CHAPTER 167: CHAPTER 167) ONE PERSON HAS GOT TO GO.

I stood there frozen and confused. Everything happened really fast.

I didn’t even see how it happened. All I saw was the bloody head of the hideous hybrid creature in the Lycan King’s hand.

Thud.

There was a faint, but not too faint thud, as the Lycan King tossed the hideous hybrid creature’s head on the ground, before staring at me. For a second, I flinched at the sight of his piercing eyes.

But his piercing eyes abruptly softened, and he came to me.

My body acted on its own and I found myself retreating a step away from him.

"I’m sorry. Did I scare you? I was furious when he did that to you, so I lost control of myself and killed him". His explanation only made things look weird and worse to me.

That didn’t explain how brutal he was. Or did it?

Fireball and Irving came and stood in front of me, thus standing in between the Lycan King and me.

"Stay away from my mama. I don’t care that you are her mate. I would not allow you to continue being close to her unless she approves of it". Fireball said to him and I could sense the hostile aura he was emanating.

"What relationship do both of you have with her? Why do you keep calling her your mama? Does she look like someone who could give birth to grown-ups like both of you?". The Lycan King asked.

I didn’t blame him for being nosy, because I understood his confusion.

But he shouldn’t get ahead of himself.

We aren’t close enough for me to start sharing my secrets with him.

Besides that, why the heck did he kill the hideous hybrid creature when he hadn’t yet told me where my aunt Penelope was?

I figured that she was currently in this forest, but which side in particular?

And did he really kill her?!

"I don’t have time for this. I have to search for her!". I declared and flew up in the air, before I flew away at the speed of a light, leaving Fireball, Irving and the Lycan King.

I was making my way deeper into the wild forest. The sooner I could find Aunt Penelope, then I would be at rest.

But at the moment, I couldn’t help but feel uneasy.

I didn’t want to believe that she was dead, until I saw her with my own eyes.

When I glanced behind me, I saw that Fireball, Irving and the Lycan King were running after me.

The Lycan King was ahead of Fireball and Irving, as he was clearly faster than them.

I returned my gaze to my front, as I wasn’t ready to collide with any of the tall trees and end up falling.

Furthermore, the forest was vast, and no matter how deep I entered the forest, I couldn’t sense Aunt Penelope’s aura or her presence. And the forest was becoming chill and dark. I could literally sense dark energy almost everywhere.

Meaning that more hybrid creatures and wild beasts must be close by.

I wasn’t ready to fight again, not because I was going to lose the battle. But because I had this bit of hope in me that Aunt Penelope was still there, and that I could use my light magic to heal her if I could get to her in time before it got too late.

If I ran into any hybrid creatures or wild beasts, they were going to make me slow down.

Oops. My mistake. I couldn’t possibly run into any of them since I was flying in the air.

But I could definitely collide with the flying ones, which I was trying to avoid from happening.

Anyway, searching for Aunt Penelope while flying somewhat low wasn’t working, so I flew up higher. In the middle of flying higher, I enhanced my vision using my light magic and began to scan the dark cold forest for Aunt Penelope desperately.

I felt my heart beating fast as I noticed that something was going after me.

It was clear to me after I heard a wild sound behind me. When I glanced behind me, I was stunned to see a herd of flying monsters flying after me.

By monster, I meant hybrid creatures and wild beasts that could fly.

I could see them clearly despite flying very fast, thanks to my enhanced vision.

’Get rid of them, Clara!’. Elektra tried to warn me as they gained on me. She was afraid that they were going to hurt me, since they were behind me and not in front of me.

’I don’t have time to fight them, Elektra. I have to find Aunt Penelope!’. I replied to her and gritted my teeth as I glanced one more time behind me.

I hated this. I hated the wild beasts and hybrid creatures. I wish I could easily annihilate every single one of them from this world.

I knew that I could use my black magic to annihilate all of them if I wanted to, but because of the unknown price that I had to pay for that to happen, I was not ready to gamble on it.

What if the price was my life? I wasn’t in any way ready to die again.

’Mama, leave them to us. Irving and I are going to take care of them for you. Remember, my sister and I need to train to get stronger. So allow us to help you out’. Someone mind linked me. It was Fireball.

Funny. His mind linking voice was quite different from his human form’s voice.

It sounded immature.

’How do you and Irving plan on dealing with them from down there? Don’t tell me that both of you want to reveal your true forms in the presence of the Lycan King?’. I asked him, but he remained quiet, making me understand that I was correct.

He and Irving wanted to transform into their dragon forms to help me out.

’Think of something quick, Clara. These bastards are unto us!’. Elektra quarreled and sounded more serious this time.

Then, I got it.

Fireball and Irving can return to their true forms. But one person has got to go.
