Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback
Chapter 410: Railer Was Caught By Kane
CHAPTER 410: CHAPTER 410: RAILER WAS CAUGHT BY KANE
Like a little spy, he crawled through the hole and followed the sound of the meows. There, he saw the woman who had talked to him the other day. She was leaning against the wall, smoking a cigarette. She waved her hands to chase away mosquitoes, careful not to make any noise that would alert the patrols.
When she saw Railer, she complained, "What’s wrong with your dad? It’s just a villa, not a castle. Why does he need these ridiculous high walls?"
"Don’t insult my daddy!" Railer glared at her.
Her eyes widened at his sudden outburst, but she quickly pulled herself together, realizing how silly it was to be startled by a child. "Is everything ready for tomorrow? If the plan fails, your daddy might leave you forever."
"Are you sure you won’t hurt them?" Railer asked cautiously.
The woman crouched down and spoke in a gentle tone. "Don’t worry. Didn’t I already show you those two rich foster families?"
To gain Railer’s trust, she went on, saying she was only doing this because she felt sorry for him. She told him that the two wealthy families had paid her to find obedient children and spoke highly of them.
"Daddy scolded me again because of Kane. He almost hit me if Mommy hadn’t stopped him. We made up later, but Daddy didn’t talk to me the whole night." As Railer talked about his bad day, tears started to fill his eyes.
The woman pulled him into her arms, pretending to comfort him. Deep down, though, she despised how spoiled he was.
He was willing to send his own siblings away just because his father scolded him. Like father, like son, she thought. Still, she was thrilled. All those years of spoiling Railer had finally paid off as he was telling her everything.
And to think that others believed Railer was trying to set them up... Urgh, they should see him now. How complicated could a child who was simply jealous of his own siblings really be?
"See? Didn’t I tell you? Your dad only loves Kane and Stephanie. If you don’t send them away, you’ll be the one he abandons," the woman whispered softly.
"I don’t want to be abandoned," Railer cried.
The woman called over her guards to muffle Railer’s sobs. "There, there. After tomorrow, you’ll be your parents’ favorite child. I can’t stay here longer. Tell me, how should I reach you tomorrow?"
She knew how cautious Daniel was. There would be plenty of guards during their yacht trip, and getting close to them wouldn’t be easy.
"You can’t let them see you, or they won’t let you near the yacht," Railer said. "Just hide underwater. Around ten in the morning, I’ll bring Kane and Stephanie to the back of the yacht. Then I’ll blow this whistle. The bell in your hand will ring. That’s your signal to come out and take them away. I’ll distract the guards."
Railer blew the whistle to show her, and the bell in the woman’s hand rang instantly.
"How does this work?" the woman asked curiously.
"There’s an insect inside the bell. The frequency of this whistle can only be detected by it. When it reacts to the sound, the bell will ring."
A chill ran down the woman’s spine. There was nothing ordinary about the Wilson family. No wonder their children kept getting targeted.
"I’ll wait for your signal tomorrow, Railer. This is your only chance. If the plan fails, you’ll be disowned. So you can’t hesitate, understand?"
Railer nodded. "I understand. Either I get rid of them, or they get rid of me."
"What’s that?" one of the guards suddenly shouted.
The woman immediately ran away when she heard the sound. When Railer saw her dash into a black sedan across the street, he quickly put on his glasses. With a single click, the darkness vanished, and he could see everything clearly, including the car’s plate number. He snapped a photo of it, then hurried back toward the villa.
But before he could slip under his blanket, he felt someone nearby.
"Where did you go, Rai?" Kane stared at Railer with his big, round eyes.
Railer tried to avoid his eyes. "I didn’t go anywhere."
"I saw you! You crawled out through that hole," Kane said, frowning. "If you don’t tell me the truth, I’ll tell Daddy and Mommy!" He turned around and started walking toward the door.
"Stop!" Railer grabbed Kane’s arm. "I’ll tell you, okay?"
"Your secret’s safe with me," Kane said as he sat down across from him and stared at him carefully.
Even though the room was still dark, Railer couldn’t bring himself to look directly into Kane’s eyes. "I went to see a woman. She used to take care of me back in Easthan. She came to ask for a loan."
"How much?" Kane asked, giving him a serious look.
"Two million," Railer sighed.
"What? And you agreed?" Kane jumped up in shock.
"Is it a lot? You just gave Jacob three hundred million the other day," Railer said.
"That’s different! We needed his help. But you gave that woman a huge amount just like that. She’s definitely going to come back for more!"
"It’s my money anyway. Just mind your own business," Railer said irritably. Annoyed by Kane’s words, he pulled the blanket over himself and hid underneath.
"Rai, that’s not fair to say. We’re still kids. Daddy and Mommy gave us money, but that doesn’t mean we can just spend it however we want. Do you even know how much two million dollars is? When my mommy first came to Carcosa, she had nothing. She washed dishes and earned less than a hundred dollars a day."
Kane tried to pull the blanket away from Railer, but Railer held it tightly.
"Daddy doesn’t care how much I spend anyway. Mommy said I can use my money however I like. And that’s not just your mommy. She’s my mommy too," Railer said in a low voice from under the blanket.
Kane was stunned for a moment at Railer’s words. Then he sat down beside the bed. "Rai, I wasn’t trying to scold you. I just want you to understand that two million is a huge amount of money."
"So what? When Kate spanked me, that woman defended me. I want to help her. Go tell Daddy if you want. He’ll take your side anyway because he only likes you. He doesn’t like me!"
"That’s not true, Railer. We’re all Daddy’s children. Daddy loves you, too!" Kane said as he tried again to pull the blanket away from Railer.
Railer suddenly released the blanket and pushed Kane off the bed. "Stop pretending to care! I know you just want to take Daddy away from me!"
