Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback
Chapter 437: The Strange Room
CHAPTER 437: CHAPTER 437: THE STRANGE ROOM
After a few hours, fifteen rooms had been furnished with bunk beds. Eight of them had bed nets, while seven did not.
From the design and color of the beds, it was clear they were meant for girls. Why was Fred planning to imprison so many women?
Just as she was wondering about it, loud noises came from outside. The bodyguards entered, carrying fifteen large sacks. Fred entered the room and untied the first one, revealing a young woman’s beautiful face.
He touched her cheek and frowned. "The quality isn’t good enough."
"She’s from a poor family, so she’s decent enough growing up like that," the man beside Fred said cautiously.
Fred snorted and said in a mocking tone, "I want pretty women. Why are you grabbing them from poor families?"
The man looked hurt but said nothing. Kidnapping girls from wealthy families would be risky. Who would take responsibility if things went wrong?
Fred patted his shoulder and said, "What is there to worry about when you work for Mr. Joseph?"
The man’s face changed at Fred’s words. Fred went on, "Do you know why Mr. Joseph can do anything he wants in Easthan? He has powerful people protecting him, so be bolder."
Chantelle was stunned when she heard Fred’s words.
Were they planning to do something illegal and let Daniel take the blame?
She had known Joseph for years and knew how much he despised both her and Daniel. But could his hatred really have driven him insane?
Fred signaled the bodyguards to move the women into their assigned rooms. At that moment, Chantelle finally realized why some of the beds had nets and others didn’t.
Oh my god! The girls in the rooms with bed nets were minors!
Chantelle trembled with anger as she watched the women and girls slowly regain consciousness. Then Fred led all the men out of the room.
After a while, a man who looked almost exactly like Daniel entered. He had deliberately made himself resemble Daniel.
He stood under the brightest lamp. The light was blinding, so the women could not see his face clearly. Some covered their eyes because of the glare. Others did not dare to look at him at all.
After a moment, the man warned them harshly. He threatened that they would end up badly if they tried to escape.
One of the women was bold and shouted, "Let us out! You’re imprisoning us illegally! I’ll sue you!"
The man signaled a bodyguard to open the door and bring that woman out. "Mr. Wilson, she’s here."
The woman nervously glanced at him, then quickly lowered her head after looking into his cold, murderous eyes.
Chantelle let out a cold snort. It was obvious they were trying to frame Daniel. If Daniel were really behind this, he wouldn’t be foolish enough to let his subordinate expose his name in front of the victims.
The man suddenly grabbed the woman’s dress and ripped it open, exposing her underwear. The woman cried and begged for mercy, but he ignored her.
As the man was about to rape her to intimidate the others, Chantelle threw a steel ball straight at one of his acupuncture points.
The man instantly felt his body go weak. He panicked when he realized he couldn’t move or feel any desire.
"What’s wrong? Can’t you do it? We can do it for you!" the other bodyguards shouted, their words filled with filth. But the man knew he had no choice. If he failed, he’d be the one to suffer.
The woman quickly grabbed her torn clothes and covered herself. While the men were distracted, she suddenly felt something small fly into her ear.
A voice whispered to her.
"Push the man into the room on your right."
Goosebumps prickled her skin as she looked around nervously. But when she saw the bodyguard approaching again, she gathered her strength and shoved him hard to her right.
The man felt a sharp pain in his leg and collapsed to the floor. Then, as if pulled by some invisible force, his six-foot-tall body lifted into the air. He thrashed and kicked helplessly in midair.
After a while, his face turned red and swollen. His eyes bulged, and blood began to flow from his neck.
The scene was horrifying.
All the men were terrified. They knew what had happened in that room before; at least eight women had died there. Their blood turned cold as they thought a ghost was responsible for what they had just witnessed.
"Expose him for impersonating Mr. Wilson!" Chantelle’s voice echoed in the woman’s ear. The woman trembled, thinking the place was haunted.
But since the ghostly voice had helped her earlier, she wasn’t afraid anymore. In fact, she trusted it.
The woman gathered her courage and shouted, "He’s not Mr. Wilson! Mr. Wilson isn’t this ugly!"
The other women turned to look at the man. He was still hanging from the ceiling, but his sweat had washed away his makeup. They could now see clearly that he was a fake.
"Quick, go and inform Mr. Larbacher!" one of the bodyguards yelled as they finally realized something was wrong and rushed to report to Fred.
One of the bodyguards tried to hit the woman, but as soon as he reached out his hand, something grabbed his wrist. He tried to pull away, but a sharp pain shot through him, and his hand was sliced away swiftly.
"Ah! My hand! My hand!" he screamed, clutching his bloody wrist and collapsing to the floor in agony.
"It’s haunted! The castle is haunted!" someone shouted.
"Don’t kill me! Spare me!" another cried in terror.
The other bodyguards wanted to save the man hanging from the ceiling, but they were terrified and ran away in all directions.
Chantelle whispered into the woman’s ear again. "Go back to the room you were in earlier."
The woman didn’t hesitate and quickly returned to her previous room. She found a dress in the closet and put it on.
At that moment, Fred arrived with reinforcements. Chantelle pulled back the thin, transparent thread holding the man up, and he crashed hard to the floor.
"Get back to your rooms! No one leaves without permission!" the bodyguards shouted as they herded the women into their rooms. The rooms looked like prison cells, enclosed by iron fences, and blocked any view of what was happening outside.
