CHAPTER 461: CHAPTER 461: IF YOU LET ME KISS YOU, I’LL TELL YOU

Camille’s face turned pale when she heard the words "two hundred million dollars" in compensation. She remembered the three hundred million dollars she secretly got by selling some of her grandfather’s properties and antiques. She had already spent all of it on her film.

The director and actors were not performing well, and she was already worried the film might not even be completed. She was terrified of losing all the money she had invested.

If she caused trouble today and lost another two hundred million dollars, her grandfather would definitely begin to distrust her.

But she couldn’t bring herself to accept this humiliation.

When she saw that her three older brothers had no real intention of helping her, Camille became furious. While Rowan was busy being flattered by others, and Oscar and Alexander were casually talking, she secretly slipped away toward the restroom.

Alexander was the first to notice she had left. He didn’t think much of it when he saw her heading to the restroom, or maybe he was even hoping she would do something, even if it meant trying to break up Daniel and Chantelle and making an even bigger scene.

After all, this was Daniel’s event. The more trouble that happened, the better. It would be justice for what he had done to Chantelle.

In the restroom, Camille called Anthony. He came in disguised as a woman and handed her a small glass bottle.

"Mix it into their drinks. Just one sip and it will work," Anthony said with a sly grin.

Camille didn’t have time to feel disgusted. She quickly left the restroom with the drug in her hand.

When she returned, the hall had gone silent. She saw Daniel walk toward Chantelle, bend down like a gentleman, and invite her to dance. Seeing this, Camille tightened her grip on the bottle. She swore she would make them pay for everything today.

Chantelle noticed Camille from the corner of her eye as Daniel led her to dance. She leaned toward him and whispered, "Your fiancée looks furious. It’s like she wants to eat me alive. Why don’t you go to soothe her?"

Daniel scoffed, "Fiancée? I, Daniel Wilson, don’t have a fiancée. I only have a wife." He quickly leaned down, trying to steal a kiss, but Chantelle turned her head away.

"Why are you humiliating her when you don’t even plan to marry her?"

"I’ll never forget what she did to you and our children. This is the punishment she deserves."

"Are you not risking your relationship with the Nelsen family by doing this?" Chantelle asked, raising her eyebrows.

Daniel understood what she meant. "The Nelsen family is the Nelsen family, and Camille is Camille," he replied with a smile.

Chantelle knew Daniel respected the Nelsen family too much to cut ties with them just to avenge her. She looked around and noticed Steve wasn’t there, which meant Daniel had already planned everything.

She was also sure that even if Camille was embarrassed today, Daniel’s relationship with the Nelsen family would remain unaffected.

"Are you not going to ask me why?" Daniel raised his brows, as if saying, Ask me. If you let me kiss you, I’ll tell you.

Chantelle moved away from him without saying a word as the dance reached its peak. Her skirt flowed with her steps, soft and light like clouds, drawing everyone’s attention.

It wasn’t until the dance ended that she answered him. "If you want to tell me, then you can. If you don’t, that’s fine too."

A flicker of disappointment passed through Daniel’s eyes when Chantelle didn’t show the reaction he expected. Still, he quickly shifted his expression and used the dance to pull her into his arms, holding her tightly as they moved to the music.

He leaned down and kissed her soft lips while she tried to push him away.

He had been thinking about her lips all night since he first saw her that evening. His eyes had never left them, and now that he finally tasted them, they were just as sweet as he imagined.

"Wow! Mr. Wilson is so romantic!"

"Did you see it? When Chantelle was dancing, the diamonds on her skirt shimmered and made her sparkle. She looks like a fairy among the stars."

"Those diamonds are so tiny. You can barely notice them when she’s not moving, but when she moves, they shine so beautifully. It’s stunning. Do you think there are tens of thousands of diamonds on that dress?"

"Did you see Ms. Corrine’s Facebook page? She posted a photo of Chantelle wearing that dress and said she finally brought the design in her imagination to life. That means Chantelle is wearing the original!"

With everyone watching, Chantelle and Daniel remained in a kiss that lasted for almost a minute. She couldn’t hear anything except her own heartbeat. She nearly forgot to breathe. When Daniel finally released her, she gasped for air, only to hear him speak with a slight smirk.

"Thank you for attending the engagement party of the Wilson Group of Companies’ heir and the Nelsen family’s daughter. Please forgive us if my wife and I failed to host you properly."

Daniel stood before the crowd and spoke with complete politeness.

The audience, especially those who had been waiting to watch Chantelle embarrass herself, was stunned and quickly began offering congratulations instead. Their sudden change in attitude as they tried to please her was almost laughable.

"Today, I’d like to take this opportunity to make something clear. I, Daniel Wilson, have only one wife. It was Chantelle Bentley in the past, it is Chantelle Bentley now, and it will be her in the future. Anyone who disrespects her is disrespecting me. If you intentionally make trouble for her, then you are intentionally going against me."

Daniel looked around the room, and one by one, people approached Chantelle to toast and flatter her.

Chantelle could still picture Daniel standing on stage, openly declaring that she was his only wife. The memory made her unable to control her emotions.

After all, she was still just a normal woman. Anyone would be touched by being defended so openly like that.

"Mrs. Wilson, did I do well today?" Daniel asked as he came down from the stage to her side. He changed instantly from an intimidating CEO to a gentle, clingy pup, playing with her fingers and waiting for her praise.

Chantelle didn’t know whether to laugh or be annoyed. She pulled her hand back and said, "Let’s deal with the situation first."

"Alright. Whatever you say, Mrs. Wilson," Daniel replied. While she was distracted, he leaned down and placed a quick kiss on her cheek.
