounded.

The Chief of Intelligence arranged his reports as the Chief of Naval Operations glared at him. "You know what you have done, right?"

"You're breaking this country apart for the vampires to feast upon."

But the former didn't care about the latter's words. The Chief of Intelligence left the assembly room, following behind the President's security detail.

The Chief of Staff of the Army, the Chief of the National Guard Bureau, the Chief of Naval Operations, and the Commandant of the Marine Corps watched each other in heavy silence.

Just when a war was on the horizon. Instead of preparing for the defense, the Joint Chiefs were ordered to divert their resources to fighting humanity's only weapon against the vampires.

"I will appeal to Congress for the President to step down. His term had long ended. Even if it isn't the greatest time, we cannot have a maniac as our leader."

The Chief of Naval Operations left the assembly room as the remaining Joint Chiefs gazed upon one another. All of them had the same thoughts, especially when they realized their opponent was the White Devil.

All of them were part of the Revolution and watched the moment when the strongest of humanity changed the tide of the battle for freedom with a single snap of her fingers.

It was a sight that they had forgotten, but now remembered as though reality was making a fool out of their foolish ideas.
